Rooms can be updated and didn't like that the guest hung out in hallway

Property was unkempt and in disrepair no human presence at the front desk had to check in via kiosk because they were at the desk

You check in at a kiosk they add charges to my card without authorization place is dirty. I could go on and on.

We had no tv connection. Maintenance was not on duty when we arrived so sleeping in the dark was not enjoyable.

What was unique about this hotel is that they had a kiosk in the lobby to do the check in and check out and not a real person, and you have to speak with someone in the screen at the kiosk when you arrive or leave the hotel, When my brother in law did his check in a representative name Isaac asked for the payment method. He opted to pay cash for two nights a total of $289. He Inserted 3 one hundred dollar bills, and didn’t get a receipt. Then he charged my credit car with the same amount a credit card that I used ONLY to make the reservation and I did not authorized to pay for the room because he paid cash, meaning they charged twice for the same room. When we asked Isac why he said that my credit card will be refund. three days passed and they have not refund my money. I will have to dispute with my credit card company.
The ice maker was dirty and broken without ice, and there is not a real person to speak to about these things on the kiosk “computer” . The kiosk was useless, the representative incompetent and no customer service orientation whatsoever. I’ll make sure my friends and family won’t go through this horrible experience, booking at this Howard Johnson by Wyndham.

I never checked in once I saw the rooms and the hallways. No one at the counter just a teller on video. That was very eerie and impersonal.

The pool was nice, room was just that, smelly halls. But it was a good price. That is all i can say

Property under renovation items left in room fridge and paint residue on desk floor was sticky and no live person to talk to in person it was a check in kiosk and checked with in 1 hr of getting there

The room was not nice at all. There were bugs crawling around in the room. The furniture was nasty, the sliding door was not locking properly, and it smelled terrible. We ended up leaving the last night of our stay early. Was not enjoyable!

Our hair dryer in the room had mold growing on it, the ceiling above the shower was falling apart.
When we went out yesterday we put the DO NOT DISTURB tag on the outside of the door (meaning no thanks to housekeeping where i came from) but house keeping came in anyways. The doors on the outside didn't latch so anybody could've came thru even if they aren't staying there.. not very safe if ya ask me!!

The only problem we had.oitside Doors tto rooms should be locked with entry ony by room key.. anyone can enter rooms and try to open access a room to someone staying there..Know the hotel is still under renovation so hopefully this will be fixed when we return. Otherwise loved our stay, view, atmosphere

Overall the stay was good. The pillows did not seem to be the cleanest that may have had stains. The hot water was good but you had to keep it in the middle or you could burn yourself. The AC did not seem to get the whole room cold, it was cool keeping it at 61 but did not feel like 61 unless you were near it. The breakfast was really good. The pool was a perfect temp. I do know there is remodeling going on so that is why i gave a overall good rating. Being so close to parris island i would recommend having folding portable beds incase new marines have to stay over a night after graduation. Unfortunetly that is not an option.

I was never informed of putting a security deposit and there’s a good reason they won’t give it back. Just smells of sewer. No actual staff on property just a talking human in a screen from wherever they’re actually located. The pictures are really convincing. Luckily we needed it for one night and it was enough to meet requirements of two beds a toilet and a shower.

Please do not stay here! I’m not one to leave a review unless it’s BAD. The front office smells like curry so bad it’s overwhelming. The walk to the room was full of garbage. They have a strict no smoking policy but the entire place was overwhelmed with stale cigarette smoke and cleaning products. The room itself was dirty. Cigarette burns on the comforter. A floor that hasn’t been mopped in who knows how long. Dirty walls and headboards and the sliding door was so dirty you couldn’t look outside. There’s no human interaction at the desk it’s all by a computer so when going to the desk to ask for different sheets you may or may not get someone. The breakfast area was filthy. There was dust packed on top of the cereal containers and flys just swarming the food. I’m not even looking for a refund I’m just warning others that this is NOT the place to stay. I also have a pictures of everything described in my review.

There was no one to great us. It was a computer. We were not notified that we had to leave a hundred dollar deposit. During the storm our room got water all over the floor, and when they switched us to a different room it had a smaller bed. No compensation for any of it. Will never stay there again

The check in was nothing personal, you checked in by a screen. I like talking to a person that is in front of me. The hall ways were musty and smelled of marijuana. The side door on the 2nd floor didn’t lock after you closed it. Anyone could get in at any time, unsafe. The rooms however were not bad.

Poor maintenance. Unsafe stairs, smelly hallways, old mattresses (hole in the middle), noisy AC, etc. The place is not worth it!!!

The check in on an electronic screen was terrible. The guys wouldn't let me husband check us in, even though he was listed as a guest on the room. Then when I went inside to check in, the guy attempted to flirt with me.. super unprofessional.
Then we were told that they were out of the room we booked... so he "upgraded" us to a room with two queen beds... which is not an upgrade from a king bed for my husband and I.
The property itself could you some renovating. However the room was nice, comfortable beds and a beautiful view.

My first night someone dropped food in the hall it was there after i checked out days later other than that pool was perfect office and breakfast was clean and very fresh beds nice water hot and pressure perfect i will be staying again next week all week steps going to uper floor dangerous to hight need to be inspected hurt my knees

I made my reservation on line and I reserved a king room. On the day we were to arrive, while enroute to the motel I
received a phone call to tell me that I wouldn't be getting a king room as they were all down being remodeled. I would have moved to another motel for a king room if I had been told sooner. We were very disappointed we didn't get the original reserved room.

The pictures that are advertising this motel is far from what it actually looks like. The door to the entry way to get to your room was unlocked which is so dangerous because anyone can come in. We checked in just to give the room a chance but it smelled so strong of smoke and just looked dirty. We didn’t even get a refund for the first day because we “stayed the one night” but in reality we left and had to pay way extra to stay somewhere else. Very disappointed

The check in was less than desirable with glitches in software causing the virtual agent to go dark with no notification to me until he returned to the screen.
Room keys just randomly stopped working so at the worst possible time, I had to stop and go to the on screen virtual agent to get another.
Room was not clean. Floor was dirty. Bedspread had a cigarette hole in it. Chair was all scratched.
The room door had a 1 inch crack at the bottom causing mosquitoes and other bugs to get in.
I booked this hotel for the Wyndam name orherwise i would never have stayed in a Howard Johnson.
The morning I left, i could not even get to the "breakfast" because the hotel staff or residents (who knows) had it all tied up. That was the only day I was there for "breakfast".
The bed was horrible. Very worn out. The pillows were definitely old. There was hair all over the bathroom floor.
I never have an issue paying a pet fee because I have a very trained animal. But I hope they use the $75 non refundable fee that I paid for the disgusting room I had to actually CLEAN THE ROOM!!!!
I PLAN TO ALSO PUT THIS ON MY GOOGLE LOCAL GUIDE PAGE TO ENSURE NO ONE STAYS THERE!
And you should advise people BEFORE they reserve that there is actually NO ONE WORKIMG THE FRONT DESK. ITS ALL DOND THROUGH A VIRTUAL PERSON.

Kiosk for a clerk for check in,
He said someone would fix pancake machine. No one ever came. Could not swim in the pool because it was shut down due to maintenance problems. The door were not secure to get inside the building. The hallways were so dark and were not lite. The outside where you sit to look at the marsh was trashy. Someone threw up and it was Trenton am sure days.

This was an ok place to stay. The bed was comfortable and the view at the back of the hotel was beautiful but the whole room needed a deep clean.

There was no live person at the desk. Virtual check in. Huge language barrier with Person virtually checking us in. Kiosk too loud. Property reeked of weed smell. Hallway was musky and moldy smelling. Within 30 minutes of arriving in room we saw 3 roaches. Poop smeared on the wall. Hand prints on the headboard. Nothing had been wiped down in a while. We wiped everything down with baby wipes we had and the wipes were so nasty after. Appears to be people living on the property that the raised red flags for us. We did not feel safe at all. It was myself, my daughter and my 10 month old grand baby walking to our room most of the time as my son in law was usually out fishing. Breakfast was horrible. Stocked at 6am for the start of breakfast and never refilled throughout the breakfast period. Come in a little later, you get what you get. TV not working. Phones not working due to not having a live person at desk. Have to ask kiosk for everything. Asked for towels and wash cloths from housekeeping. Got major attitude. Had to ask kiosk for washcloths the next day. He said he would send house keeping up with some. The never showed. I sent my son in law to Walmart to purchase washcloths. I’ve stayed here several times over 10 years. I have NEVER had this experience here. We will not be back. I will happily take my business to another establishment. I’ve stayed in some pretty crappy places but this one takes the trophy for the all time worse.

Upon Initial arrival people were cussing on the premises. Was greeted by a virtual kiosk with a 100$ deposit. Upon arriving to my room there was bugs on the ceiling. The beds were filled with stains, and fake nails. What made us decide to leave was the sight of cockroachs in the bathroom corner. We then requested a immediate refund, and was told to contact expedia for said refund. We are stranded in South Carolina 😟

The property seems to be under renovation. In its current state, I would NEVER stay there again. The check in process is done through a kiosk in the lobby. No human interaction. No vending machines. No available food or beverages. Claims to be “No Smoking” but that didn’t stop the crew hanging out smoking and drinking beer in the common areas. Overall, NOT a good experience.
