This was such a wonderful stay! As soon as we walked in, I felt at home. I am so happy we got to stay here to enjoy the hospitality. Wonderful location as the botanical gardens are just a block away, a tram stop across the street, arts center about two blocks away, and plenty of good food options.

We felt so lucky to be able to stay in Classic Villa during our short visit in Christchurch. The hotel is a lovingly restored villa in the heart of historic Christchurch—across the street from the heritage buildings that comprise the Arts Centre, the hotel is very close to Botanical Garden, Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū, and many good restaurants. Our room was very comfortable and clean.
Our hosts Steve and Jackie were very nice and welcoming who provided wonderful service all around, including severed delicious breakfast to us. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the hotel to others.

We stayed at one of the classic rooms which is located on the ground floor. The managers try very hard to make the stay pleasant. Rooms are clean and comfortable and serviced daily. Location is excellent, very close to all places of interest with a walking distance. The verandah is great to sit outside on a sunny day. On the negative, there is no mini fridge or coffee making facility, only available thru the breakfast room.Water took a very long time to heat up. There is limited parking available, and we had to park two blocks away for a free space. Included breakfast had great variety of condiments, but no hot food served, eg eggs. Overall it was a pleasant stay, but with the amount of money there are more comfortable modern hotels around.

We enjoyed all of it. The location, the owners, the room, breakfast with guests.Exceptionally wonderful hosts. The old university across the street is being restored into a art museum and has wonderful shops and interesting features. The botanical garden was right there as well. And the jump off and jump on trolley ran right in front of the Classic Villa. Guests were amazing and full of energy and accommodating. We felt right at home even went out in the evening to the courtyard and shared a bottle of wine.

Enjoyed a lovely stay at the Classic Villa. Located in central Christchurch, many points of interest within 10 minutes walk.
Property isn't classified as such but to me seems like bed & breakfast style accommodation. Very quiet and feels like being in someone's home.

This is a beautiful property located across the street from the Botanical Garden and green space. We stayed in the suite which I would recommend. It is so so nice! The host and hostess were available on the premise for what ever we needed. There are several areas in the villa for relaxation. It is quite for sleeping and safe for walking at night within a few blocks of shopping and eating.

I appreciated the seamless check-in. They text you a code, you enter, pick up your key at the (unmanned) reception desk and just go to your room. Super easy. I had one of the traditional ground-floor room. The bed was super comfortable. For water or tea or coffee, you need to head to the shared kitchen, just a few feet away. In the morning, the nice Argentine couple running the place were very helpful, served a nice little breakfast, and took care of the check in formalities. This was a pleasant, easy place to stay in a great Christchurch location.

This property is marketed as 5 star but does not have a cooked breakfast. !!! Room 3 in the old accomodation requires a new door lock. It can be very frustrating being locked out of your room. The managers Steve & Jacque are excellent. Nothing was a problem, they are very good.
