Hotel is close to old center. We loved the view from our room over city and cathedral. Hotel served great breakfast with all fresh products. Never heard of Alexandre Vialatte, but this hotel really goes a long distance to honor this man.

Hotel was disappointing, epecially for the price. Lobby was nice but hallways on upper floors were shabby. Room was small. Toilet seat was so boxed un by units that no one bigger than a small child could sit on it. Not the best located hotel for the historic part of the city. Would not stay again.

Stayed here on our way down to the south coast. Hotel has a great central location, which made it easy to pop out in the evening, and the inside has a lovely feel to it. Very convenient parking under the building, and the kids got their breakfast free.

Adequate hotel, located on the fringes of the old town, walking distance from the Cathedral (which is the centre of it all). Neighbourhood is ok, looks better in photos than reality, but safe enough. Room is spacious, clean and adequate. Overall, a good deal for the money, but no frills.

Overnight stop. Hotel easy to find and although close to a main road, we still had a good nights sleep. The receptionist was polite and friendly, making check in quick and easy. The room, 405, was comfortable, clean and well equipped. A handy coffee machine, hair drier and a balcony! Underground carpark at the hotel was €10 per night. Clermont-Ferrand is a beautiful, friendly city, highly recommend

The family rooms were excellent. 2 Separate bedrooms which included TVs inside both which allowed us parents to relax while our 2 yr old and 3 yr old slept next door. Parking reasonable price. The views at breakfast are fantastic too!

The first thing I have to write about is the view. Be sure to book a room with a view because it will not disappoint. The hotel was very easy to access and the staff spoke perfect English, making the stay that much more enjoyable. In terms of cons, the hotel garage was super tight and the room was small—by American standards. By French and European standards, the room was perfect. I don’t give perfect reviews often, but this one deserves a perfect review.

The views from the breakfast room on the top floor are great. The breakfast is tasty and varied too. It's a short walk up into the city centre and there are plenty of places to eat around the hotel. The rooms are modern looking.

They gave me the wrong room that I had paid for, needed to insist on a change for my original reservation. (they tried to give me a tiny room for the same price.) Internet connection was horrible, unacceptable for this kind of hotel, they told me I had to have a room near the center of the hotel to get wifi.... euh thanks gang, not helpful. No heating at all, the room was cold for my entire stay, the heating system was non functional. The night shift, specifically the woman at the desk was not fun and unhelpful, if you don't want to work there, stay home or find another job... never experienced this, ever.

A good overnight stop at this slightly funky "literature" hotel. Room was quite small, but clean and well maintained, and themed in line with the hotel's style. great breakfast on the 6th floor overlooking the cathedral and Puy de Dome in the distance

We had a one night stay on New Years Day. The hotel staff were efficient and friendly. The underground parking is secure and easy to access. My only criticism is the room smelled slightly of poor toilet drainage when we came in.

We used this hotel as a stop-over on the way back from our touring holiday however would not recommend it for this purpose or in fact the city itself. The road networks are compliacted in the centre of town where the hotel is situated so it was not ideal to reach being tired out from a day of driving. The underground car-park is handy with the hotel being in the city and it is secure however is very tight if you have a large car making it a pain to navigate without damaging anything! The room itself was clean and comfortable but lacked any character or colour, just grey, white and rock-like textured canvases on the wall. I would say it was more suitable for business than for families. We all slept fairly well and breakfast was what you would expect from a good French hotel.

Not a flashy hotel. They are going through renovations and the rooms are quite nice. It was a good value for the quality and comfort of the room. The restaurant and lobby much be some of the last parts of the renovation. If the rooms are any indication, the hotel will have a fabulous feel once refit is completed. The internet is complimentary and decent speed. Suggestion to hotel: find better refrigerators. They barely keep anything below room temp.

Staff is very friendly, open and willing to help out on any question/issue you have. Rates are modest for the roon you get; basically clean rooms and modest but okay bath room. Breakfast at to floor gives great view of the city, and really makes you long for the city exploration. Hotel is at a nice square and directly leads up to the centre of the city. The restaurant service is good. Risotto was not fantastic, but rest quite okay. Next time I visit Clermont I will go here again.

We were on our way to Majorca and stopped off at the Hotel Du Puys on ourway there and on our way back. The room was very adequate and as we had our dog with us it was great finding a hotel that didn;t mind us having the dog in our room. The dog enjoyed his stay too. There were some very nice Bistros very nearby and we had some wonderful food. The Hotel restaurant was not open on our way through and was closed by 10p.m. at night and wouldn;t serve us.
