An extremely relaxing stay. Wonderful bar. Elegant surroundings.
4.3
The staff were excellent, however I wasn’t aware that there would be a £25 per night accommodation service charge until I checked in. I’ve never heard of this in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Also a service charge of £10 on the ‘free’ breakfast. The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom plumbing questionable. The restaurant was very good and location was excellent for the Royal Albert Hall.

It was. Mediocre, the hotel was gorgeous. It was beautiful and the staff were lovely however it was all ruined with our room. We were upgraded to a delux double which was nice. However the heater didnt work and the aircon unit we had built into the window which said it had a heat setting also didnt work so we were absolutely freezing cold the entire time. We paid an extortionate amount of money to freeze and on top of that pay an extra accomidation fee when we left? We didnt use any of their extra accommodations. Only the room and it was barely livable due to how cold it was

Beautiful style and design.

A friendly welcome and some lovely surprises for my husband’s 50th, The team were all lovely and couldn’t have done anymore to make our stay better. The room was fabulous as was the breakfast. Service fantastic and with a smile. Will definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Loved the period quintessentially English hotel. The location was great, just a short walk from natural history museum in Kensington and 10 minute walk from South Kensington tube station.

Service was outstanding, location excellent, bar was lovely

When staying in Kensington, I always try and stay at The Gore. It’s a charming and historic hotel situated almost next door to The Royal Albert Hall. The V&A and Natural History Museum are a short walk away, as is Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. South Kensington and Gloucester Road tube stations are around half a mile away and bus routes are plentiful. The staff at the hotel are friendly, highly professional and give great service.
Highly recommended.

Friendly staff! We enjoyed our room as well as the bar! Close to several businesses and parks.

The Gore has an excellent staff trained to provide superior quality service. Location of the Gore in the Kensington area is loaded with spectacular sights for tourists to visit!
4.3
The ideal location to stay in comfort when attending an event at Royal Albert Hall. The bar offers delicious food, good service. The staff are welcoming and informative as they help you settle in for your stay. The accommodations luxurious and a wonderful place to treat yourself and be treated well while on a holiday.
4.3
The hotel is simply elegant, the staff is stellar and it is truly a special place. Down slight down side is the wifi was less than.
4.3
A great property in a prime area. It’s not the most modern place but we loved the history and the staff was friendly and helpful. Plus, the food was excellent and they have a lovely sitting room too while some time.

The Gore is an attractive building in a quiet and attractive street, within easy walking distance of The Royal Albert Hall. Inside, it is cozy and characterful, with beautiful antique furnishings and artwork. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and most helpful. Our room - one of the smaller rooms the hotel offers - was a good size and offered lots of storage space. It was very clean, beautifully and charmingly decorated, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and well appointed, although some of the sealant around the bath was discoloured and definitely in need of being replaced. We enjoyed the complimentary Penhaligon’s toiletries, however.
Breakfast was good, and we enjoyed spending time in Bar 190, which has a really nice, mellow atmosphere. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Perfect location for the Royal Albert Hall and Kensington gardens. Fabulous service, Members of staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. I look forward to another stay in the future.
4.3
Amazing staff. Gorgeous hotel. Great area. Room was a disappointment.

I booked this for myself and my partner when visiting for a night to attend Hyde Park BST....I am so glad we booked here, the staff were amazing, the bed was so comfortable, and as it was my partners birthday there was a small birthday cake waiting for us in the room. Also glad we chose to have the breakfast which was well worth the money and delicious.

This hotel is a good base for visiting London with great staff and outstanding housekeeping.

Distance to closest Tube Stop.

Favorite hotel in London. The staff is absolutely the best.

Conveniently located next to the Royal Albert Hall.

Great hotel. Good restaurant and bar. Awesome staff. Great location. Would stay again.

Frustrating that they add a service charge to your bill as a tip, which you have to request to have removed if you don't want to pay it, and it's based on a percentage of your room rate. They said it's for things 'like cleaning' where you'd hope they pay staff well enough not to request this. I also only stayed one night, so no-one refreshed my room during my stay to make this relevant. The staff were all very friendly however and the hotel has a lot of character and super close to the RGS which is where I needed to be. I had a small balcony shared with three other rooms and the cremone bolt didn't close properly and couldn't be locked. I woke up with the windows having blown open to the balcony that two other rooms could access, so this needs to be addressed.
4.3
Great location. Shame the bed not very comfy with big dip in middle that both rolled into, and the housekeeping staff were keen to clean room opposite as soon as they’d checked out-great-but hoovers going right outside when just waking up not ideal! Otherwise great stay and location-didn’t really use any other facilities in hotel unfortunately!
4.3
Beautiful traditional hotel with impeccable service. This is a very relaxed hotel and a gentle pace, don’t expect people rushing about. It’s perfect if that’s what you want/like. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Bathroom was also spacious. I don’t have a bath at home so to have a nice relaxed soak with lush toiletries was a real delight. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
4.3
Good clean friendly staff

The Hotel is beautiful. It is in a quiet area but within walking distance of transport. The staff were all super nice and helpful. We loved our room and the bath was amazing. We will be staying again on our next visit to London.
4.3
Had a lovely stay - our only challenge was our USA electric converters didn’t work for our our hair devices.
4.3
Overnight stay for
Theatre. Paid up
Front did not eat there and they added £13 service charge which I got removed.
4.3
Impeccable service started us off. Room was fine size and unique. Easy walk to Kensington Gardens and train stops. Also close enough to walk to Harrods! Highly recommend this boutique hotel with impressive library-restaurant and pub. Thank you for a wonderful few days!
4.3
Avoid... the room was not habitable because of a pungent smell. The staff tried to tell me a story that the smell was because of the cleaning chemicals and that its normal is all hotels. This was an insult to my intelligence. We ended up leaving for another hotel. Even though Hotels.com were willing to cancel the booking at no charge the hotel wouldnt let me leave without paying their cancellation fee. I ended paying for two rooms that night because of the cancellation fee that hotels.com were prepared to waive. The hotel then fought my dispute of the charge with my credit card company

Lovely view over the trees in Kensington looking out towards the park. Great service and most importantly it feels very safe and secure even as a solo female travelling.
4.3
The room wasn’t seem clean. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Other than that everything is fine.
4.3
George the, concierge was lovely and very helpful. He took care of getting a car for hire and other small items I needed with a gentlemanly air. He remembered my requests and I didn’t have to remind him I existed. Much appreciated. All the staff were very nice as well.
I loved the room and the general atmosphere of the hotel. Very cozy and comfortable but a touch of old world elegance without ever being stuffy at all.
4.3
We were unexpectedly upgraded to a room with a four poster bed in it! Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and with a bottle of Prosecco chilling!( as a VIP member) it really couldn’t be better. I chose the hotel due to its location - 3 minutes from Royal Albert Hall to see Eric Clapton
4.3
Great hotel, all the staff were fabulous and couldn’t do enough for you. We only stayed one night so didn’t get chance to use the bar but it looked a nice location for a drink.
4.3
Stayed for a concert at the Royal Albert Hall and the Gore is very convenient. Nice hotel and helpful staff.
4.3
Courtesy and comfort set in a wonderful old building. The staff were amazing looking after your requests and with a smile that made you feel even happier.
The king bed and throne toilet in the bathroom were a special treat as was the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.
To relax in the well stocked bar being waited on by the same lovely people, can it better? Yes the breakfast whilst not cheap was incredibly well prepared and again served with a smile.
We shall return without question.
4.3
Fantastic hotel. Incredibly comfortable bed. Outstanding service. Excellent food.
4.3
Absolutely LOVED the thoughtful artistic time period design of this hotel and the staff was incredible.
The only design aspect that I didn't love was the bathroom, compared to the rest of the hotel it didn't feel as posh. It was more modern and and generic.
The bar was such a treat and the neighborhood very charming.
4.3
The Gore is a lovely hotel, the staff is very friendly and make you feel very welcomed!! Each time I left or came back to the hotel they greeted me by name. I am excited to go back next year!!
