First time staying there very nice very convenient very clean. I can say the hot water takes a while to get hot but other than that no complaints.

This is a nice upscale hotel. The service is warm and hospitable. The room we stayed in was roomy. The restaurant bar very good. The gym left something to be desired but we made due.
4.0 / 10.0
The staff was courteous and the hotel was clean. The bed was comfortable. It is in a good location. However, the shower head barely worked and the flow of water coming out of it was minimal. Also, the room lacked sufficient plugs and USB ports for a modern hotel.

Great stay but not so great room housekeeping. Had to call the front desk every day for little things like a towel or coffee. And once they brought up 3 floor rugs instead of bath towels. Thankfully they do provide a bathrobe which was beautiful and comfortable. Great sized room. Overall not a bad stay. Great front desk staff.

We booked two king suite studio rooms at hotel Madera to be the hub of our wedding weekend in DuPont Circle.
Pros: rooms are spacious and clean.
Cons: terrible experience during check-in. Waited until 5 pm to get keys to both rooms, check-in is supposed to be at 3pm. The wait made us late to our own Welcome Dinner. Well in advance, we requested rooms to be on the same floor due to our wedding preparations, they gave us rooms at floor 3 and 9 (not ideal). Manager did not seem apologetic about any of it. Parking is abnormally expensive for the area.
While waiting for our rooms we watched another couple get there to check-in and be denied a room because “it was cancelled 2 hrs prior to their arrival” and “should have gotten the message the hotel sent them”
Had high hopes for this hotel but the careless inadequate customer service left a bad taste in our mouth during the happiest weekend of our lives.

Enjoyed our second stay at Hotel Madera. Great location near restaurants, transportation etc. Rooms are large and very accommodating with lots of great furniture, shelves, storage spaces. We valet parked a car and it was easy and quick. We were on an upper floor and room was very quiet. Will stay here again next visit!

I had a balcony room which was good, however, being on the 2nd floor with a balcony in not ideal.

We enjoyed our trip. The balcony room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The neighbourhood was safe and we had a restful stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

The decor of the rooms is calm and relaxing, the beds are super comfortable, and the staff is cheerful and helpful. The restaurant workers and bartenders were especially charming and inviting, and we will definitely come back and stay here. One improvement would be the coffee service in the room, because there isn’t a coffee maker and there was only one caffeinated coffee teabag and I didn’t taste very good. I would strongly recommend an actual coffee maker like most hotel room have with little packets or pods for a cup of coffee and a coffee service that would serve too when you wake up in the morning since the lobby has no coffee service and on the restaurant is closed until nine to set up for brunch .

The hotel had a weird smell all throughout the halls and lobby. Our screen door to the balcony was just leaning on the patio. The bed was comfortable I will say that and location wasn’t bad but wasn’t as close to the city as I thought .

Hotel Madera was a wonderful place to stay! Staff was friendly, helpful and personable. They have an amazing cleaning staff that even called me one day I decided my room didn’t need servicing to see if I at least wanted a towel change. Rooms are so spacious, bathrooms are spotless and beds are comfortable. My only complaint would be the smell of smoke when enjoying the balcony, however as much as the hotel tries to enforce a no smoking on premise policy, people will do what they do. Overall it was a lovely stay, close to metro, shops, cvs, wine shop, coffee ect.

Hotel Madera is a quality option if you want to be a few blocks removed from the tourist crowds. You are still very well located. Our room was large and clean. The restaurant in the hotel is good but somewhat pricey. Economical options are an easy walk.
If you can't walk up 5 steps to the elevator this may be a negative although there is a chair lift. This also impacts luggage that neds yo be carried up these steps.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lobby isn’t impressive but the rooms are large, comfortable and recently updated.

Good Hotel BUT .... you think you have chosen the hotel with the best value for money... well no. when you leave, the hotel presents you with a new invoice for "Amenity fee" which, unlike some hotels that had made you hesitate during your selection, these fees were neither announced nor included in the displayed rate... in the end, the total price is higher than the hotels that you wanted more but were facially more expensive....
if I had known, I would have chosen another hotel...!

Calm low key spot away from the hustle and bustle. Very quiet! Just wish the gym had a little more to offer but I made it work.

We randomly chose this hotel since it was within walking distance to DuPont Circle. I’m so glad we stayed here. The staff were very warm and welcoming during our stay. It was convenient to have a restaurant in our hotel! The staff in the restaurant were very friendly. I also enjoyed the convenience of the filter water/sparkling water station on our floor!!

Check in was awesome but my room would not get cool until Friday night we checked in Thursday July 11, 2024 and the room didn’t get cool until the 12th later on that night and the valet was terrible front desk forgot to let valet kno to get my vehicle it took a hour to bring me my car then they say it’s a no smoking hotel but people was smoking on their balcony’s anyways! Then this morning while we were sleeping and somebody threw something and broke our balcony door remind you were on the fourth floor I didn’t feel safe!! The hotel is expensive $700 for an uncomfortable stay oh and don’t forget all the hidden fees they hit u with!! Swear the Wi-Fi and water is free but they charge you $25 dollars for hidden amenities that cover your he Wi-Fi and bottle of waters they give u I would not stay here again

When we was doing our booking it said this was a smoke friendly hotel,we get there it say no smoking.. the valet was slow & forgot to go get our car one time. Almost $700 I atleast expect some free breakfast or something we got a balcony & still couldn’t smoke outside, then the front desk offering water got us thinking it’s free but it’s actually not , WiFi wasn’t free like what was the purpose of the $700. First night we got there we tried to cancel it or get a refund because we wasn’t comfortable with the hotel and lastly someone or something broke her sliding door like somebody threw something where’s the safety at??
5.0 / 10.0
Spacious room with nice-sized balcony, comfortable bed, amazing water pressure in the shower, super friendly staff, quiet room/hallways, convenient location. Our two dogs stayed free and were treated well. Valet took a while to retrieve our vehicle each time. No microwave in the room. and in the July D.C. humidity, it was difficult to feel the AC at night, even at its lowest temp. None of those cons were a deal-breaker, though. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay here. The only think that annoyed me that should be mentioned when booking is that parking is NOT provided at the hotel. Overnight parking costs $55 per night. Pretty high prices for the amount you’re already paying to stay at the hotel.

There are several good things to say about this hotel;
Pluses: Safe neighborhood, several restaurants and eateries around the hotel, big room (400 Sq ft)
Negatives: only one elevator was working during 7 day stay, cleaning service is subpar, very small exercise room, 3 steps to get to elevator (and carry your luggage) in entrance

This hotel was really great. It had just the right amount of amenities, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the location is great.
