Great location let down by old & out dated facilities.
Pros - Location...right in centre of tourist district.
- private parking
- great staff, very helpfull.
- good room size.
Cons - no lift in our building despite advertised as "having a lift".
- no air conditioning...requiring windows to be left open and thus exposed to late night noise.
- bathroom & shower very old, outdated, and in poor condition.
In short, if you are under 25, like to party late and don't care where you sleep, it's perfect.
But for those looking for comfort... look elsewhere.

Awesome location. Quiet at night. Good hot cocoa / coffee machine. Cool with luggage storage. Things I wish they had: air conditioning or fans, something other than a handheld shower head (although water heat and pressure were great!), extra pillows and towels if needed (they did bring extra pillows the second night), WiFi, toilet paper that doesn’t exfoliate. The location just about makes up for it.

Was great!

Location perfect, room clean, but accommodation tired and would benefit from an upgrade

This property was absolutely awful! The rooms were nothing like the pictures. There was hair and dust all over the bathroom surfaces. The carpet was old and dusty and dirty. The light fixtures on the wall were sideways and almost upside down. We had to check all the sheets and bedding for bugs. It was the grossest place. My sister and I didn’t even want to sit down. After checking in and being in the room for a couple of hours we found another place to stay and checked out. Reception did not even ask us why. This place was a total waste of money!

Kind and friendly staff!!

Pas un coin très tranquille. A lot of music at night which make it difficult to sleep.

Could not use the parking because of a race in Chamonix. The only solution was to pay €24 euros a day as compared to your advertised rate. I had to hold the shower head for my wife to take a shower because it was too tall. I am 6’5” and it was above my head, yet the shower head is limp and cannot be removed. There is a sign on the door that said the shower heads had a device installed to limit the use of water. Paint is chipping off the wall and there is a landline phone where my head should go with a piece of plywood beside it. There is no A/C, but thankfully the windows opened. There are no outlets close to where the bed is located, most are located in the bathroom. The price of this hotel was far too great to be as bare as it was. I would have expected to pay €60-€70 per night based on the quality of the room, not €175 (which doesn’t include parking).

Excellent location! Nice, clean rooms. Great breakfasts and a coffee machine always available. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel is a little tired decor-wise but roomy, clean, and in an unbeatable location, so it didn’t bother us. Easy walk to the bus station and to all attractions. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, quiet and close to everything i needed. Thanks!

Nice hotel, well located. I had problems accessing my car since the hotel had problems enabling the passage since it is a restricted area.

Got the room in the annex / back building, right beside the lift. The rooms are not soundproof, so you can hear the lift operating, neighbours closing/slamming doors, and the floor above me creaks when the neighbours above are walking about.
But otherwise a very lovely stay.

Fantastic stay and great location.

Very quaint hotel. Would definitely stay there again. Looking for similar time next year.

Overnight stay so location excellent in town centre for shops, restaurants etc. Use of hotel car park excellent. Staff very helpful.

A nice traditional little hotel in the centre of things

very basic and dirty smell

i had a beautiful view of mont blanc(?) from my room/balcony. there was rain during my entire visit so my original plans of hiking had to be cancelled, however the kind concierge gave me plenty of activity options. the hotel provided a complimentary transit pass for the chamonix bus which came to be very convenient. i had wonderful stay. thank you to all staff at the croix blanche!

Building is old.

it was so later than projected check in time.
I had to wait for over 50 minutes even if I was tired.

Great hotel for the couple of nights before our TMB hike. Good location in central Chamonix, close to pedestrian area and restaurants. Short walk from the bus station. The only thing that annoyed me was that even though I had completed their pre arrival survey and told them we would be arriving by noon after a red eye transatlantic flight, we could not check in until 3pm - they actually told us our room was one of the last to be cleaned and ready.
3.8
Very dated. My room looks it hasn’t been updated since the sixties. Very load at night with numerous bars outside open late. Reception staff are excellent and a very good breakfast.

The lady at reception on our last day was amazing. We were at the front of the hotel so very noisy late into the night, the view was amazing though! If you love oldie world creaky floors, this will fit the bill.

Liked the place. The stuff was very friendly

This hotel Is well located in central Chamonix in an old fashioned chalet. My bedroom is comfortable & comes at a budget price.
There is a comfortable library with a fireplace & travellers can also rest in the front lounge In woodsy, country style .
Staff are polite & helpful .
Upon checkin, I received free gift of a glass water tumbler. The tumbler will prove useful at work.
Complimentary hot chocolate, tea & coffee is available from an auto serve machine at front level. An elevator is available in this hotel & a great convenience as my luggage is very heavy. This hotel provides rental surface & storage service for ski equipment for guests. Buffet breakfast is served in its dining room adorned with sheepskin rugs on its wooden chairs & photographs of Mont blanc on its walls.
Overall, I will recommend this hotel to all travellers to Chamonix .

This was a nice cosy old fashioned sort of hotel. Not the sort of cookie cutter place you find at every highway interchange in Canada and the US. The staff were very welcoming

The hotel is in a perfect location for everything. It was just a short walk to rent skis, get the bus to the slopes, enjoy aprês ski, and choose from the many restaurants in Chamonix. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They made the stay very pleasant. They had a coffee machine and water filter available at all times. They gave us a souvenir water bottle to refill instead of using plastic bottles, which I especially appreciated. The rooms and facilities are very clean.
My only disappointment was the breakfast service. It ran from 7:00-10:30 and often ran out of key items before 8:30 - such as the delicious croissants and scrambled eggs. Better supply management would be appreciated by this not-so-early riser.

Great stay in an awesome area

Quaint and comfortable. No Wifi. Quite annoying. No English TV Channel. Annoying. However, Chamonix is a Charming place to stay for 2 nights.

Great location. Facility is a bit run down as you would expect for a budget hotel.

The hotel is fine, in the middle of the town so location is great. The room was ok nothing to fancy but ok as well as the bathroom a little bit oldish. We had to wait 45 minutes to get our room and the check in is at 15h. One of the receptionist was very helpful (it was a young guy I don’t remember his name) but another receptionist was rude and didn’t understand very well English so communication was a trouble.
3.8
This hotel was roomy, the staff were accommodating and friendly, the breakfast was very nice with homemade orange juice and the view was amazing. The only negative was the poor wifi in our room. We got stronger hotel wifi across the street at the Irish Coffee Pub. Otherwise, it’s a fabulous place to stay.

Excellent service and hospitality . Staff are very friendly and helpful . Rooms are enormous and amazing !

George at the front desk was great!

Room was dated but very large. It was clean and comfortable. Staff was great very friendly. We didnt have breakfast but from what I could see it was looked great.

Great hotel in the heart of main street blvd. Old style decor and furnishing fitting to the setting. Cozy rooms, clean, great firm beds.
Hotel has a bar and restaurant. Breakfast for $14€. Ski rental just downstairs from hotel entrance at great pricing. 20% discount on rental equipment with hotel reservation.
I would recommend and stay again on my next visit

It was probably once in good condition but desperately needs some TLC. Bathrooms are from the 1970s and the shower didn't work properly - had to ram a plastic bottle under the shower head to make it a more useable position instead of against the wall. Paid for a double and got two singles pushed together ...

Nice staff on Mercury hotel
