cockroaches. many. in the bathroom primarily. they ranged from tiny ant-sized to the size of an almond. not "palmetto bugs", but roaches. I chose this one as the middle-range option for the area. though $100 apparently does not get you roach-free living in lumberton. hotels.com should remove this listing from the website.

I wish I could give better ratings, due to the cleanliness of the exterior, room appeared to be clean, but we found 2 cockroaches, one in the bathroom in the night (didn’t use our toothbrushes after that…) and one on top the microwave, which we had a bag on and had to make sure it was clear of any more. The included continental breakfast was subpar. A few mini muffins, make yourself waffles (only plus) regular coffee, milk in a gallon jug, and orange flavored juice. Not sure we could trust the safety of those 2 items. No hot water for the tea bags, no fruit or yogurts, of which are typical when we’ve stayed at other Red Roof Inns. We decided to go elsewhere to eat. Late night staff was very sweet and friendly, morning staff didn’t even greet us. If and when we travel through that area again, we’ll be passing this hotel by and pay a little more to get better accommodations. We know this an economical place to stay, but roaches are a big NOPE!

Compared to the area the hotel is located... I would say it is average for the area. It is located rifht pff the hwy and easy to get to but there is a lot of construction and the area in general is run down and mediocre. Our room had a spot in the ceiling from water damage from a previous storm. Their maintence team was already working on checking and repairing the roof. The sheets hat cigerate burn holes. The room smelt like it had been smoked in amd there were beer cans left from previous tenants..... however.... this hotel was cheap and the staff was super nice and everything was clean. If you are lookomg for a one night crash spot on a lomg trip its good for that.... for a long stay you might want to look elsewhere.

BUGS EVERYWHERE! I arrived at midnight hoping to get a few hours of sleep. The "night window" which was like a bank teller should have been my first clue that this place wasn't a normal hotel and was more likely a "per hour" rental kind of place. The hallways smell like a combination of mildew and cigarettes. The room had a combination of dead bugs including spiders and their spiderwebs, roaches and other small bugs. Once you turned the light on, the live bugs scrambled and when turning it off again, the walls began to move with live bugs. It's as terrible as it sounds!
When I returned to the "night window" the attendant commented that that was strange because "they just sprayed that room," indicating that management is well aware of the bug issue in this hotel. The attendant gave me a second room which also had bugs as well as cigarette burns on the bedspread. Checking under the bed, I found cobwebs from lack of cleaning and liquor bottles!
I've never experienced such a horrid place and was forced to abandon my reservation, losing $120 in the process, and driving 30 minutes to the next nearest available room.
Avoid!

Excessive Noise all night from Neighboring tenants and their pets. The homeless that were sleeping on the premises should have been given rooms rather than loitering. Cockroaches were discovered in the room upon our entry. Dust and dog hair in room as well - did not appear cleaned. The adjoining room door was constantly being fiddled with by the neighboring guests - waking us and our quiet dog. We were so disappointed that we packed and left the property before 4am. The front desk person was at least very nice.

There was stains on the bed cover. The ac unit leaked a huge puddle of water on the floor next to our bed and table. We were told to just throw some towels on it. That it happens because of the AC. Then we asked for more towels and was told they only had 2 to give us. The ironing board was stained and dirty. The breakfast offered was literally muffins , cereal but no milk, waffles to make yourself but no butter. That’s it. The bathtub was stained dirty.

The front desk staff are super nice. Fixed a billing error from Expedia and even called me to say it was taken care of.
The room is a typical room. Fridge microwave, etc. Very clean.
The downside, and not the property’s fault, but people hanging around their cars, beeping horns, running down the halls until all hours.

The room was nice and the bed was comfy with a nice staff. Only downside was the lack of soap that was refilled for me to take a shower. Luckily I brought some in to use

This property was perfect for what we needed...a place to sleep while driving to Florida. While it wasn't perfect, it fit the bill. (Bedspread had stains)Check in was a breeze, a nice hot shower, clean sheets and towels and a good night sleep. Breakfast not too great. Dog friendly... And dog was free!

If you are staying in Lumberton this is a great option. Super nice people, nice restaurant and bar close by, VERY clean room, comfortable bed, surprisingly quiet given proximity to interstate/roads. Don’t let the security measures scare you…it is a nice place.

Both check in and check out friendly and easy. Hotel was clean, simple, and pet friendly which was the best for us. Great Mexican food right down the street and easy on/off 95.
What made it for me was the people at check in the were so kind and helpful.

Our only disappointment was that the room reeked of cigarettes. I find it remotely offensive when others think only of themselves. The property is a nonsmoking building and should be treated as such. Thankfully, we were given another room as soon as we reported the smell.

It was terrible. Roaches everywhere. Extremely dirty, checked out in middle of the night the first night.

The room was clean. The micro fridge and microwave was a huge bonus. The bed was clean and comfortable. And the room was spacious
