The hotel itself is quite unique in style, we had a standard room and it was very spacious and included a comfortable seating area where you could watch TV which had quite a few English channels. Unfortunately the standard rooms are at the back right above the delivery/loading bay area and you are awoken by the deliveries every day any time between 4.30 and 6am. Staff were apologetic but nothing they can do about it and as hotel was full, we couldn't be moved.
Plenty of sunbeds - hotel was full and there was never a problem getting one. Area around is generally good but the sides of the pool could use a good clean.
Breakfast was the usual buffet fare plus a few other things you could order like crepes, waffles, pancakes. However, the food in the hot section was consistently barely lukewarm, a shrug of the shoulders was the response we got when this was mentioned. There didn't seem to be enough staff on - they were always busy but sometimes our order (even for tea) got forgotten and we had to remind them several times. One staff member manning the pool bar isn't enough - as hard as they work they can't keep up with everything.
Location is great, right on the beach and close to all amenities. Very easy to get to and from airport using the local bus.
Overall, we enjoyed our week, but if you're a light sleeper don't book a standard room. Personally, I wouldn't return to this hotel.

An amazing hotel in front of the ocean, old-style but very comfortable. At the reception, Danny was very nice upon our arrival. The room is quite big and has everything you need. The two pools are very nice, and there is also a 5-seat small hydro massage. With the half board, we had an amazing continental breakfast every morning with everything you could desire. The big plus is the dinner, where you are in the hands of one of the best chefs that I have ever met (and I travel a lot for my job). Aridane Socorro and his kitchen staff made our dinners magical, with a gourmet menu every day that was refined and delicious. The service with Elio, Marco, Angela, Dory, and all the rest of the staff was friendly and professional. I would like to thank all the people who have worked hard to make you feel at home in this hotel. We have spent 15 days in the structure, and we will come back for sure. A place that makes you feel relaxed and happy.

nice room with sea view and view of pool area with balcony. no suitable electrical sockets in room for charging devices. only socket was in bathroom. hotel was a little dated and there were some small insects crawling around the floors and some surfaces. excellent choice of buffet and cooked breakfast.

The hotel is very nice. Showing its age a little in places.

Everything was perfect!!

The service was great and the view was incredible.

Clean, spacious rooms with lots of tile, nice view and balcony over pool to ocean, and beach access. Rinse station inside and outside of secure door to beach. Room darkening drapes over slider. Parking lot. Easy to bus, taxi, shopping, pharmacy. Very Good breakfast buffet with plated add ons & plated dinner. Many lunch options nearby.
4.3
Location great. Beach front was so lovely and right next to the ocean front walkway that goes for many kilometres. Breakfast was fantastic. We loved our room - only suggestion is to have plugs to charge our devices at both bedside tables.
4.3
Attractively small hotel, which is quiet, right on the beach and excellent for pleasant promenades; and with very good breakfasts and evening meals.
4.3
We had a fantastic weekend at the hotel for our anniversary. The hotel is very clean and beautiful. Superb service from the staff at all time. The evening meal was excellent every night. The choice for breakfast was so vast, it was really fantastic. The pools area is so beautiful and clean, the bar is also serving nice lunch food, and delicious smoothies. We would definitely recommend this hotel. It is perfect for mature couples, for a quiet and relaxing stay.

It was really nice stay at the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel, and pool, beach were really nice as well. Some of the receptionists are very nice to talk to. Room was clean everyday, very satisfied. Since the hotel is quite old, it smells a little (not smelly inside the room). U can reach the hotel by taking bus 66 (around 4-5euro pr person) and get off at san agustin shopping center. 10min walk from bus stop you will find the hotel.

WE had room 317. This is not a sea view room as we were late booking due to illness, so none of the comments relate to that aspect of the room. This room is to be avoided at all costs. Adjacent to the room is a cleaners store room with the attendant problem that the room is accessed from 6,00am every day accompanied by the door closing with a bang and cleaning equipment being moved around. Further to this there is no sun in the room at all,so if you are visiting in the winter, the room, remains uncomfortably cold as there is no form of heating throughout the hotel.
With the noise early in the morning and the lack of warmth, this has to be the worst room in the hotel.

This hotel is mostly serving travel groups, so when travelling solo as individual, there were lot of challenges. Breakfast was good, but varied from day to day - first morning there was great smoothie (this was plus compared to other places) and good coffee. Next morning coffee was instant coffee and smoothie watered down. Pool was nice, with the view and access to the San Agustin Beach. You could walk to both directions on a walkway next to the beach - good for morning jogs!
Room was old and my balcony was directly to the garbage bins, so had a 'nice' wake up every morning at 6.00. They were also renovating the corridor on my floor (no warnings beforehand) and the noise plus glue smell (carpet change) was not adding to a good relaxing vacation.
As said, the location was great (if you are looking for a quiet hotel), but I would select next time another one nearby on the same beach.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in this hotel, one of the best experiences we have had in late Feb, early March, it was mainly 50-70 age group and a very quiet hotel which is what we wanted. Great availability of sunbeds, never a problem. Would go again at the drop of a hat
4.3
Reception check in took over an hour as only 1 person at desk and 4 couples waiting when we arrived.
Corridor carpets threadbare.
Room allocated very dark and no sun on balcony.
Breakfast food excellent.
Hotel right on beach

We chose San Agustin because it is a relatively quiet location. For more varied nightlife there are bigger resorts further south on the island. The majority of visitors appeared to be Scandinavian and German so restaurants and shops in the area catered less for Brits but for us this was a bonus! There is a variety of good restaurants catering for all tastes. The beaches are very clean and even in January it was warm enough to swim in the sea. The bus system is good and relatively inexpensive so if you dont want to hire a car it is very easy to travel to the different resorts and to and from the airport. For example from the airport to San Agustin is 3.5 euros by bus. There is several miles of easy walking along the sea front and opportunities to surf and paraglide very nearby.

Very nice luxurious 4 star hotel in the nautical style, excellent dinners a la carte, excellent evening shows. Nice swimming pools, spa with heated water. Sea view and the beach in 100 m from the hotel. Mostly Scandinavian guests. Free wi fi in the lobby.

the Hotel is a older building, with style, but what you see on the web, is different form teh realty due to panorama pictures. Breakfast desnt have good coffee, and dinner is a choice of 3, .. french style, but aso portions french ( small)
4.3
Amazing, big room with beautiful seeview. Lovely stuff member, good and various food selection for breakfast.
4.3
Shame that there was no swimming allowed on the beach
4.3
Truly friendly staff and very well managed hotel right on the beach. Sheletered from the winds by glass panelled fence. Wake up every morning for the magnificient view of the ocean.
4.3
Friendly helpful and patient staff. Warm welcome on arrival. We have been twice this year the first in May when we had bed and breakfast this time in July we opted for half board.
It was delightfully quiet and peaceful ideal for couples wishing to get away from the hassle of work! It does seem to cater for the German/Scandinavian market especially food wise but we thoroughly enjoyed it. There are eating options locally if required.
The beach is directly in front of the hotel.
Breakfast offers most choices, cava on Sunday morning, lovely!!
We left at 4am for our flight with a wake up call and coffee and pre made breakfast!
If you want tea coffee in your room take a kettle!
4.3
The hotel is nice, especially the pool area which has walls around protecting from the wind, and the rooms are very Northern European, with high standard and maintenance. The location is a bit of Playa del Ingles but that we just liked and it gave us good opportunity for long walks.
The biggest challenge with this hotel is the varying degree of service, from Excellent to really bad.
One dinner we had the best steak ever with super service, next lunch they tried to serve us old food, completely ignoring what we ordered. We did not have to pay for the dish, but it ruined our lunch and day since we got a bit sick from the the old seafood, which they did not even bother to reheat.
Same goes for the bars, one day the guy went out of his way to help us, next day the lady did not want to serve us (and other we talked to) coffee.
Break fast same thing, some days good service with smiles someday the just wanted to get rid of everyone and were awful.
Reception, same some excellent helpful and also some who could not even bother to great when we came in.
The only things that were constantly bad was the bed, and the breakfast food was partly really bad and partly OK. I would rate it a 2 for quality and 4 for variety, compared other 4 star I stayed at.
4.3
Good hotel with sea facing room.

Better than what I expected, clean, spacious rooms. With helpful staff. Brilliant hair dressers and great beauty treatments.

Not many places on Gran Canaria are beach level but san agustin beach club is.Super staff, accomadation spot on,breakfast choice excellant, hot dishes could be hotter but seems the norm in all hotels.Only English couple in all of the hotel, everyone else Swedish but all very friendly.Would definately stay again.300 yds to shopping centre, with choice of bars and restaurants. 2 miles to Playa inglis, could be walked but 4 euro taxi easier!
