The staff were fantastic - polite, very helpful, professional, etc - perfect. The hotel is located in a very busy area, but it seems safe. The room was clean, but there were some details that could have made it better - hence a four star clean rather than a five star clean.

Ever been to a hibachi restaurant that has been around for ages and when you walk on the floor in flip flops you gotta curl your toes or the shoes will stick from the grease? Kinda like a drag strip at the start line. This is what the carpet in our room was like. Just nasty and sticky. But bed was great. Some traffic noise. Staff was super nice. Ill pick a different place next time.

Family friendly

There was a stain on my pillow and only 2 towels for 2 people staying 2 nights. I did bring these issues to the reception and they apologized and did a complete new set up and cleaning of the room the next morning and left 6 new towels. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I travel often for work and stay in alot of Holiday Inn Express hotels and many other brands. This did not feel like a normal Express, it was not updated with new furniture and the hotel seems old. The lamps are old with no new plugs and USB chargers. The towels were small and scratchy. The bathroom was old. However, the breakfast was good, the staff friendly, the bed and bedding very nice and comfortable. The only thing that felt like an Express was the Dove products in shower and by the sink. For the higher price, I expected an updated Express type hotel. Again, the staff solved all my problems so I was happy with my stay. It was very quiet, even with full capacity and right by the highway. I did not hear any traffic. I felt very safe.

Clean room and bathroom, comfortable beds, decent breakfast. We will stay here again.

Great experience all the way around- staff, cleanliness, convenience of location, multiple dining and shopping options, yet 10-15 mins from downtown B’ham (BJCC, etc)

It was a good price for my room and the people are so nice at the hotel. I’d definitely stay here again.

The door to our hotel room would not lock on a consistent basis. The lock would not engage. Overall the room was good.

Nice clean and safe

property was clean and staff were friendly. Breakfast on Saturday was good except no bacon. Breakfast was lukewarm and old on Sunday and no bacon.

I have stayed at the property a few times it is has been a good experience. It also seems to keep rates reasonable even during local events.

The minute we walked in the room the cigarette smell hit us in the face. I immediately called the front desk. Their answer was to send someone up with some odor spray and a car freshener placed on the vent of of the a/c. The spray was as bad as the smell. The next day I asked if there were any other rooms and was told they were sold out except the presidential suite. The front desk person said she would spray with Febreze. Needless to say it did not help. When we signed in I had to initial that if we smoked in the unit we would be fined $250. I wish this worked both ways. I still have a headache from the stench.

Great experience! Kudos to the staff; very clean. The breakfast was outstanding!

Excellent atmosphere

Excellent service. Very friendly ladies at the front desk.

The room and check in was great. The issue is that when leaving the property to enter the road you have to turn right, but the interstate is to the left. So you have to go right then find a place to turn around. At high traffic times this difficult.

Great stay except for 2 things…the shower had crappy water pressure (but it was doable) and the gentleman at the front desk was super agitated/frustrated about having to do his job. Lots of huffing and rudeness. I felt bad for the couple he was checking in because they didn’t have reservations. Clean hotel and the breakfast was good. Very convenient location to everything. Abs not very far from downtown Bham. The lady when we checked in was super nice and very helpful. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is with check-in. After arriving a little early, I went to my business meeting and my husband tried to check in. He was rudely told to come back at 4:00. Otherwise, the breakfast was better than expected, and the rest of the stay was fine.

Where to start? I arrived at 2:40 to check in, which was about twenty minutes early. The front desk clerk asked for my name and when I gave it he gave out and exhaustive, “Oh no” and then informed me that house cleaning had not even started cleaning my room that I had booked and prepaid for. I was finally able to get a smaller room, but was charged for the larger since I had prepaid online. That evening when I spoke with a manager she was dismissive of my situation and refused any refund even though I was in a smaller room and told me check in was not until 4:00. I showed her the check in time on my phone was 3:00 and she moved a lamp that the shade covered a small plaque which had a paper 4 pasted over the check in time. The next morning at 8:30 housekeeping was banging on the door to clean the room and check out was not until 11:00. At 8:45 my wife and I went to eat breakfast and all the food was pulled. When another guest told them breakfast was advertised to be served until 9:30 she just smiled and said, “Sorry” and walked away. I informed the front desk clerk and they had them bring the food back out, but it took until 9:15 and by then there were several women and children waiting to eat so I let them eat first. The food was not good. I typically look to stay at a Holiday Inn Express when I travel because of the convenience and included breakfast, but I will NEVER stay at the one in Trussville, Alabama again. The worst part was I was staying there to attend a funeral.

Nice hotel for solid value. The pool wasnt very clean and left my son's white swim shirt green. Other than that, it was decent.

Awesome staff and breakfast

The handicapped shower was not accessible for someone who is unable to stand. It was simply a tub with a whole lot of bars installed on the walls and a shower head that was monal. The sink hight was way too high for anyone in a wheelchair to reach as was the soap dispensers on the wall. The breakfasts were marginal and not to the standard of Holiday Inns unless you want biscuits and gravy. Also the trays of food weren't being kept full and some standard options weren't alway available. Lots of TV channels but most were sales. It would have been nice to know what number the major channels were. It was kept very clean and the staff friendly when spoken to.

We were very pleased. Sienna at the front desk was awesome.
