The staff were friendly and helpful, and the space was clean. Had a higher exception of room quality based on other reviews and the 3.5 star rating going into our stay. Could see the space meeting the needs of other folks but would opt for something different next time.

Recommended. We are return guests as excellent place to stay. Very helpful and friendly staff.

I arrived early morning and was allowed to place my bags in a storage area for the interim. The staff had left for the evening by the time I arrived for (late) checkin after a day hike. They we kind enough to arrange my key on the desk and had transferred my bags into my room. The hotel had a lovely gathering room with a nice view.
4.0
Great location and view from deck/guest kitchen. Room was comfortable. Guest noise during day but quiet after 10. Toilet paper wasn’t replaced in shared bathrooms one night but minor issue.

Good location. Apartment had great views. Nice staff

Melbourne Lodge is great for the price. The rooms are big enough and the shared lounge/kitchen area is very useful. The shared bathroom facilities are clean and modern. The walls are quite thin and there is a lot of noise when other guests are walking through the hallways but that’s only a minor gripe. Other than that, a great spot.

Great place to stay, short walk to town as long as the return steep hill isn’t an issue. Really good common room stocked with crockery, cutlery and cooking items for use, with access to front balcony and amazing view of the lake. Very comfortable queen bed room with a small balcony, furniture a bit tired but very clean. Would recommend.
4.0
Clean and very nice. Only downside is the walls appear to be thin or not sound proof as you can hear when people walk past the room or talk in the hallway.
5.0
Very good view.. Though it is difficult to walk from downtown, the view cannot be good any more.

I had just a short overnight stay in Queenstown and wanted something private but inexpensive. The single bedroom option worked for me on this stay, small but modern styling with space to hang clothes and a basin. Shared individual bathrooms & toilets also modern styling and were no hassle.

Generally speaking, quite neat. The visitor lounge provides adequate kitchen utensils, relevant tableware even necessary seasonings to make self-cooking easier. Thanks for your great efforts.

This is a reasonably priced hotel with a very reasonable walk to town - as long as you don’t mind the hill to get back to it (though let’s face it- the whole of Queenstown is hills). The bathroom was clean and functional but the light/fan very loud so you wouldn’t want to turn on the light in the middle of the night. Had a fridge, tea/coffee and very helpful staff who were able to let us check in early. Just boring that noise really carries in the hallways so hope you have quiet guests around you. So in summary - not fancy but def functional.

Good place, clean and tidy. only a few minutes' walk to town centre and you can leave the car parked at the lodge literally. The shower (room 37 we stayed) wasn't working well. should replace with new

Good property, staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent location and views from our room (no.42)

Dormitory style cheaper older accommodation. Adequate but bathroom needed some maintenance. Shower leaked all over the floor.

The property had a high level of dust in the carpet and in the bed and my wife has developed an allergenic reaction and became all puffed up in the morning and we had to cancel the second night stay which was not refunded to us as well.furthermore the whole corridors and rooms were filled with cooking smell from the time we arrived untill late at night with multiple levels of spicing that would turn the eyes and nose runny like virtually sleeping in a live kitchen.the property need to be urgently reviewed by local authorities for its true worthiness to operate or not.we checked out at 7am in the morning as unbearable.

Cleanliness. Comfortable room and bed. Shower is good but the drain was a little slow.

It’s great for a 3.5star property. Staff were helpful and close to city shopping. There’s road works going on at the moment but that can’t be helped. Overall great place for a nights stay!
5.0
The hotel is a solid offering. Good sized bathroom with a large bedroom and a small table for breakfast. But the real bonus is the fact of free parking so close to the city centre. We left the car in the lot for the three nights we stayed and either walked or used buses.

Convenient location with easy access and parking. Great spot.

Nice and tidy, great view, great staff. Only issue is the current road work around the lodge.
6.0
Good size room for price but bathroom vents need a clean and the floor behind toilet and a good vacuum under seat cushions

Good location. Too much road work around. Good rooms.

The only things we liked about this place was the view, the beds, the cost of the value of the property & having a dryer & washing machine onsite.
It was a fair way away for us to get to our room, especially for our elderly.
The host were good & helped with carrying our gear to the room.
On our way there we noticed that the roof was leaking.
Our room service was late everyday we were there, having to ring & ask for things to be topped up.
However, it was somewhat close to the cbd so that was good.

Pros
- clean simple bright room
- well equipped shared kitchen (lounge) with a nice outdoor space
- just 15-min walk to town centre
- clean shared bathroom (female)
Cons
- unisex toilets need better maintenance
- some serious roadwork going on - didn’t affect me coz I was out during day time anyway

Given that there is a bunch of construction on the roads around the hotel, it was a little confusing to get to, but the hotel is comfortable. Our bed had an old mattress and sagged in the middle, but the pillows and the bedding were wonderful and overall the day was very comfortable. The staff is very nice. We had the window open all night, and the rooms are nice and quiet.
8.0
It was surprisingly quiet overnight with several rooms sharing bathrooms. Nice community kitchen and TV room. Streets around hotel are currently under construction, but access is available to hotels.

Very happy with the value for money at this modest but cozy family run guesthouse. The staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were comfy, well maintained and had everything you’d need
Location was good close to the bus and a short (but steep!) walk to the town centre

Not what I expected from the pictures online but definitely a great facility. Great staff who are friendly. Very calm guests who are quiet, tidy and respectful. Right in the center of the town so it is easy to walk everywhere. Free parking was also a perk.

It was ok, the property needs an update. Staff friendly and helpful.
