It was a clean and comfortable room and location was exactly where we needed. On the negative side, everything is extra. For the price many other hotels we’ve stayed at are more luxurious and include things like breakfasts.

We reserved a king room with a tub. Checked in early online, arrived at hotel and was told our room was no longer viable and we would be in a queen room with a roll away bed that rolled all over the room- had no breaks. Told they had left some amenities in the room to make up for their mistake. It was three small cookies???

Very well located hotel in lower old town. The room was large with a large clean modern bathroom. The most outstanding feature was the staff and service. They were cheerful, friendly and helpful.

I licked my wallet and passport in the safe … couldn’t get it to open… the maintenance man was up to open it in 5 min.
Very impressed!!

Fabulous room, service was excellent, location was perfect! Highly recommend!

Pricey, but a very nice hotel, with a very good restaurant. Great location, right in the middle of Old Quebec City. Service was very good.

The breakfast is not in the range of a 4-star-hotel, it is a 2-star-breakfast.

Second stay. Beautiful property with a great location. Would be 5 stars, but this time, housekeeping was a bit lacking, leaving surfaces dusty and never changed the sheets in a 6 day stay. (I know there is a card to ask for that, but my experience has been sheets get changed every few days, regardless of whether you use the card)
One cool novelty is the wine /liquor vending machine in the lobby!

Luxury hotel, great location for dining, shopping, and nearby sights. So glad I chose this hotel.

Adorable boutique hotel. Easy walk to cruise port, shopping and dining

Stayed here for one nite before leaving on cruise . An easy 10 minute walk to the port with a suitcase and backpack. Room was spacious and very quiet. Hotel located in area with multiple restaurants nearby to walk to. We had arrived in Quebec City from Montreal by train. Hotel an easy 13 minute walk from the train station .

We were celebrating a special occasion and opted for a Deluxe room to get a king bed. We stayed in a corner room on an upper floor with a view out to both the St.Lawrence River and Old Town. The view was spectacular. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom had a nice walk in shower. And while the bathroom vanity area had a moderate amount of places to stash toiletries, I was glad I brought hanging bags for toiletries and cosmetics. Our room had a long closet to hang clothing though we mostly lived out of our suitcase since we were only there 3 nights. As with most hotel rooms, I wish there were more places to hang wet towels. The lobby was pleasant and the all day coffee bar was a nice feature. Breakfast is pricey and not included. There is a self-service wine bar in the lobby however the wine cost seemed fairly expensive. The hotel is in the lower area of Old Quebec and very convenient for visitors.

We enjoyed the location very much! Very walkable, wonderful art galleries and great restaurant options.

We enjoyed the spacious room and bathroom, the comfy bed, think bathrobes, and the great location. The free coffee machine in the lobby made great cappuccino. The neighborhood has loads of great restaurants—we ate all of our meals nearby in Bas-Ville except for tea at the Frontenac.

You can't control the air conditioning.
meaning it's freezing most of the time
the staff knows and they are embarrassed about it.
and they have heaters ready ( even during the summer)
and
the staff is a bit rude and not very helpful
don't be fooled by beautiful pictures that they have posted.

Hotel 71 is in the lower town of Quebec City and is great for time in Petite Champlain. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff were warm and helpful. We have stayed in many places over the years in the city and this stacks right up there with them all. Definitely will return here.

We were allocated a room that had a faulty air conditioning system which the hotel was aware of. The noise kept us awake all night. It spoilt our 3 night stay as we were too tired to do anything on day two. We got moved to another quieter room and the first night's stay was refunded. However, we would have preferred it if our stay hadn't been ruined by something the hotel was clearly aware of.

Great location with cafe and dining options in hotel and nearby. Front desk anxious to book events and dining for guests. Multiple seating areas in lobby; seating area in room, also. Hot and cold water dispenser in lobby; happy hour free to guests on Friday afternoon. Staff is knowledgeable and very service-oriented. Always a smile and greeting.

This is a very chic boutique hotel. It is a renovated bank so we had old safes in our room. Lovely, well appointed room. The star is the shower. Best shower we have experienced in a hotel. The hotel room was quiet, dark drapes, nice linens. We requested a queen bed and are confident is was only a double. Location is fabulous. Being on the lower level means lots of walking. Doable. Great restaurants nearby. Valet car parking was not an issue. They were prompt at delivering our vehicle everytime. The only thing missing was some type of an out door terrace to enjoy summer in Quebec City.

Beautiful property, rooms were great with high ceilings and everything was very clean. Great location.

It’s convenient located, walking distance to everything, but the bed is small and not very comfortable.

Wonderful hotel. A huge incentive to stay there is the valet parking and bag holding. Check in is 4pm, but we have been twice at 10am, dropped off car and bags which they take care of, and ejoyed the beautiful Old Port area all day before returning to the hotel.

We recently stayed at Hotel 71 in Quebec City and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel is beautiful, with clean modern lines. Our room was fabulous! We had a stunning view of the St. Lawrence and enjoyed a magical firework display on our last night. The bed was very comfortable. Loved the red velvet chairs, bathroom with tub and makeup mirror. My husband enjoyed having coffee in the room.
We also enjoyed the wine dispenser and absolutely loved dinner at Matto's! The early morning brunch was also a treat with a wide variety of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, breads including croissants! I am recommending Hotel 71 to all my friends and hope to plan another stay soon!

Excellent hotel with lots of style and character. Incredible high ceilings and tall windows. Wonderful bathroom with rainfall spa shower. Spacious and well appointed room with comfy bed. Great lobby with ample common areas and free espresso drinks 24/7 in lobby lounge. Location was perfect and convenient to Lower Town and Upper Town sites. Our room had an incredible view of the river, Lower Town, and the Chateau Frontenac.

Excellent location. They made a mistake at time of check in, but right away they offered free upgrade to suite. Service is excellent and staff are friendly. I will recommend the hotel. Also I was lucky to see the fireworks from the room. Such a surprise!
