I am deeply dissatisfied with my recent stay. While I could have overlooked the dated condition of the roomāsuch as dirty grouting in the bathroom, holes in the walls, and worn carpetingāthe service and overall experience were far below any acceptable standard of hospitality.
Despite booking and paying for a family room, clearly specifying that a child would be present, we were placed in a room directly above the function room and bar. Loud music continued well past midnight, making it impossible to rest. My partner had to approach staff five times before we were finally offered an alternative room at 11:45 p.m., which was still unsuitable as it only had a double bed instead of the double and single bed arrangement we needed.
To make matters worse, I am 33 weeks pregnant, and we were traveling with our 3-year-old son. With a 3:30 a.m. wake-up for an early flight, the lack of rest left us completely exhausted and overwhelmed.
What disappointed me most was the lack of consideration and proactive customer care. It should not take repeated complaints and late-night disruptions to resolve an issue that could have been avoided with better planning and attention to guest needs. This experience was unacceptable, and I hope future guests are treated with greater care.

Unfortunately this was a disappointing stay. The room was cold and the heating was on low and then went off and never came back on.
Bathroom ceiling was black and full of mould which made the bathroom smell.
I advised on check out and was met with did you ring down I advised that there are no phones in the room contact to reception. To be met with, you have a phone don't you.

For the price this place is alright if you just need somewhere half decent.
Rooms are clean but everything is very worn around the edges and the lift often breaks down.
The shower was all or nothing and ran way too much water, and towels were changed every day, so not very eco friendly or economical.

Tv not working
Told reception Maria and was assured she would sort it or change rooms, Spa not open, went to David Lloyd, back after 2 hours, Maria had left and done nothing, then told they could do anything or change rooms, mattress was tired with springs sticking through room 113, very limited menu and couldnāt do veg options, took taxi to dine out

Staff very friendly & helpful. Bed uncomfortable & decoration tired & peeling paint.

Nice hotel, just off the M42 / M6.
2.5
Comfortable room, clean. Friendly staff. Good location.
1.5
The communal areas ok and the staff are helpful. The room however is in need of an overhaul with paint flaking from the skirting board and obvious mould growth in the bathroom
2.5
Great stay, good location for my needs and friendly staff.

This hotel has a regular LOUD Friday night disco until MIDNIGHT! I was 3 floors up and with windows closed, felt the rumble of the boom boom boom, heard the music and the DJ talking, and then at midnight loud groups leaving and waiting for taxis for the next 15 minutes. Even a drunk bloke singing loudly to himself. Outrageous! Poor night's sleep, and I will ask for a refund via hotels.com. I have several videos for evidence. Oh. And the lift was out of order to top it all off.

Hotel is comfortable and just needs a facelift.

Ideal for what we wanted and close enough to the NEC

The hotel room was adequate for a single nights stay. Generally a very tired looking hotel but clean nevertheless. Shower head was weirdly placed so could not use properly due to poor design. Also, not a great idea to have smokers sit right outside the front door.

Generally worst hotel I have stayed at for a while

My first room was very tired. Carpet was several different shades of brown with burned in marks from someone leaving an iron on the carpet.
The bathroom was also showing signs of desperately needing renovation. No toilet roll (I guess because the holder had fallen off so they forgot). The bathroom also had a really bad smell, maybe stagnant water. Not sure.
I asked to move after the first night. Reception didn't apologise at all, just wanted to double check what kind of room I had so they didn't accidentally upgrade me as I moved.
Second room was better, carpet had clearly been changed semi-recently so less inclined to keep my shoes on the whole time.
Bed was clean and comfortable enough.
Aside from the experience with reception staff when I was moving everyone else was really lovely.
Wouldn't recommend, even for the price.

I believe this to be one of the worst stays I had with my partner on the weekend. We both looked forward to a romantic trip this weekend and had booked the Friday and Saturday.
I twice called downstairs to speak to the receptionist about the smell in one of the corridors and no one decided to pick up the phone.
The fire alarm also woke me up at 6am Sunday morning and as I was just getting back to sleep, it went off again at 6:30am. I spoke to the receptionist about it and he basically didnāt seem interested in what I had to say.
It was a shame really as me and my partner believed this would be a very good hotel to spend our anniversary but unfortunately it was not to be.

Where do I start?
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
Service was dreadful - The lady on reception PUNISHED me for having the temerity to ask to change rooms as my TV was not working,it stank and I was next to a boiler.
I was put in a room at far end of building with no wifi and a bed direct from an overcrowded Ecudoarian jail cell.
The mattress was over 40 year old (I sell beds - I know)
Breakfast is the most undercooked sausage and bacon ever.
A VILE place with simply the worst receptionist in history .

We checked in late 23:20pm ish. With out young daughter. The receptionist was quite rude and seem like she did not want to deal with us. After that we got the the room what a disgusting disgrace the carpet was worn through to the underlay. The room smelt like no1 had cleaned it (sweaty B.O ) cheesy feet kind of smell. Then the toilet seat would fall off each time you put it back and tighten it up. The toilet door would not lock because someone has broken it. The list goes on and on and the staff just donāt seem to care in the slight. What a major embarrassment of a hotel. Needs closing down and refurbishing or best off staying closed.

Receptionist was amazing. But my god the room was rubbish the bed was leaning to 1 side. The mattress springs were broken the whole bed needed replacing. Iām surprised it aināt been closed down yet. Bar staff could not be bothered. And when you asked for something. It seem like to much effort. Not being funny but they are paid to do the job so why accept the vacancy if you wonāt do it to the best of their abilities. Iām going to make sure everyone I know up and down the country never stays as I donāt want them to have the same experience. I honestly hand on heart feel an apology IS NOT good enough and compensation should be given.

The room was very disappointing and basic
Not a reflection of the overall look & feel
Harry Bar looked great as did the cafe room
So we had high hopes for the room. We got quite a shock, the room was basic, curtains looked like something I had as a student
Bath was filthy
Bathroom was old fashioned and clearly not maintained

Very nice , good food, entertainment was a bonus

Over priced itās like being in a nursing home or maybe a mental heath ward. No1 seems to care. Customers included one of the worst hotels around.

The bed did not have a mattress orotector on and the matress including sheet had stains on (dont want to know what off) shower head was full of limescale and didnt come out properly pillow case was stained to death pillow protector had hairs embedded in it as did the matress top very outdated furniture like from a very elderly persons house back in the day we also annoyingly got woken up by the fire alarm which had went off as soon as we skimpered clothes on to leave and nothing was said about it nor was i asked how my stay was, a hostel would probleys have been a better stay

Hotel looked tired, lift not working had to carry our own bags.
0.5
Poor hotel which has not reinvested evidently in years. Lift was broken with a piece of paper that looked like it had been there a while.
Beds are so worn there is no support whatsoever. And the highlight, mould all over the bathroom as evidenced from the picture. Should be shut down for health reasons.

Unfortunately, this hotel has gone down significantly. Firstly, there was noone on the desk to check in. Had to wait ages for someone to come. The hallways and bedrooms smelt really badly and the rooms are just tired and aged. Vile

Room was a good size for a family of 4. Hotel was lovely. Jack at Reception was friendly and professional. The only negative was the shower. The water was too hot to shower under. Jack was made aware in the morning and compensated us accordingly. Very happy with this. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel and room were to be expected for the price. The hotel is a no frills typical 3 star. The food was nice and the bar area has been done up well. The lift was not working and as I was told is very ātemperamentalā so do not expect it to be working when you stay.

I didn't expect too much, as the hotel was a cheap option as a stop on business. It managed to deliver below my low expectation. The first interaction that you have is to be charged Ā£10 for parking. I searched online for a hotel with parking, and I would likely have chosen a different option. The first thing that you experience at this hotel is a mugging. The room was nothing like the pictures. Dated, awful furniture and a bed that might has passed as a trampoline. Just dismal. There were doors banging until the small hours, and this started again in the morning. No soft close mechanisms. The large gap at the bottom of the door ensured that light came in from the corridor so the room was never dark. In the morning the shower didn't work so I had to have a bath, but at least the water was warm. Nothing about this hotel makes me ever want to go back. As someone else has noted you are not asked how your stay was when you check out. They know.

I stay here often; and will continue to, but some of the rooms are in desperate need of a refurbish.
Good is excellent, especially breakfast, but service is rather poor from the waitresses.
Needs some work, but remains to be a good value and well located hotel.
2.0
No WIFI coverage in the room and lights not working.

Firstly I was charged Ā£10 to park even though the only reason you would be there is to stay at the hotel. Just add Ā£10 to the rate.
The receptionist was very rude and did not provide any details or information about the hotel.
The room was extremely dated, run down and damaged in places. The bed was the worst I have ever slept on.
2.5
Friendly staff, quick check in and a clean room

We stayed in a room that was not refurbished. The mattress had no springs, it was older than me?
Very basic. But clean and the bar and restraunts were newly refurbed.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the Regency for a business trip. This time around we booked it last minute as our original hotel in Coleshill was awful and we had enjoyed our previous stay here. There is plenty of parking on site, they've added more electric car ports since the last time, even though we don't have one it's good to see. The staff are very friendly, rooms are clean and spacious with comfy beds, fresh towels and decent sized TV. The attached bar and restaraunt is fantastic, a little pricey but expected from a hotel bar and restaraunt. The food however is amazing so it definitely felt worth the price again with friendly staff.
4.0
Perhaps more modernised. Cupboards very old. Bathroom outdated.
