The exterior looks great. The rooms are awful. We had several rooms, as we were traveling for an event, so we had a good view of multiple rooms. One room had underwear and a to-go box left behind. The front desk was great about moving that room. Another room had a piece of bread come out of the fold out couch. Another room's lights didn't work. Another room's bathtub flooded and the curtains looked like a murder scene, as there were red stains on them. Mutliple room had old batteries in the smoke alarm, which led to the constant beeping. Also, multiple rooms' couches were stained and some looked like male excrement. If this was one room, maybe they could get a benefit of the doubt. However, we had seven rooms and they all had issues. There needs to be a real look into the cleaning of these rooms. This is total false advertising, as the pictures show a false narrative of the reality of these rooms. Front desk was helpful, but the room were discusting and we all felt dirtier for staying in them.

The exterior is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are outdated and run down. Not even five minutes into our arrival in our room maintenance barged in with no warning or knocking. Asking if our shower wasn’t working. Come to his realization he was at the wrong room. They do appear to be doing work. We heard drilling from the room above at 10pm. Even though they have “quiet” during 11pm-6am guess it meets the time frame but an fyi for those earlier sleepers. The bed was comfortable the first night but was so hard after the second night my back was hurting. The thermostat was at a set temperature of 75 unable to change. Leaving the room stuffy and hot during our stay. When taking a shower we were only provided two towels for our party of three, they were so thin I was scared they were going to disintegrate from the water of dry my body after the shower. I tried to call the front desk for towels, to my discover of the phone apparently only being decorative and with no cord attached. The complementary breakfast was very small portions and the lady serving was rude. Don’t dare take your own coffee mug you’ll get yelled at. We were expecting Frosted Flakes as labeled but got corn flakes. My husband also got food poisoning, he ate the eggs and sausage he was the only one that ate thankfully. Two stars for exterior historic beauty and the lady at the front desk being helpful upon arrival.

The photos online certainly portrayed a different feel than the actual property. While the front lobby looks alright, the second we drive around the building

We check in Friday night we out to get food came back to the room and found several roaches and spiders on counter. At least 10 roaches found in the room went to the front office because no one answered the phone. They upgraded me to the second floor two king size beds, but it seems this room was in an area where maintenance worked. There were bikes on the balcony the sliding glass door did not lock, did not receive room service Requested a new set of towels, and I had to walk all the way to The front office to get towels. In an afterthought, this Hotel had four star rating. I highly disagree.

AVOID! We stayed at the Vanllee Hotel in Covina CA from 9/25 to 10/1. Our stay at this hotel was not pleasant to say the least.
1. For starters, the AC was not working most of the time. The first time I talked to someone at the front desk, I was told it was the whole building, which it did eventually come back on. The second time, I was told that maintenance would come up and check. We waited all afternoon/evening, and no one showed up. AC eventually came on the next day at some point. After that, it was out again. The next day I complained about the AC not working once again, I was told it that the whole building. That night my friend ended up getting a severe asthma attack and almost called for an ambulance because the room was so hot and stuffy (even with the window and door open at night). Monday, our room got up to 80 degrees and we had to leave just to get away from the heat. Thankfully the AC was working again before we had to check out the next morning.
2. The internet was spotty at best. I brought my laptop for work and was not able to do much at all because the signal was so weak that my computer (and both our cell phones) kept bounding off the signal.
3. The hot tub was not working, which we were really looking forward to.
4. Turns out the in-house restaurant is not open. According to the website, it's still there and functional.
5. There was a breakfast, but it was minimal at best.
6. No vending machines, ice machines, or laundry machines.
SO MANY MORE ISSUES!

The heat did not work, thankfully the days were warm so there was natural heat. The hot water stopped working but they fixes it once I reported the problem.

Love this hotel for its location, its affordable rates and its comfort. This was my 3rd time staying here and highly recommend it.

This was a nightmare.
I spent three nights and my room was never made.
I spent three nights and I had to pay for four. Because the manager did not want to listen to Hotels.com request when it was obvious that a mistake had been made on the booking dates. I never met a contempt thaht this one from a manager in my whole life. His clients are not human beings, he only knows their credit card.

Overall it was very well. Relaxing. I didn’t have crazy guests jumping around in the rooms next to us or above us. The staff were super friendly.

Worse hotel ive ever been to.
The matress had blood stains in it. They wouldn’t accommodate us in another room saying it was booked. But there was no one at the hotel. Bath tub had mold and was rusty and dirty. Breakfast is a Joke. They’re supposed to open at 7. It was 7:30 and it was locked. No one was there. Coffee was cold and the person stated she had just made it fresh. The. She said the coffee machine wasn’t working. Save yourself a hassle and a bad experience. Do not stay here.

The first day was okay until the AC filter vent started leaking, since it was last in the evening I turned it off and decided to let the front desk know about it the next day. The next day i went to the front desk to let them know and the person working there aaid he would send maintenance. 2 hours went by and so i went back again to make sure that it was going to be taken care of. There was someone else working so i let them know of the situation, he told me would have someone go take a look at it while i was out having dinner. When i came back the vent was still leaking. Later that night i went to go shower and there was no hot water, i tried calling th front desk, but no one picked up. In my 3rd day there i went to the front desk again to ask about the leak and was told that it would get fixed at another time and i was also told that the got water issue still hadnt been resolved. Overall my experience at this hotel was not great and i dont think i plan on staying there again.

Since the arrival everything was wrong, the staff was unprofessional, the room was not cleaned properly towels had hair on them and were stained, bathroom had mold on ceiling and walls very poor maintenance, the following day the room was not cleaned neither beds were made or towels changed, we complaint to the staff, and their excuse was that their housekeeping personnel didn’t showed to work. Our reservation was for several days but we decided to cancel and walk away from this creepy place with Mold and dirty everywhere would not recommend to anyone ever, very bad experience

This was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever taken my family! Loud! Dirty! Construction site! A loud fight outside our window in the parking lot at 2:30am! I didn’t feel safe at all! The breakfast was none existent! White bread and water down sunny D in a pitcher. The best thing was the coffee. Will absolutely never bring my family back! I wish to god I could have canceled! But I purchased because the pictures looks great! But they are so deceiving! And I don’t even bring my son to the pool! Smokers and drinkers all night! No place for a 3 year old. Really upset about it!

The room was beautiful, but the AC was not good. One part of the room was hot and the other was cool. The grounds are a little run down, not as pretty as the advertised pictures.

Staff was great management was awful very disrespectful. Room was dirty, mold, and poor ac. Restaurant and bar was shut down breakfast was only from 7-9. I enjoyed the pool and greenery but the property was so bad and dirty, windows and property lamps broken caution tape everywhere, elevator was sketchy, broke down cars in the parking lot covered in dust and the place smelled funny. Looked like it was housing government recipients on a weekly. This place has so much potential but the people staying there dont care what it looks like and government handling the bill, I don’t believe it will change. Had to call Expedia to see if there was something they can do but nothing could have been done they definitely put in the effort.

You have people in the parking lot smoking weed in a broken down vehicle and they live there. The manager said they cant do anything about it

The room was 90degrees and took 5hrs to drop down to 78 degrees. We called the front desk and was advised to higher the AC until temp drops a bit.
The mattress was so hot that we couldn’t even lay down peacefully for a couple hours.
Also the toilet kept getting stuck and would not flush.

Check in took a while. The lady at the desk was on her phone and ignored me for a few minutes while I was trying to get her attention. When leaving the property there was a dead rat next to my car in the parking lot. Rooms are great and it’s pretty quiet.

We had an issue with the A/C but the front desk quickly assisted and brought us a fan. By morning the issue was resolved. I’m sorry get the young man’s name but he was awesome and extremely accommodating. Would stay here again.

This place is a dump! The bathroom was very dirty, stains on the walls, dirt on the bath room floor and shower tiles. The sink wouldn't drain and the toilet ran all night. They used duct tape to fix the leaking shower head. This is a project room key hotel, housing previously homeless people. Don't stay here.

Smelled bad, bugs, and leaking ceiling. The water worked with little to no pressure. Did not stay the night. Had to leave and find another place to stay. Front desk was not that helpful. There was someone there working who helped us out a bit. But was not working the front counter.

This hotel is very sketchy. When I went to check in there was no one at the front desk or in the lobby at all for almost 10 minutes. Finally someone who worked there came to the desk to check me in. There is no air in the lobby so it is very hot and they have many bug zappers that go off loudly when killing bugs. The room I was in had dust on most surfaces and mosquitoes flying around. There was no hot water and when I let the front desk staff know they told me someone was working on it and it would be working in about 2 hours. Longer than 2 hours later and the hot water was still not working and the front desk said they had texted me to say it would be another hour. I never got any text. Later that night there was a couple yelling outside my room very aggressively at each other. I did not feel safe at all and left that night. I expressed my concerns to the manager and he did not want to refund me for my stay since I was choosing to check out early. I will not ever stay here again and will never recommend this place to anyone.
