Heater was broken and it was in the 20’s outside. So my room was frigid. I booked a king but got two queens. That turned out to be a blessing because one bed was so uncomfortable it felt like plywood with sheets on it. I did not have enough blankets for the coldness of the room. The carpet did not look clean at all but the bed clothes were fine. Then breakfast was only instant oatmeal or cold cereal. I was traveling for work, exhausted, and in need of a few hours of sleep. I wish I would have napped in my car.

Bigots and hatred

The standard king room smelled of smoke, the bed sheet and floor err stained and very out dated circa the mid 70’s, and the room had no phone or elevator for disabled guests. My partner and I were there looking at new homes for a place to live so the second day we extended our plans and given a hard time for not coming down to inform them of our plans at 11 but we were in the furthest possible room without a phone and both have physical issues that prove to be hard to walk such distances! The third day we again slept past our check out and tried to extend our stay but didn’t know there was a problem with our bank and while we were getting it resolved we were again startled by hard knocking at our door and this time by the sheriff who said that the owner wanted us gone or being charged with trespassing. We left and then we were told that one of us looked like he was on drugs the night before which was anxiety medication and had our prescription bottles with us! We were trying to get away from a drug area but ultimately being gay was the reason we were kicked out by the sheriff! I left an important medication in the refrigerator and they tried to say that they found a drug pipe which was not ours and they threw away the medicine bottle that was clearly prescribed with the label on it! Do not stay here if you don’t want to fall into a time warp with a town of bigotry and hatred! Ridiculous that no matter how nice you are to others the hate for being different is still alive!

Squeaky floor.

Was good overall everything was superb only was little noisy first night on a scale 1-10 I rate it 7

It's kind of a dump. The interior is dingy, with stained carpets in the hallway and scuffed woodwork in the room. The shower faucet handle came off in my hand. The hallway has a funky smell. The breakfast is pitiful, with moldy packaged danish and no fresh fruit. Security for the front desk was great with the clerk behind plexiglas, but for the rest of the building nonexistent. The AC unit was noisy. The window screens are tattered, and the hallway and parking lot lights shine right under the door and window. By Hancock PA standards it's probably about as good as you'd expect, but overall really meh.

Dated damp smelling room. Only breakfast option was cereal. Tv in room didn’t work. Rom was clean fr being old. All staff was pleasant and helpful

Room appeared clean however it had a very strong musty smell. There were no tissues in the bathroom. The TV remote was repaired so many times it was difficult to use. The air conditioning unit had something black along the top that could have been mold, not sure. Breakfast, what a joke. Not only was there little to eat but the area was filthy. One example is the external pump coffee pot was full of coffee stains at 0800. Many bathroom tiles were broken.Staff was pleasant!

Full two stars as rated, older building needs refresh but room was clean. No elevator for second floor, a bit of a hike for higher numbered rooms.

Poor lighting in the room. Bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was way below par. Coffee and a few pastries in grocery wrapping. The staff person, Amber, was very friendly and helpful

Thanks for a safe and clean room !!

Room was clean, good water pressure and didn't hear the highway noise. Hallway and the room smelled like wet dogs. Carpet odor remover only helped a little. The bathroom door has to remain close due to being in the way of the door for the room. Had a strong sewer smell had to make sure the shower drain was completely closed after showering to reduce the smell.

There was no refrigerator as advertised. No coffee maker in the rooms and the coffee in the”continental breakfast” was unrecognizable as coffee. Room advertised as “smoking” only to find out, it wasn’t.

Everything was fine.

We found bugs in the hotel room, the “breakfast” was little Debbie desserts, orange juice and cereal. The sheets were not the cleanest and honestly if it wasn’t for how tired I was after driving all day I wouldn’t of stayed

They had a bike wash, we greatly appreciated having clean bikes for our next days ride. Plus, they had towels for us to dry off the bikes. Only place along the trail that offered this.

Was biking through on the trail so the hotel with a comfy bed and a shower was a welcome stop. They did allow us to keep our bikes with us in the room which I appreciated. The breakfast was pretty non-existent ( had oatmeal, cereal and 1 type of granola bar, that was it). It was quiet though. It was pretty clean. Bathroom had some peeling paint, but it appeared they did attempt to make improvements.

This was a clean place that was pet friendly. It has seen better days.

Breakfast was two bins of cereal, one was empty. Then there were some hostess cakes that were broken up. Staff was pleasant and recommended a local spot. I’d suggest cutting the breakfast offering altogether rather than promising breakfast and only having a single kind of cereal, no fruit or anything to go with it. My room was ok and the property was quiet. Grimy doors and could use recaulking around the sink but the linens were clean and bed was fine.

It is older, but clean. There is nothing around the area and no pool. Could only stay in the room and the tv was so bad to operate and change Chanel’s. Since that’s all to do around there. This was the 1st time I ever asked to change my room. They did and the tv was hazy. It’s not at all the staffs fault. Also I am a Wyndham owner.

This Super 8 is a good choice. The guy that checked us in was awesome and very accommodating. Very limited grab and go breakfast. Hotel is bike friendly after riding the C&O. This is a very basic hotel that does the job and I recommend it.

Wonderful accommodation - I will definitely stay there again!

The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Quiet location.
We were there on business (in Berkeley Springs WV) and the drive is a convenient 15 minutes.
The breakfast is minimal.
We will definitely return next year.

Room was nice & clean. Front desk lady was rude. I reserved a double, she gave me a single. Had to go get a different room.

Old hotel was best I could find in Hancock. I’d probably travel to Berkeley Springs the next time. No major problems. The check-in staff was friendly just not a lot around the hotel/area and really old facility with zero amenities. They did provide a hose/towels for our bikes which was super nice.

Amber at the front desk was outstanding: very congenial, knowledgeable of things to do in Hancock, convenience stores and restaurants.

Never staying at super 8 again. Blankets had holes paint was peeling off wall.

It was ok for the price, fairly clean and in working condition. Was a bit surprized by lack of elevator and Handicap ramp (not for me but the coukd be people who need it). AC did not really worked (was not able to manually control it). Breakfast is a shame, but Hei, hotel fee was low

It was a stop over so booked at last minute. We were charged more for dogs than on the website. Breakfast was awful - there was basically coffee and pre wrapped pastry.
4.0
Good basic property to stay over night or two. Do not overestimate breakfast - practically no food if come >1 hour before closing, but yes coffee and hot water for tea
3.0
Poor lighting- no desk lamp so unable to work at night. Internet was out frequently. Staff was friendly and tried to help.

Hard to find being buried under a three-way Intersection of Interstate highways going N, E and W . Should put up signs with the Super-8 emblem to help people to find it. It took me two hours and about 35 miles to finally get on the right road in Hancock where it is located. NEEDS road side signage with arrows!

Friendly staff. No real breakfast though which was disappointing
