Nice, historical hotel. Beds were very comfortable. Location is great.

Location is perfect for everything downtown, the rail station, bars and restaurants. The staff is amazing! Keep in mind it is a historic hotel so it’s quaint but not modern.
5.0
Great location from the train station as you just walk up a steep hill, stairs or on the grass. And the hotel is on the corner. Quaint and quiet. Close to where we had to board for the wildlife and glacier tour. Free hot breakfast was wonderful. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereals, yogurt, fruit. Would definitely stay here again

The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. This hotel is a quaint hotel with lots of charm.

We were woke up at 1:30am a told we were given the wrong room & had to move. First the clerk downstairs tried to enter our room without calling or knocking. We said after being startled, who is there & they announced office & you need to move. We opened the door & the clerk , another man & his two kids were standing looking at us in our pajamas wanting us to move. So we gathered our belongings & moved . Never got back to sleep that night since it now was after 3am.

Great location for downtown Anchorage. Desk workers were friendly and helpful. Room was cozy and nice.

Lovely of hotel. Just needs a little repair.

We did not like the fact that it was sooo noisy at night we could not sleep. We did not realize until we looked at it from the outside that the window opened from the top and was open. It was that way when we got there. Black out curtains would sure be nice to block out the light when you are trying to sleep. The breakfast was not great .

Had a great stay. Most of the staff were fantastic. There was an older lady there (bob haircut) that could be quite rude. Made inappropriate comments. Didn’t bother us the other staff members made up for it. Hotel is well kept and in a great location.

Historic. Clean and well kept. Good people.

It was a very nice Hotel. The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. The lady at the front desk really helped us plan our day’s outings.

Enjoyed the stay
4.0
The staff was wonderful and the room was great. However, the location was quite noisy and there was no possibility of lessening the noise.
1.5
The staff were lovely. If you are a light sleeper, this is NOT the hotel for you!! It's lovely because it's a historic building, but that's also why it's so noisy. The bar is beautiful, but it's a bummer that its closed. It's only open for breakfast. The breakfast isn't good for people with food intolerances either.
5.0
Situated in historic downtown, walkable to shops and restaurants.
Suggest "F Street station" restaurant for an excellent fish meal in a pub style atmosphere.
3.0
It's old and in the National Historic registry so the room was nice but small and had way too much furniture in it. It was difficult to get around in the room due to too much furniture. And despite the fact that the bathroom was nicely updated, it a a low, tiny, round toilet which just won't work for many people.

Several people intoxicated in the area on the street

The staff was exceptional. We enjoyed the location, very easy to get around. The complimentary breakfast was very good… we enjoyed our stay there.

The hotel was clean and comfortable but the staff was outstanding. The lady at the desk helped us in from the sidewalk. Explained everything, gave us a map with suggestions where to go and what to eat. We took all her advice and suggestions and it was delicious. The next day they allowed our luggage to stay at the hotel while we had a morning excursion. The staff is what set this hotel apart,

The hotels atmosphere was amazing and the front desk staff was very helpful

Historic stay with unique charms. Friendly staff and convenient locations.
1.5
Lots of history, great location, but pretty underwhelming and average. We had booked a room with a king bed a year in advance only to be given a room with a queen bed when we arrived and no other rooms were available. The hotel was clean, rooms are small, breakfast is average.
4.0
Great location. I was fortunate that the property was mostly empty so it was quiet and plenty of seats in breakfast area. Rooms were large and I liked that I could open the window. The breakfast is what you’d expect from a traditional limited service hotel like a Fairfield Inn. With a few less choices. If you’re a picky eater or want real eggs. Plan to eat elsewhere. Staff was super friendly and location is great. Parking is free on the streets after 6pm. So if you’re up and out from 9am to 6 pm. No need to pay.

Hotel is located in an ideal location for shopping and restaurants, in particular for the train. The hotel it self has no air conditioning in keeping with the tradition of the period of the hotel. Some minor maintenance issues need attending to, tap feel off in the shower, breakfast very basic, but did it’s job!
4.0
We liked the central location and the fact that the hotel is historic.
3.0
Although, in its way, charming, it’s somewhat dank, with a slight odor in the room. The breakfast was only fair and would’ve been nice if the breakfast room was still a bar.
It’s quite expensive for what you get. But the historical background and location in Anchorage is a definite positive.
3.0
The history of this building was interesting and the staff was great, but I felt it was really overpriced for what it was. But maybe that’s just Anchorage at the end of August. It was in a good location for walking to restaurants.

The staff was super friendly
2.0
Great location but noisy particularly at night, had to close the windows, no a/c, fan very effective.
Very helpful reception staff.
Unique old building with character.
Good size twin mini suite but very small bathroom with nowhere to put wash bag or hand towels.
5.0
Comfortable room and courteous staff. Delicious breakfast included. Walking distance to several amazing restaurants.

Great property close to everything.

It’s to bad the place is so run down and feels dirty. The staff was very nice and helpful. But so much work needs to be done inside and out at this historic hotel. The owner should be embarrassed! Booked for two nights, only stayed one. Couldn’t take the old, old smell and feel. Totally false advertising!
5.0
The room we had which was 208 had a terrible view. Couldn’t see out. It was a view of the roof tops and building square
3.0
Its a historic building which to me meant old building , it was fine, clean, but old. Area very walkable/shopable, had a good time.
5.0
The staff was very accommodating. They stored one of our suite cases while we took the train to Denali for four days.
The morning breakfast was good especially the pancakes.
4.0
This is a sweet, old hotel. It's not fancy, but very clean and the staff was lovely. Arrival is hard because I'd been traveling a long time and had a lot of luggage. People should be aware there is no valet to help with luggage or car. The woman who checked me in helped with the cart, but the young man the next morning did not help when I checked out. Kind of a pain. Otherwise, it was nice place to stay for a night or maybe two.
