Nice comfortable stay
very clean room and friendly staff
very good breakfast not much on menu for vegetarians but the vegetable omelette was really good
4.2
We liked everything about this hotel: the staff were friendly and welcoming; the breakfast was good; the room was spacious, clean & comfortable, and everything in it worked (toilet, shower, TV, etc.). We also liked the
old-style features in the room (wooden beams on the ceiling, stone wall, etc.) as they gave it character.
4.2
A superb comfortable hotel who served delicious food, would never hesitate to stay again should I be in the area
4.2
Easimy accessed and omenty if parking space
4.2
Clean and great value
4.2
Modest accommodation, it was a hot day but fan was not available. Leakage from the ceiling of the room.
4.2
Apart from the hotel, nowhere to go but facilities are limited. Staff friendly, food average.
4.2
Nice comfortable room with good WiFi connection. Food was excellent and served quickly. The steak pie was the best I have ever had anywhere. Top marks yo the kitchen.
This is my second visit here and my previous visit was just as good. Plenty of parking and very friendly staff. Hot breakfast cooked to order. The best I've ever had.
Recommended.

Stayed for a couple of nights while working in the area and can't really fault it. Food great and room comfortable if a little bit dated. Good shower with plenty of hot water!
4.2
No wifi connection was possible in the room.
4.2
Oldie worldy pub ;friendly, clean ,good food, ample parking ,would definately go again
4.2
Easy to find in such a remote area, fine staff and food.
4.2
Quite a big place. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Evening meal was classic pub grub but really good quality and good portions. Wifi was good. Shower was good and everywhere was lovely and clean. I'd be happy to stay here anytime.
4.2
Comfy dining room/pub, personable staff, convenient location.
4.2
Just over 30 mins from keswick in a quiet location, excellent hosts ,amazing food .i love thats its not a new updated place gives it more character. I didnt have a good night sleep but that was due to upstairs neighbours .that was only down side and was a shame it was only a one night stay.
4.2
Lovely staff, very accommodating throughout our stay. Lovely food and accommodated 2 late guests who arrived just as kitchen was closing. Nice quiet sleep even though there was a party going on at the time. Would recommend staying and will definitely return

A beautiful old building transformed into a lovely hotel without losing any of its old character, we enjoyed our second stay with the grandchildren who thought it was great the staff were fantastic and friendly roll on next year

Absolute amazing food. I’ve not had better for a long time
4.2
Great stay, lovely staff
4.2
Really nice helpful staff, very friendly and good rural location. Good range of whisky and competitive prices on the drinks! Room was a single room, a bit dated and a little noisy when people were walking about in adjacent rooms but was a definitely a comfortable sleep! Shower had good water pressure and was very clean and tidy.
4.2
We had 2 rooms at the hotel and both were of a high standard , spotless and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. Will definately be returning to the Wheyrigg! 10/10
4.2
Excellent hotel. Will definitely use again.
4.2
Good value stopover for one night, but room decor and hotel layout needs updating.
4.2
Excellent, we arrived early and room was ready for us food really good, lovely beef sandwich "s for lunch and good breakfast
Family run hotel with really good service
4.2
Hotel staff were very pleasant and the bar had a good atmosphere. Breakfast was good in terms of quantity and quality. Room was spacious but marred by being musty and this detracted from the overall experience. In terms of value for money I would want better quality rooms for the price paid. Okay for a one night stay but I wouldn’t want to stay any longer.
4.2
Hotel was an interim stay on our way home from holiday. Hotel is A little tired and in need of some modernisation, very creaky floorboards and could hear different residents using their tele into the middle of the night. Hand rails very lose in bathroom and shower sprayed out of holes. Staff we’re on the whole very pleasant, especially the lady who served our breakfast, one girl didn’t know what beer was on offer but she was very young and didn’t know the difference between cider and beer. Our meal was taken to a different table after taking 50 minutes after ordering.
4.2
Nice location, but we found litter from previous occupants in our room and at least 5 spiders. Having an arachnophobia sufferer in the family meant that they stay was not pleasant. Seriously. The place was last refurbished in the 80’s by the looks of it. If you like Axminster and Wilton carpets with dingy lighting then it’s great.
4.2
the staff are very friendly and followed covid guidelines making are stay feel safe and enjoyable. The room itself was very clean and a good size for a couple. my only criticism of the hotel was it could do with a little bit of modernising especially in the bathroom. this is not a point to say I wouldn't return however thanks to the staff and food offered being brilliant.
4.2
What a lovely place, the owner and staff went above and beyond when we couldnt get a taxi. Stuff your chain hotels you will never get service like we had at wheyriggs.
Bedroom was cisy with a comfy bed and the breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Looking firward to staying again.
4.2
Great staff and lovely hotel.
4.2
Very friendly and courteous staff and excellent rooms. Would certainly stay again.
4.2
Great stay but very slow service in resturant.
4.2
Nice quiet location. Lovely staff and excellent dinner and breakfast.
Only criticism was the rooms were not quiet with very thin walls. Was kept awake by football songs coming from drunk guys in next room at midnight on a tuesday which spoilt my sleep.
4.2
Food was delicious, staff amazing, hotel beautiful and surroundings beautiful.
4.2
good food nice rooms very friendly staff quiet country location
4.2
Decent hotel but lacking in a few basics you'd expect from a 3*
Also wifi doesn't work there
