Nice tidy room. Great little pub

Sound of people in the bar

Stayed here for 1 night as we booked the night before bank holiday and everywhere else was booked.
It was sleepable, easy enough to live in for 1 night.
But otherwise unclean, the bedding on one bed had stains, the shower had hair in it, and the cavity between the wall and shower cubicle was choc full of cobwebs, and the bathroom door handle was just about hanging in there.

The stay was excellent the hotel was clean and the staff were great also the local people were really friendly I have stayed in many hotels but would really like to recommend this hotel and will return next week when I go back to work in Barry

Good for the price. Clean room and comfortable bed. No meals onsite so asked girl behind the bar for ding options. Not much help , said McDonalds and a takeaway down the road . Turns out we found a choice of two good pubs! Only five minutes round the corner. Overall ok.

First of all the staff member blonde women fire her rude in a instant of meeting me told me to wait to ours in barrow just so I could go to my room knowing it's a really quiet hotel day and that it wouldn't be a big deal to try get it done early so I could get some rest didn't even show me where my room was or tell me the WiFi password had to ask a member of the public room has a wall with a hole in it shower head covered in mold told me I'd get fined for smoking in my room even though she clearly seen me have a cigarette outside told me I'd get a fine for losing my key after explaining I was stoping my partner from harms way due to a idiot driver loud music till midnight every night no free breakfast taky rooms that leed right into the public's view from the window very hard to find without asking someone first hand then when I was ready to leave came not 1 not 2 but free hours every at 8 when my check outs at 11 to try clean my room keep in mind I was asleep in bed and just barged in didn't even apologize just turned around and walked out this blonde women who works as a receptionist fire her stg worst hotel I've ever been in

Lovely big light airy room. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, two of the beds squeaky badly. I slept on the (comfortable) matress in the floor. A shame as otherwise, it was a lovely place! An easy fix i would think.

Bed very squeaky, desk unsafe - leaned when lap top put on it, shower flooded bathroom floor(this was rectified) no toilet roll holder, bathroom door opened outwards into the bedroom if not fully shut, window didn't open, no battery in remote (got one when asked), cold water tap switched itself off - continue to turn in opposite direction came on again, large crack in sink, heater legs kept falling off, one coat hanger,

You get what you pay for. If you’ve opted for a budget stay then don’t expect too much glamour. Hotel receptionist was friendly and helpful.
Could do with redecorating but room was clean.
Only disappointment was being woken up early by the cleaners crashing about long before check out time.

Clean and tidy however could do with a coat of paint. Room had tea/coffee spilled all down the walls other than that was OK.
Breakfast was amazing and staff were friendly and welcoming.
Would stay a again if working in the area.

Bed was vedy uncomfortable full of springs, room was tiny, and a group of lads decided to have a party in their room so i was up until 5am with loud music and very thin walls, i will never stay in a hotel above a pub ever again.

Staff could not have been more helpful. Just a shame that there were other I considerate guests who kept me awake for some considerable time during the early hours on the 2nd night. My hotel bedroom needed the towel rail replaced as well as some further updating.

Hotel is within a nice pub with some lovely locals and all staff are very nice and helpful. The pub has plenty of tv for sport but does not do food. However plenty of takeaways nearby and can eat in the bar area whilst enjoying one of there many pints!Room was clean and bed was comfy. Also great full English in the morning too! Great value for money

Great small hotel with good clean room and friendly service from all the staff...nothing not to like!!!

Room was spacious and furnishings seemed quite old, as was the decor. The hotel could use an upgrade if sufficient funds were available, but we had a nice, newly installed shower room in our room. The beds were comfy and we had a great time just relaxing in the comfort of our room. The staff were very affable and welcoming and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The free breakfast was substantial and very filling. Thanks very much for being so hospitable. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

I wanted to give it a one. Like the hour they finally stopped the eighties cover band at the bar below. But i went with the two in deferrence to when the drunk girl in the room down the hall slammed her door. This place has to decide if it is a bar or a hotel. I only stayed here because the Duke was full and the other places rely on access codes instead of employees and that always seems to be an issue. The place had clean towels. Walls were marked. Drafty. Tv kept losing signal. Owner never came back to fix despite promising. They use liquid soap. Water pressure was weak. Walls thin. Bfst was just cereal. Next to junkyard and rugby field. Juke box is noisy when no live music. Barrow has nothing to recommend it. Even the train out of town didnt want to come.Other than that, it was a dream.

Heating did not work. Weather was cold. Staff member said they think I could have a portable heater if I want. Do any guests want to be cold?

Rooms basic but clean location close to centre so 20 min walk to BEA works. The staff were all superb and went the extra mile to help you, but the food was excellent nobody would go hungry here and if you had dietary problems they would do their best to cater for you.Full English breakfast yes please but make it a small one because even that is bigger than most hotels. I convinced 5 other colleagues to eat there for their evening meal, now they want to stay there next time.
