Los Monteros is an older style 5 star Hotel, it originally dates from 1963. There are parts which could do with a refresh, but it has a certain mid century charm that I like and the staff and service are excellent. The breakfast is good too. Our room dated from about 2002, but was still very clean and spacious. The beach club which is separate from the Hotel was a bit of a dissapointment, and all at extra cost, pretentious, but without the service to match and all seems a bit of a rip off when you're already paying top dollar for your room.

Lovely property, good service, just needs a little sprucing up.

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. It's beautiful, so peaceful, and it was super relaxing!

First thing to be aware of is the false advertising that is on their website/travel agent/google when searching for this hotel. It will show an incredible pool with cabanas and the sea in the background, when in fact that is a separate beach club 10min drive away that you need to pay for (La Cabane). The pool at the hotel that is for guest use is okay, but can be busy with kids and generally the sun beds are very close together with limited number of parasoles. Felt a bit more like a 3 star than any luxury hotel I have stayed at before.
Service is rather poor in the breakfast area and the hotel bar area. The servers don’t seem to care for any of the guests and generally are quite rude. The waiters are so heavy handed, we could not wait to finish breakfast to get away from the noise/clanging. Never a relaxing start to the day
The location is about a 10min drive to the centre of Marbella/Old Town (taxi is c. €12 one way). Generally speaking you will need a car/take taxis everywhere as there is nothing walking distance. This hotel is very secluded, not even a supermarket in easy walking distance or a little minimart available on premise. So just be warned you will need to spend extra cash to get to places/do things as there is very little available on site.
We stayed in a 2 bed suite, the rooms are ok size however the 2nd bedroom has no windows to outside. It is a room that you go to the toilet in, shower in, and sleep in with a window that opens up to the corridor only

Stayed two nights for my hen do. In general, amazing hotel! Five star indeed! Even from days before our trip, they have been very helpful answering all our queries. Very efficient indeed especially Antonio who has been very patient with all my questions. Where do I start:
As gold member, already got the free spa. They also allowed us free early check in and gave us free 8 glasses of cava. Rooms are brilliant. Spacious and spotless. Double room looks like a mini suite with good view from the balcony. I also love the added welcome chocolates!
The spa is to die for! Been to another 5 star hotel nearby, but Los monteros spa is by far the best. Staff from the reception and bar are all very kind and friendly. After being out all day, we dropped by at the bar to relax. We didn’t order anything just yet but the friendly staff instantly gave us glasses of water and nibbles for free. They even allowed us to roam around the hotel with our photographer for photos. They really took care of us.
The breakfast was amazing! First class indeed, so make sure to include it to your booking!
Only downside is not walking distance to city centre but taxis/uber are always available and only costs us €4-€10 for four people. There is Aldi supermarket 10mins walking distance from the hotel. Beach is also walking distance. I can’t say about their famous La Cabane beach club as it was still closed when we visited.
Nevertheless, will definitely stay here again when we visit Marbella!

I like this hotel. Always choose it for my trip to Marbella.
The rooms are very spacious and quiet.
The spa is really good with a salt water pool and hydro massage circuit.
The breakfast has a great selection of food with local products on site and Mumm champagne.
The hotel has a very beautiful garden and you can walk through it to your room.

Fabulous hotel. Beach club is fantastic. Will be back

Not too impressed. Service is average and most staff does not seem to enjoy work at all. Rooms and facilities are quite old and could use a refurbish. Beach club (for which you pay extra) is great, though. Breakfast is nice. Overall a 3+ star experience (Hotel claim to be a 5 star hotel).

Los Monteros is good hotel with good value for money. It's well located, and has a great and peaceful beach club La Cabane.
The hotel itself is a little outdated, but still has an overall good comfort. The breakfast is very good, the pool area is quiet with a nice pool and a good poolside restaurant. Tennis and padel courses are new and very high standard. Staff is very friendly and helpfull in general.
The room (junior suite) is very spacious, with a nice and large bathroom. The spa is of good quality, the massages are very good.
Downsides would be the lack of staff (1 person at the reception, often nobody at the pool bar, nobody at the golf desk) which is not OK for a 5* hotel, carpet in the rooms, and some outdated equipment (rust in spa pool beds, ...)

The staff was excellent and friendly. The beach club is the best around. Expensive and maybe in need of abut of upkeep, but in general very pleasant and a great location.

The property is very tired, really needs a major renovation and refresh.

Relatively older hotel but well maintained. Very Close to the high way but easy

We had a great time in Los Monteros. The hotel has a lot to offer: beautiful gardens with pool and sun area, great kitchen, very friendly staff and excellent service. We stayed here for the second time in 2 years and will go back there for sure.

They have the best sauna in Andalucía in their spa. An excellent spa and golf hotel. Very good service and helpful front desk.

As this was going to be a special occasion then the hotel bent over backwards to make everything special so I thank them and will continue to recommend people to this fabulous hotel.

Lovely stay here for 5 nights staff are great hotel was spotless, gardens around the hotel are very well kept. We were given a bigger room on check as free upgrade, and also complementary drink in bar. Hotel is about 10 min drive from Marbella we had hire car or you can get taxi or bus right outside hotel into centre which is just what we wanted. WiFi is free and was great and quick enough, Buffet breakfast has plenty of choice also,No complaints excellent hotel. Would highly recommend.

Check in was not good. I waited about 20 minutes to be served to then be told my room wasn’t ready. When I got my room key, I didn’t receive the complimentary glass of cava which all my friend received. There was chips in my sink and a bad smell that came out of the toilet.

Very very nice hotel staff are very friendly
Thanks for all the staff 8 night was wonderful

What a fantastic hotel.
Beautiful; a few miles out of town. Hotel, quiet, clean, amazing food, staff. Would I recommend this hotel - it's a yes from me!!

Fantastic hotel ,I would love to visit in better weather ,my only gripe is I paid for an upgraded room that in the photo in reception shows a sitting area and corner sittee in room, whilst the room was plenty big enough it looked a bit sparse without this piece of furniture so I felt a liitle short changed.
Otherwise I recommend this hotel

We were in an old, shabby room, air condition broke twice in 4 days and was really noisy. We asked to move and the hotel, which was not full at this point were very reluctant and only offered us an upgrade which was an extra 40 euros a day extra. Hotel was next to a dual carriage way and no where near the sea. The first picture you show on your website is of 'The Cabane' which is a good 10 min walk from the hotel and you have to pay for it. This was very mis-leading. They are obviously modernising the hotel and construction work was still taking place, there was no warning of this when we booked and they were using a Kanga to break up the concrete outside the pool one morning whilst we were having breakfast.
5.0
We really enjoyed our recent stay. The hotel is excellent, in a good area and the staff were all cheerful and worked hard to make us welcome. If you like golf, it's paradise!
Some more information on local restaurants would be useful (there are two beach side bars not far from the Cabane, but we only found them by accident!)
3.0
This hotel is classed as 5 star, however i would say it is 4 star with need for improvements. We booked a deluxe suite as we have a toddler and wanted a separate lounge to the bedroom so we wouldn't disturb her once she went to bed and we could still enjoy our evening. We were given a room with a separate living area and told it was classed as a deluxe suite due to floor space. We were given the room we expected the next evening but it was a frustrating start to the holiday, clarification of the room description on both Expedia and the hotel website is needed. The buffet food was terrible and very expensive, the few meals we had in the hotel were very overpriced and not the quality that we'd expect from a 5 star hotel. The staff were friendly but there weren't enough around, for example ordering drinks by the poolside was slow and room service was very slow. No complimentary water/fruit in the room and we had to ask for shower gel etc to be replenished. We had to pay to use the Cabane pool which we expected to have free use of being guests of the hotel. The hotel itself and grounds are very attractive but the service really needs to improve in order to be classed as a 5 star hotel with 5 star prices...

very nice hotel, good food although the room was good but rather odd with tis 3 levels and the bedroom in the bottom- a little dark. Nice people, but they need to sort the gym out!

The resort is beautiful and the staff were extremely accomidating. It was our honeymoon and the room was beautiful. The queen size bed, however was two beds put together - we called it the "great divide". Room service was always fast and the food was outstanding. It was a trip we couldn't afford to do every year but well worth it for our honeymoon.

We could enjoy very much. A car is necessary because town/harbour is far from the hotel. Hotel's restaurant is expensive as all said, so a package including breakfast is recommended. Beach club has good atmosphere, but again expensive.

Really great hotel definately deserving it's 5 * rating. The rooms were great and the service from the staff was brilliant. 'La Cabane' the beach club was beautiful, really well equipped etc but the beach area was a little bit disappointing. In the evenings you will need to get a taxi in to Marbella (go to the Old Town which is gorgeous with great places to eat and drink) and taxi's are about 8 euros 1 way.

Clean and very comfortable,Food very good but expensive.Make sure that you book room with breakfast included in price.Breakfast is wonderful.Car essential.
