Got charged at check out , even though we had already paid in full when booked weeks ago. Thankfully the morning reception staff spotted this error and put a refund through.
Great staff, great atmosphere within the bar area. Everyone so friendly including all the other guests. I think it’s a Northern thing to be so friendly.
Hotel a little tired in places.
Family room was large, but double bed , we are used to a king size . So was a little too small and quite uncomfortable. Dipped in the middle.
Pool, jacuzzi and steam room were good.
Pool was a little cool, but soon got used to it.
Ramsbottom or Rammy as the locals call it was very nice, great pubs 8 minutes walk from the hotel.
Indian restaurant (Indian Lounge) was brilliant. Very friendly and a brilliant meal

Couldn’t fault it. Staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and added bonus, dog friendly! My fur baby loved his little holiday.

Always a pleased to stay at The Old Mill!

A super llace for a family gathering family gathering

Lovely location but the hotel is very run down and in desperate need of refurbishment.

Lovely historical hotel and I love Ramsbottom as a place to visit. We did walks up to Peel tower and went on the steam train. Fantastic places to eat too - Cocoa Tree is a delight!
8.0
Amazing staff, attentive and friendly, cooked breakfast is excellent.
Rooms are extremely basic though and desperately need fridges, phone to reception, room service, shampoo AND conditioner. Though not common in UK, ice/vending machine, AC, and microwave would be great too.
The proximity to town, enjoyable grounds, and lovely staff more than make up for the rudimentary rooms though and we will certainly return and recommend!

Bin in bathroom didn’t open
Restaurant food was expensive and not much to choose room. Had to get a takeaway
Beds comfy

Overall for one night it was ok.
Breakfast good and helpful people.
The carpets on the second floor were disgusting dirty need a good clean or renewed.
Our room for £89 was so small we could just about get in bed.
The single room wasn’t much better. And should not of been charged at the same price as the double.
2 star only.

We were up for a wedding in Burnley so did not have much time in the hotel.

Warm and friendly welcome excellent service all round

Stayed here 8 years ago the decor and exterior was worn out then.looking still the same just another 8 years of wear and tear.
The room was clean though
10.0
Great to use as a base for exploring the area. Quiet location, with the village high street less than 5 minutes walk away.
5.0
We were visiting friends so only used the hotel to sleep. However the staff were helpful and friendly
10.0
Great place, quiet area. Lick of paint to freshen it up wouldn’t go amiss however everything else was spot on.
6.0
Great location for the town and very peaceful surroundings.
Does need refurbishment, take out carpets and have a more modern look.
Bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly on arrival and even though I asked for it to be sorted, it wasn’t!
Friendly staff. But will have to pay more to stay elsewhere next visit.
2.0
NOT for disabled guests, although it states "no lift" it should say "not for disabled guests" as there are zero rooms accessible without climbing LOTS of stairs
* Decor seems to be from 80s so old and shabby
* Trailing cables
* States "daily" cleaning etc, this is not the case (was there Mon-Fri and wasn't cleaned once)
* Beds unstable and uncomfortable
* Anti slip mat not in room until after fall on 2nd morning then had to ask for it
* Mouldy tiles
* Swimming pool not cleaned regularly as algae around poor as well as needing to be repaired
* Rusting radiators
Staff are friendly however this hotel is just run down, dirty and I've stayed at better hotels for same/less
Add this to fact that it gives impression that people with disabilities should be fine staying here they are certainly not

Really nice friendly place to stay. All the staff are very nice and attentive. Great location for Ramsbotton, literally 3 minutes walk down the hill to the shops, bars and cafes
2.0
very dated. no remote for tv, single bed was very uncomfortable. the towels in the bathroom had stains on and one looked like it's been chewed by a mouse. decpr looked old and dated. zero sound proof as i was woken up a lot by other people late at night and early morning by other people talking. jacuzzi that was advertised was out of order

Location excellent, staff really friendly, breakfasts very good. Only downside was a noisy delivery at 06:00.

Shower either too hot or too cold, bed not the best

Old Mill hotel is a perfect location for us as we have family close by. Room 3 is a small, dark room but perfect for our requirements. Good shower and comfy bed. The staff are always friendly and helpful so it’s always great to visit.

The staff were great, rooms were clean and comfy
Would definitely stay again

Hotel itself was unchanged after visiting a few years previous; booked and ordered dinner for six including 2 children; service was extremely poor and many items left off the meals, what we had tasted good but £16:50 for a basic burger not bacon, no cheese (forgotten) but not remedied once staff were made aware. staff were extremely busy overstretched it took 2hours for our meal to arrive despite booking at 6:30pm; disappointed overall in charges for non ALL INCLUSIVE PRICES which we were made aware of the following morning.

The grounds are lovely, but due to a wedding we weren't able to use the bar area so unable to review that side of things. The property is a bit dated but clean, it suited our purpose to visit family.

A lovely overnight stay .
Comfortable bed and lovely clean room.
Lovely friendly staff .
The only disappointment was we’d paid for a room with a view but the view was mainly a view of the car park so maybe it would be an idea to not advertise this as an option?
However we would definitely return for another visit in the near future.

This hotel was convenient for the town centre, and the staff were lovely. The hotel itself is a little tired, if you have a room with a connecting door then you'll be able to hear the TV and all conversations in the adjoining room.

The room was in the furtherist part of the hotel with a musty smell emanating up from the exit stairs near the room. The room was something out of the 70's with brown curtains and carpet that when stepped on had a horrible, stiff feel especially near the desk. The desk/chest of drawers couldn't be sat at as the chair didn't fit under it and besides had to use the chair to hold one of my cases due to lack of room. Unable to look out of the frosted windows so had to use the chair to look out the top part of window to check what the weather was like outside. The slat bed was uncomfortable. The noise of people (workers/delivery people) below started early in the morning. Not a place I would recommend for those single supplement payers. I should have walked out the first night I arrived.

Stay was ok, as per expectation. The same room had a slight improvement since last time However hotel still looks dated. Otherwise no complaints
10.0
Everything was lovely
2.0
The original double room allocated was only big enough for a single bed and the carpet worn and dirty.
The changing areas were swimming in water and the ladies stank of wee!
Furthermore the tiles in the pool area were a slip hazard- far too shiny - especially the ones that had been replaced
5.0
Old fashioned hotel but that adds to the charm. Lovely staff can’t do enough for you. Looking forward to my next stay in October
There is no lift!
3.0
Hotel is very weathered, but fawlty towers
Gym was out as it has been both my trips
Room had very little light, no air con, lights flickering, wall paper peeling off
Signs saying sorry about the condition of the hotel, would be easier just to sort it
Staff Uber friendly couldn’t fault them but investment sorely needed to realise full potential
4.0
Great location staff pleasnt looking alittle tired neede redocoratin
4.0
Room was tiny and dirty.
Daddy long legs on the bed.
Terrible shower with no power.
Tv didn’t work properly.
Tea and coffee options very limited - just breakfast tea and instant coffee.
Limited selection for breakfast.
Very Poor value for money.
2.0
The hotel is in need of total refurbishment. The staff were generally helpful.
3.0
Good Budget Hotel, staying over with work, shower poor pressure, electric shower needs decoration
8.0
Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Good Food. Quiet location.
