Chateau de Mazan was a completely amazing place two spend two warm summer days on. Beautiful building, beautiful surroundings and a wonderful pool and pool area. The Mazan village was very cute and picturesque, and we had a lovely dinner at a place very close to the hotel our first night. We did not get a spot on the property parking lot, but that was not a problem at all as there was a free public parking just a few steps away.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and assisted me with a few last-minute problems (a broken earring, a wrinkled dress) with grace and speed. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. Altogether peaceful and lovely.

This historic Château has undergone major renovation, and the designer did a phenomenal job! Everything was sparkling and amazingly tastefully decorated. The outdoor space was also redesigned and is just so peaceful! The staff is extremely attentive. Breakfast was wonderful, and the chef prepared a very creative, delicious dinner, allof it served in this stunning setting.

The room was beautiful and the amenities were plentiful. The breakfast each morning was delightful. The grounds were amazing. The courtyard area just outside the entrance was a peaceful setting with running fountain in the background. The pool downstairs was refreshing and there we leaned to play pétanque. Staff spoke a bit of English, some more than others, and they were all so very friendly. We even delighted in conversation with some of the friendly international guests. There’s a working garden that the chef came down to cut fresh herbs for his delicious meals.

Pretty chateau but the best part about it is the dinner. The hotel gourmet restaurant was rewarded a michelin star but unfortunately was closed. However this alternative restaurant served the most amazing meal of our trip. We stayed at 6 hotels in our week trip and this is by far the best dinner we ever had. It even beat Monaco's Hermitage hotel Michelin star restaurant. You cannot give the dinner a miss. The server, a blonde man was also wonderful. He was very hardworking and attentive. Overall great service from him. Kudos to him for making the experience wonderful

The property was beautiful but we had a bit of surprise when shown our room. There was only a bathtub NO shower. My 6’4” husband was challenged to keep the water contained inside the bathtub!Otherwise it was great! Good food, clean, good location.

The hotel had great character. From the front, it blended in with the other buildings along the narrow street but once inside the pool and garden area made it feel like you were away from everything. The room was large, clean and comfortable though the bed could have been a little softer for my taste. Our only negative was a fire alarm at 0400 that turned out to be a false alarm; not the wake-up call we were wanting! :) The artwork and feel of the entire property was very different from the norm and made for a great stay.

Advice can be out of touch missing better options. Reason for the demerits in the rating is mold or mildew around the tub or Jacuzzi. Big surprise. Even on the off chance it wasn't mildew I can't imagine why management would leave anything black and nasty looking on the tub caulking

Truly beautiful hotel - we paid for a standard room but were given a superior room with a garden view on arrival. Service and quality of the hotel is everything you would expect from a 4* hotel and more. Only tiny complaint would be the lack of information about things to see/do in the local area and lack of room service.

Although we found the hotel extremely charming with great history, the room itself, a junior suite, the bed in particular quite unsatisfactory. It appeared that the sheets and bedding was not properly cleaned, hence bad odor. For the two nights that we were there, the hotel staff could not or would not move us, or accomodate our concerns for a bed that did not horribly smell. With reluctance we can not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were impressed with the receptionists at this hotel, very friendly and helpful. During this visit to Provence, which is our 5th visit to France, we found that practically everybody was willing to speak English and made us feel welcome. One word of advice, the gastronomy dinner at this hotel is not cheap, at Euros 65 pp. Please only do this if you don't mind sitting at your dinner table for 4 hours straight with gaps of time between your tiny courses. I wondered about DVT for someone who hasn't taken his/her aspirin for that day. It's much preferable to have dinner in nearby Avignon. We enjoyed our best meal at I'ile de Sonnante.
