The staff was excellent. The beds were comfortable. The wash rags smelled like wet dogs. The windows seals in thebathroom were dirty and the room felt closed in and cold. Went to the restaurant and was only offered water to drink and burger or sandwich to eat. Iverall the entire hotel needs to be updated. Its extremely out dated. I will not be staying thete again. Ordered delivery and they werent allowed to being it to the room. We had to be called to the lobby to pick it up.

This is an average hotel. The service was good. I have no issue with the employees there. However, the hotel itself is an older hotel. I did not notice this until e were going to sleep, but there is a huge gap under the door to our room. This is fire hazard as well as a safety issue for occupants

Great location, restaurant was good and employees were all very nice.

The hotel was OK, but wanting to charge $25 to check in an hour early isn’t. It’s just a more polite way of telling your customers to FU. Message received, and I won’t be coming back.

The hotel is dated but I love the original architectural details. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great! Honestly would stay here again.

We had a clima processor banging back of our bed The Hole night. We could not close it. We did not close an eye for 5 minuts 😩

This hotel is in an older building in downtown Birmingham. It is within walking distance to several restaurants and the BJCC. The desk and valet staff were friendly and accommodating. If I am in Birmingham again, I will stay here.

My family and I have been staying in the area while visiting other family at the UAB hospital. We stayed here 1 night and it was absolutely fantastic! Beautiful building, comfortable and clean rooms, and friendly staff! The breakfast was also great! So we decided to stay here again the following night. While the room was still great, I couldn’t say the same about the service the secone time. The woman at the front desk seemed to be in a bad mood and it was very obvious. She was not very friendly and had a bad attitude with us at check in. There was a small mix up with our room reservations and when I had kindly mentioned it, she immediately got very defensive. I told her it was totally ok; mistakes happen. But her attitude remained the same. When she gave me the new room key she slapped it down on the counter and said “7th floor” and immediately turned away without saying another word and walked into her back office and closed the door. So that was a little disappointing. Again, I still find this place to be wonderful and will definitely recommend it to other travelers. I just hope whoever the woman was behind the desk has some better days.

This was an awful experience! The building was old and not working. The ice machine looked as if it had not been working for months. The room key worked so infrequently that I was afraid to leave my room. I slept with the lights on because of the area. I rebooked an earlier flight just to get out of that hole of a place. Stay away!

Stayed here after a concert at the BJCC. Beautiful old historic hotel that is well maintained. Walking distance to shopping and dining. Breakfast was amazing.

It was just very old the breakfast was awful. No pool just not a great experience. Not bad but not worth the money.

Just too expensive for what you are getting....while the exterior and the lobby area are beautiful and historic....the rooms are dated and honestly not worth half what I paid!

It was the dingiest Hampton Inn I stayed at.
Not up to par with other Hampton Inn's.
The room lacked amenities. their keycard system was down 3 days before I arrived and I found out about it when I arrived. I would not stay again unless I need to due to location. The room was old and many aspects of it was making the room hard to clean. There was significant dust over shelves in the bathroom.

Technology at this property is weak. Key electronics failed EVERY DAY !! The signal for the TV was inconsistent and went out completely on day 3 of 4 day stay.

It’s a nice blend of old and new. Reminiscent of the early 1900’s with a modern touch. All the staff was very nice.

Its a great hotel, you can tell that it has been recently renovated. They have missed some of the holes in the wall. However, overall it is a very nice hotel.

The hotel was beautiful. The location was downtown and across from a beautiful park. The room was large and gorgeous. The bed was so comfortable, I didn't want to leave. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only hesitation we had was the parking. When I made the reservation, I was not aware that parking was not available at the hotel, unless you valet park. We were surprised by this. We parked on the street for our stay. I think this should be highlighted when you consider this hotel. Overall, the stay was wonderful.
