It was cheap and thats what I needed. There was a stain on the sheet. The service was good. They knew I needed towels and I didnt have to ask. At night I was impressed at how well it was lit.

The rooms are 2.8 out of 5 had bed bugs I was getting ate up

Except for the bathroom floor, the entire floor for the rest of the room had very loose lamenant tiles, so much so that they creaked when you walked anywhere in the room. Someone with bare feet could get pinched between the strips of lamenant. Could get you sued.

Not much to say, but all we need was a bed for sleeping that they did have

Overall for the price it was a good stay. Could focus on attention to detail while cleaning but other than that I was satisfied. Front desk was friendly.

The only positives was an easy check in and proximity to food. This hotel is not updated at all, the toilet wasn’t fixed to the floor, the room has bed bugs.

Room smelled like smoke and dog barking in adjacent room most of the night and morning. Dirty and run down looking.

The bathroom was not cleaned properly and smelled like a fresh poop. The floor was not vacuumed and the entire room had a cigarette smell.

I checked in late due to travel delays and I was met by 2 employees that seemed hesitant about letting me into the locked front door. This after giving them my license and credit card info through a window. After finally gaining access to the front lobby, I had to explain to them and show my Orbitz reservation on my phone. I then preceeded to wait 45 minutes because said employees weren't familiar with the Orbitz travel site. Upon finally getting my assigned room, I went to turn on the a/c when i saw dozens of ants in the room. I attempted to mentally block what i saw before coming to my senses and finding a room elswhere. Lesson learned. Next time, I'll pay extra for the comfort of a more reputable brand.

I was in the area for military duty. Last minute booking.
One of the filthiest places I’ve ever stayed. Cigarette burns on the sheets and on the bathroom countertops.
Sheets clearly hadn’t been washed. Bathroom smelled like an outhouse.
Nothing redeemable about this place. It has a roof, so it’s not outside at least.

no frills hotel, and you get what you pay for. pros: comfortable bed and enormous bathtub. great for soaking if that's what you like. bar and wing joint attached to the building. cons: no security lock on the door. towels are about a hundred years old--very thin, and while they may have started out white, they are a little on the gray side now. Lights are very dim. I had to turn on every light in the room to be able to read. All in all an okay place if you're on a tight budget, but if you can spend a few extra bucks, go someplace else.

This is located on edge of downtown and the entire hotel had an iron fence around it. First clue this was not a good choice. When we checked in it was at a window with bullet-proof glass. Clue 2. We did not unpack anything until we inspected the room. Looked ok inside until we say the hole in the bathroom door- looked like someone punched the door in. Immediately left and cancelled the reservation for next day and new room for night.

It's a very old property that shows it age.
Very basic accommodations.
No morning breakfast service,

Yikes, the room was dirty and had a gross smell. I reserved the room based off the pictures but the photos must be super old or edited. The towels and bedding were stained, the floors were super gross, it looked like cooking oil was spilled in several spots and dirt stuck to it, there was a large spider and spider web under the under conditioner inside the room. The toilet paper location also sucked, you have to reach behind you basically to get to it. The location was OK. I didn't feel unsafe, it has a large parking lot near lots of restaurants, close to the highway. Of course because you're close to the highway you hear the noise, but it's a Motel so that's expected. The staff were friendly, no complaints there.

This place was filthy. Outside my room was what appeared to be a homeless camp. The phone didn’t work, the hairdryer didn’t work, and the towels were supposed to be white but were an off shade of gray. Normally, I wouldn’t expect much from an Econolodge, but for $87 a night, it should be better than this!

The entire property smelled terrible…very sour and stomach turning. Bathroom was clean but areas around the bed were filthy..not swept. Service was a bit slow at check in but courteous. It was hard to sleep with the odor and the bar next door pounding through the walls which were shared on our end of the hotel.. It did not seem busy so I wondered why we were not offered an outside room further away from the noise. I would not stay again.

Horrible. No shower curtain, no towels, no hot water, no service. Horrible staff

Absolutely terrible, that's the best way to describe my stay here. I travel a ton with my job and Birmingham is a frequent stop for me and I can assure you I won't be staying that this Econo Lodge yet.
Cons:
When I got there I was informed the water was off and it wouldn't be back on for an hour or so. Fine, I can handle that. But the water cut off yet again the next day for about 2 hours. I never was able to get hot water in my room AT ALL. So, cold showers... The bed was terrible and worst of all, I killed several small roaches in my room.
Pros:
The price (get what you pay for, I guess) and the front desk staff was nice. Also, there is an excellent restaurant right next door and a bar (if you're into that). The Wi-Fi was decent too.

Had to be one of the dirtiest rooms I’ve ever stayed in, plain disgusting. We left and did not stay, waste of money.

Rooms not like in pictures. Smell in lobby was disgusting, room smelled like weed and there were cigarette burns everywhere, flat tiny pillows, sheets were nasty, surfaces of the room were dirty, latch lock broken on door, sketchy area and stupid parking lot on a steep hill, had to walk through a sketchy "breezeway" to get to our room in the back whick looked like a sewer dump area.

I booked this room to weeks advance for our trip to Florida knowing and we would need a late check in and sleep for a few hours. I wanted cheap and didn’t expect much. The room was falling apart. There was no airflow at all in the bathroom. A big king sized mattress laid next to the door just dumped outside of the room. But I didn’t care about that, I didn’t go into this room for luxury. I called two days in advance to check and my sure everything was good for the stay. I also asked if there was a way to make sure I could get a room on the first floor since it said there was no elevator. The man that answered the phone said “yes we can arrange that and have you booked for a first floor room.” I said “great! My elderly mother just had heart surgery and would not be able to go up stairs.”
Well when I checked in, which was arohnd 11:15pm, we were directed that our room was up the big stairs. Every room was booked. We were too tired to have to find another room. I had to help my poor mother up the stairs while carrying my 28lb baby up the stairs also. When I checked out, I talked to the man how upset about this arrangement I was. I asked him, “I want you to think about your mother or father, would you be upset?” I requested to speak with the owner, or the person that I needed to speak to abojt this and he tells me “he doesn’t live here but I can give him your number”
Never received a call.
So don’t expect nice. Don’t expect clean. Don’t expect quiet

I stayed 2 nights with no AC. Went to the front desk multiple times complaining and he just kept coming and tripping the breaker on the plug the compressor would come on at first and then would shut back off in a couple minutes. It got to the point where i had to trip my own breaker over and over just to keep some air flowing but woke up sweating both mornings. Cant believe they would not put me in another room. TERRIBLE PLACE TO STAY!
