Lady owner very confused with reservations done through hotels com, she charged penalties on a reservation never existed.
She was rude at arrival, and complaint about Canada, Prime Minister and Expedia .
Avoid the pain.

I’m grateful for the existence of this gem of a hotel: it’s the best combination of sensible pricing and most every luxe amenity you’d want (fast internet! Nespresso machine! Bathrobes! Iron and ironing board! Great mattress, linens and duvet) that I know of, just a short walk from the NAC, the Rideau Centre, etc.

This is a gorgeous hotel in a perfect location, and would be ideal if you just need a comfortable bed to stay in while you spend all day out and about. You'll have access to beautiful walks, nice coffee shops and restaurants. The owner is extremely friendly and pleasant.
As far as cons, the rooms are very small and the use of space isn't great. I found myself knocking things over a lot, and I'm fairly petite so I feel like if I was taller or broader, I wouldn't have been able to comfortably use the facilities. I do feel the small rooms could be work-able if they were re-arranged.
There was a really nice desk right by a very sunny window, but I found I wasn't able to take advantage of it as the Wi-Fi was unstable.
Again, could be a wonderful place to stay depending on what you're looking for.

Convenient location, spacious and quiet rooms, friendly staff, and a great shower and lots of amenities in the room like a tons of outlets and good amount of shelf space to store things.

Fantastic and comfortable stay, modernized building and friendly staff. Quiet neighbourhood and walking distance to everything I needed.

When we first arrived at the hotel I did not like the room, it was much smaller then expected, not much more room then the bed and a small area to walk around. The bathroom was also extremely small especially for my 6’2 boyfriend. BUT the staff made the stay altogether. The front desk lady was so so so sweet. She was so pleasant and helpful. Had an umbrella I could borrow, a cork screw for my wine. I had a terrible experience with an Uber driver there who wouldn’t return my phone I had left in the car and she let me call my mother from her own personal phone to let her know. She was so sweet and understanding when I was crying and very upset about the situation. Next time I would like to get a bigger room but overall the hotel was so clean, so cute. The area around the hotel was very questionable unfortunately (lots of homeless, drugs, sketchy people) but felt safe in the hotel as there was 2 doors to get through that could only be done with a room key.

Sabena, the owner of about 40 years, is AMAZING and lovely and so are her staff. They will take you back to a standard of warm hospitality from years past.
Note: no children at the hotel.
Sincerely suggest you call Sabena prior to booking for her to explain this unique hotel.
It’s super clean, beds are sooo comfortable and there’s lovely spaces to meet fellow travellers. Great location and recommendations.

Property was clean and secure, unfortunately there is a few homeless shelters near by and seeing someone unconscious on the sidewalk near the hotel isn't uncommon. Not the hotel's fault, they do everything they can to protect their guests and Property

Great stay. Close to downtown wo the buzz

Staff and the property itself were very nice! The place had a lot of care put into it and it showed. The bed itself was extremely comfortable and the room was a very cosy. The toilet took some time to refill so we needed to wait a few minutes before the other could use it. The shower was extremely small but the showerhead had good water pressure. The area was very convenient, with the hotel being very close to both byward market and the rideau center. We noticed a lot of homeless people and other sketchy people around the area but that is more of an overall Ottawa issue it seems. The hotel itself is extremely safe, with no one being able to enter it unless you either buzz in or have a room key to scan. Overall good experience!

Only 4 parking spots, you pay $20 for a day and are not allow to move you car otherwise you will lose your spot and the money!
I asked to buy a water bottle and was told to drink from the faucet because the water is drinkable! If you want to go there and sleep for a night go! But don’t expect anything great if you are looking for a real hotel don’t go to this place! I left after one night and went to a better place for $30 more in downtown Ottawa! This place is not worth $150 per night! I wouldn’t pay no more than $60

Loved our stay at the Swiss Hotel! Customer service was fantastic and helpful, overall it was clean and a nice environment. Our bathroom and room was clean and tidy and had what we needed for our stay. Only thing I wasn’t a fan of was how cold the room was. I turned off the AC and even had to turn the heat on and I still felt cold. I would still stay again as it was great for what we needed and a good location for heading DT for dinner and drinks.

This is a very nice boutique style hotel. The host is lovely and everything is of the highest quality. The only negative for me is that there are no mini-fridges in the rooms.

The Hotel is quaint. The rooms are certainly on the small size and the bathroom is, well lets say "tight"! If you are claustrophobic they might be a little bit anxiety producing. The hotel is nicely appointed in the true colours of the Swiss flag. Everything worked and functioned, just as it should! You must be aware that in the description, it does state in regards to parking, that there is no in and out. So basically, once you park, and there is a $20 fee for parking, if you leave to go out for something, there is no guarantee that your spot will be available when you come back and you will then have to park on the street. There are only 5 available parking spots and they are tight. Overall, it was a good experience.

The hotel was nice, the service was really good. We were warmly welcomed and got great recommendations from the receptionist. Our room was spacious and uniquely decorated. It is mentionable though that there is no elevator, luggage has to be carried up the stairs.
The hotel is located near Byward market, the neighbourhood has many homeless and was quite loud at night.

The hotel location is great, downtown of Ottawa but it has lots of homeless people in hotel area, even 3-4 homeless just sitting right in front of hotel entrance, lucky they didn't make trouble or noises. The next day checked out when we drove out the town we seem more homeless people in there, it seems the crime might come easily, we was worried. The hotel itself is quite good, boutique small but well managed as well, keep everywhere tidy and clean, we met the hotel owner, she is kind and fabulous. The room is nice but a kind of too small but overall all is good.

Lovely quaint boutique hotel that’s well maintained and overseen by Sabina, who ensured everything is top notch. Lovely garden area, sitting room and close to Byward Market. Looking forward to next stay there.

Lovely quiet hotel and surrounding area. It was literally a couple of blocks from the main hub downtown. The hotel is hosted by the lovely owner who made us feel very welcome. The room
201 was clean and comfortable with a great walk in shower. Tea and coffee provided, I requested fresh milk which was given with a smile.
Walkable to Bywater, railway station and restaurants. Would recommend

I loved the way Sabina took care of our group, she was very friendly and made me feel like family rather than just a paying guest.
Although the daily climb of stairs and lack of fridge in the room was not ideal, the coziness of the place and cleanliness of the rooms made me forget these.
I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

You are welcomed with threatening signs that you will have to oay for the duvet/linens if there is a smidge. No instructions on how to use the fireplace. No switch. Reserved room with fireplace you can’t use. Overall unwelcoming. Lighting not great. Room is pretty but overall very disappointing experience.

Clean and cozy place to stay. Perfect to spend several nights. Shampoo was 3 in 1 which was also a body wash, which is not my preference, but other than that it is a very very good place to stay.

Swiss Hotel is the quintessential European hotel in the heart Ottawa. The rooms are small, but beautiful. If you have mobility issues, ask the hotel to put you on the main floor. Unfortunately, reception is downstairs, so you may want to ask them to check you in online. There is no elevator in the building.

Heating system malfunction which left us roasting the whole night.
No breakfast possible, just coffee. For a “hotel”, it’s not adequate.

Bed was super comfortable. Cable TV remote did not work. Neighborhood around hotel very sketchy.
