the bathroom is terribly small for shower or answering nature calls comfortably - in my three million miles of travel, i cannot recall a worse bathroom in a luxury hotel; the bed is too small as is the room itself!

Right on the ocean with access to lots of fine dinning and restaurants. Has its own beach, and the breakfast area and bar at ocean side. Live music most nights

Unfortunately, our experience at Miramare E Castello did not live up to our expectations. While the hotel has potential, several aspects of our stay left much to be desired. The hotel is very outdated and not accurate to its pictures online. For the amount we paid, it felt like we were deceived. However, the beach is right outside the hotel and the staff were lovely.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time... The hotel is very sensely located and a 5 minute taxi ride away from the port. FYI taxi to the hotel is 20 euros. Hotel is beautiful and has a classy old timey feel with modern updates.
Reception was fantastic and so helpful... They arranged a scooter for us for 35 Euros for 24 hours, suggested restaurants, booked the spa for me via phone...
Welcome bottle of prosecco and sweets was very kind.
The room was beautiful and spacious, well appointed with a large bathroom. The bed was not very comfortable but everything was very very clean. We had a room overlooking the water and a private patio which was beautiful!
We cross the street to the sister hotel and took a dip in the thermal bath... The water was very nice but not as hot as I was expecting. Had a massage in a spa which was fine.
Breakfast buffet both mornings was wonderful! Huge spread of foods from savory to sweet, fresh juices, prosecco, coffee to order...
Highlight of our stay was Agostano and Gerardo in the bar. They really made our trip so lovely! Agostano is a wealth of knowledge and experience and so warm and kind. Both gentlemen were utmost professionals in hospitality in general and hoteling and bartending. Their knowledge of mixology was astounding.
The entire staff was extremely professional and knowledgeable and showed us the true meaning of hospitality.

This hotel was delightful! The location was spectacular. We had fabulous views of the sea and the Costello Aragonese. We were able to walk into town for shopping and restaurants. But the restaurant at the hotel was excellent. Only tip- if you want a table closest to the water- make that request before you arrive. We never did get one for dinner.

This hotel is perfect! Old-school charm and class, without being snooty. The location is perfect, in town and next to the castle. Lovely private beach, excellent restaurant. The staff was professional, courteous and helpful. I highly recommend the place.

Fantastic location with extremely comfortable rooms (the bed was unbelievably comfortable) and the most kind and accommodating staff I've ever encountered, and a special mention to Agostino in the bar who was a wonderful person to meet. We were genuinely sad to have to leave and i would go back in a heartbeat.

Great location and amazing views. Don’t miss the spectacular sunrise in the morning. Worth waking up early for it!

Our room, and particularly the view from our private corner balcony, was spectacular! It blew away anything we've ever had anywhere. The rest of the property was truly luxurious as well. Only complaint is that the shower (which was also luxurious) drainage was not well designed and the drain slow/semi-clogged as well, so the water overflowed throughout the entire bathroom and even into the living room area of the suite! It's hard to believe that they weren't aware of this problem although the front desk insisted that they were unaware (and unapologetic).

Had a baby with us and hotel kindly upgraded us to a larger room so the cot fit with a little more space.
Superb breakfast spread and wonderful private beach set up.
Would definitely stay again.

Great place.
The staff were all very friendly, professional and efficient.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The food was of a very high standard.
All in all a fabulous place to stay.

The manager was very rude and not helpful with an issue we had prior to check in. The beds were the worst we have ever slept on and the room was very small. The hotel was in a good location close to shops and restaurants.

My favorite hotel during our 3 week vacation. It was beautiful and spotless. It has a beautiful view of the castle. The outdoor pool area was beautiful but the rain kept us from being able to use it.
4.0 / 5.0
Great location and facilities such as pool, beach, thermal pool which residents can use for free in their other location across the road.
The hotel lounge area is very nice and breakfast selection is good.
However, the rooms are tiny, barely any space to move around, and they are in dire need of redecoration. The electronics in particular need to be modernised completely. The room was extremely hot and the AC too old to do anything. Sleep was difficult because of the heat.
Nice common areas, but rooms are too old.

Very pretty, beautiful location and views. The rooms were a little dated but still very clean, nice size. Great bathroom and linens. Would love to see better pillows. The rooftop restaurant was amazing -- from the service to the food. Outdoor patio and beach were spacious with lots of comfortable seating option. Nice walk to Porto while allowing for a little more privacy and quiet than a hotel closer in would have been

Excellent accommodations!! Large rooms, friendly and helpful staff!! And the location was superb. Highly recommend!!! Can’t wait to return to Ischia and this hotel!!

Beautiful location and hotel. A little dated in some parts, but excellent overall. Would have liked to see some mesh nets to be able to leave the window open and hear the sound of the sea. Mosquitos were a big problem as there were about 20 in the room waiting for our arrival. We had to go on a killing spree to get rid of them. Great breakfast and service throughout.

Beautiful amenities and amazing view of the castle island. Complementary continental breakfast was above average with lots of selections. Worth the value and exactly we were hoping to get from booking here. It is a bit far from the ferry port if you are only here for a night, cost 20 Euros just for a short tax ride but yet it is not walkable with luggage. If you are hopping along the islands and the Amalfi coast then I would recommend staying closer to ferry/train/bus connection areas. If you REALLY want to stay in Ischia for 3 days, then yea this is a pretty good place.

We had a room with an amazing view of the sea. The hotel is located away from the port so not crowded. A short walk to the Aragon castle.

This property was wonderful. We had a sea view room that had a spectacular view of the castle & islands & the beach & pool areas. We loved it and enjoyed hearing the waves at night. Very clean room & facility. Great breakfast buffet! Staff was pleasant & helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location with fantastic view on Aragon castle! Right on the beach with all the comfort for a relaxing day at the beach.
For thermal pools you are allowed to use thw one in the neighbor hotel. Was very nice.
Breakfast buffet with enough variety of choice.
On friday and saturday there is a pianist-singer in the bar. Was lovely to spend the evening in the hotel with live music.
Globally the service is excellent.
The only point for improvement : had a disagreable experience with the reception service of the restaurant which is on the top floor of the building.

Hotel staff excellent, food excellent, rooms and pools are smaller then expected, beach excellent, location excellent. Biggest negative my wife got bitten by something in the room she had bits all over her legs. Maybe bed bugs not sure. I did see some bugs on the walls for this reason I have to give this hotel a overall 3 stars

Excellent location with close to the beach access and wonderful views.

The property was gorgeous and right next to the local water taxi. The staff were kind, attentive, and room service and other services were almost barely seen or heard which I always think is nice as you come back to clean and quiet rooms. Pools, food, and beach were all great. The best part- VIEWS! IMPECCABLE!

Room with terrace was wonderful. Great view, spacious and loved the welcome bottle of Prosecco and cookies. Water presume was fabulous, large bathtub/shower, and wall mounted hair dryer was nice to have. Small refrigerator which was stocked with water, cokes, and juices. Almost blackout shades were nice because sun rises early! La Lampara restaurant was great and the breskfast buffet was out of this world! Incredible! Service was welcoming and accommodating . The views were fantastic, too. It was a fantastic experience and I would love to stay here again!

This hotel is rated as five star, that’s a joke, it’s barely a 3 star. It hasn’t been renovated in 40 years, if ever. Everything about it including bath fixtures, plugs, furniture is super dated. The hair dryer is from the 70s barely blows cold air. The main lobby and dining room are decent. They had nerve to charge extra for omelet, never saying it wasn’t part of breakfast. Breakfast itself was mediocre at best.
The only positive thing is view of castle and beach location. 10 mnt walk to town with shops and restaurants
If you’re looking for 5 star hotel, this isn’t it.

Comfortable hotel, with own beach, small pool and terme-hot pool inside. Very good breakfast with youghurt, müsli of all kinds, served outside with beautiful views. We had good sandwich/bruschetta lunch, and in the evening excellent drinks om the roof terrace, looking out over Castello Aragonese. The standard room was ok, with a window overlooking the mountain. The room was a little dated, but still comfortable. The women in the reception was very helpful when I asked about places on the island in the Ferrante-books. This was the second time we've booked the hotel

We stayed in 2 hotels on Ischia and the Miramare E Castello was by far the best, amazing in fact. We went during the Italian August holiday week so every where was incredibly busy but within the hotel particularly during the evening it was a beautiful sanctuary. The location is perfect being very near to the church and restaurants, the service was exceptional, staff were accommodating and pleasant which was a refreshing change to the service we received outside of the hotel. The roof top hot tub and bathing area were really quiet compared to the beach below and we couldn't believe we had the terrace to ourselves the majority of the time. Yes it is expensive but worth it. The restaurant on the beach had delicious food, probably one of the best steaks I have had. The views were stunning. We are planning another trip to the island during a quieter time and we will only stay at this hotel. Tip if you are going to Ischia during August book your restaurants in advance.

Amazing stay, perfect spot for Discovering. Next time we will stay at least 2 days. Service was above and beyond (car rental, taxi, private access to the beach, restaurant reco)
