Very nice comfortable small hotel , lots of character and nice period decor with excellent cooked breakfast

Hotel was chosen for closeness to Princes st and Xmas markets etc. What we found was a special place which was a club for ex military through the years and the history in there was so interesting ( now open to the general public) packed full of momentos about the queen visiting different regiments and areas of Scotland. It was kept spotless and lovely and warm. Breakfast was served from menu and piping hot with plenty of choice . Would thoroughly recommend

What a fantastic stay! Beautiful hotel balancing it's fascinating history with the needs and expectations of the modern traveller. Polite and helpful staff. Breakfast was perfect, best Black Pudding for a very long time. We would definitely stay again. Location is quiet.

We would very much recommend this hotel! It got a lot of charm and personality, and the location is sublime. Close enough to the city center and other important monuments, but far enough to not be impacted by the sound. But, the thing that made the stay really memorable was the night shift Marc! What a lovely and welcoming person that made our stay even better. Just for him we would recommend the hotel.

We had a very pleasant 7 day stay at the Royal Scots Club
Our room was in the annex which involved going down some quite steep steps but staff were very helpful with our cases. The room itself was warm, comfortable with plenty of storage and two armchairs. Tea and coffee facilities were topped up daily. The general lounge was a great place to relax after a busy day in Edinburgh. It’s also really close to a bus stop with regular buses to the city centre
The only criticism is the fact that the breakfast was always served too soon to the table and consequently was cold by the time we had finished our cereal

Our room was wonderful—huge open space with big windows and very high ceilings. The bedding was very cozy, and staff were helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed the quiet and calm neighborhood in enchilada hotel was located. A couple of things could be improved: we would have appreciated better TV (more availability of channels). We also wished for a grab bar on the wall beside the tub. This old- fashion tubs with high sides are particularly dangerous for elderly people. Nevertheless we enthusiastically recommend the Royal Scots Club.

Liked the bar and club feel - also the facility to have a cigar on the Bar terrace.
Breakfast was awesome.

Excellent location, wonderful hotel full of original features and history. The beds were very comfortable and staff were very friendly. The only downside was the room was a bit dusty, the baseboards needed cleaning so allergies flared up a bit. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

It’s a hotel with a heritage. Is it the most fancy one? Perhaps not. But it certainly has an amazing atmosphere. And amazing beds.

This place is a gem close enough to everything and yet far away from everything.
Love and love

Royal Scots Club was a fantastic place for us to stay. The large room and fully equipped amenities of the hotel made for an excellent stay! We would definitely return!

Room was wonderful, although navigating to it from the reception desk was interesting. The Queen’s Gardens are right across the street. Several eating locations near, but there is a breakfast and dinner option in the club. Loads of wonderful history in the building to read/admire.

When originally booking, I selected a room with a king bed and ended up with a double bed. The room was much smaller than expected. Especially after reviewing photos of the rooms. Otherwise all was lovely.

The ambiance of the club is enjoyable and it is well situated for easy walking to city centre. The historical references within the club are very interesting. We stayed in the annex and the main building and definitely preferred the main building. All staff were pleasant and helpful.

The service and staff was amazing. The front desk staff helped us with getting a taxi at 3:30am. We also had dinner at the hotel the last night and it was spectacular

Nice hotel that was located in New Town. The hotel was located a few blocks from Rose Street and a reasonable walk from the Royal Mile. The rooms were a little on the small size but about average for a European hotel. We would definitely stay again.
