Window shades had holes and were considerably worn. Ineffective in the end.

Nice hotel, great location close to the city, bars and restaurants just around the corner. Check in took too long, but overall very satisfied.

No bathroom door. Just a curtain instead.
We booked a 400 sf room and got 300sf.

Very nice hotel, atmospheric entrance and reception area. Rooms were large and airy, with lovely bathrooms. Everything seemed really well maintained. The restaurant was excellent, with a lovely quiet outdoor area. Food was excellent both at dinner and breakfast. A special mention to the very lovely restaurant staff.

What a unique hotel. Great location with a beautiful park. Close to the underground station

Hotel is very nice and clean. The views from the 12th floor are stellar and the cargo cranes in the port is within view.
Very beautiful property, if you get a car you definitely have to pay for thier parking inside or outside. If you opt to drive a car the driving in germany is pretty easy other then the people on bicycles who dont seem to have any common sense or survival instinct.
On normal nights the street is loud and full of people because its right next to a popular train station and St Pauli is a popular destination with the local populace at night. The neighborhood does look rather grimy with spray paint but is perfectly safe for anyone with common sense.
The downtown area is 5 stops away and most of hamburg is within easy reach of mass transit. Also the hotel is taller then most buildings which makes it easy to find when your walking around.
I only knocked off a star on property condition and facilities because the pillows were terrible and hurt my neck, the electric powered shades in the bathroom didnt work in my moms room and her mirror fell off the wall, niether of these problems are due to shoddy maintenance and problems like these are prone to happen, and when these problems were brought up to staff, the mirror was fixed promptly, and for the shades the hotel knows about the problem and management is working on a solution.
Excellent hotel if you want to sight see, i will definitely stay here again. I did not eat at the hotel resteraunt or bar.

Very special atmosphere inside these historic brick walls, inside which they built a new modern hotel. Very friendly and smooth service.

The lifts need a serious upgrade…. In the morning its 15min just to get in the elevator down to the breakfast.. it stopps at all floors where people want in 😅

2 things to consider: let the cleaning staff understand and talk English. It is hard to be weakened by them and they don’t understand you want to sleep ( at 0800 am) and then THE ELEVATORS, it isn’t great to wait more then 8 minutes to be able to get down from top floors

Very slow checkin system.

Really great hotel in an amazing old building. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Excellent buffet breakfast and appreciated it ran until midday so no rush. Great location for easy access to the city by foot or on the train.

Stayed here for two nights. Added an extra package to receive flowers, sparkling rosé wine and a bunch of other treats. Also got an upgraded room, which was very nice!
Food: The breakfast is very good, with a large selection of everything you expect from a German hotel. Nice atmosphere with lots of restaurants nearby which are open pretty late, even on weekdays. A rare thing if you're from Sweden.
Service: Excellent! Friendly and diligent staff.
Location: The park outside the hotel was full of life and people. Perfect if you want to just sit outside and enjoy the weather with a beer in the sun. We got a room on the 15th floor facing the railway, but even as a light sleeper that didn't bother me. A bonus is that you have the Heinrich Hertz Tower near the hotel, which you can use as a landmark to find the hotel from anywhere.
Remarks: The only negative was the AC in the room, which couldn't handle the very hot and humid summer days (around 28C degrees), but that's always tough. The small fridge couldn't hold very much beer or water. Not a huge problem because the in house bar is good, and you always have restaurants and stores that sell cold beer or wine.
Parking is offered by the hotel, but there's also parking in the street for €11.50/day (09:00-24:00).

A very good hotel, very clean and modern rooms. Staff were polite and helpful. Only concern was when I visited the bar late at night for some bottled water and was charged €14 which is an outrage.

What I liked most is the design and how they Incorporated the old water tower so elegantly into a hotel. It's like staying in a museum. The rooms are quite comfortable and the beds exceptional. I did not get a chance to try the cave bar but it looked really cool.

We travelled as a family of four for two rooms. I normally travel business and I am Gold member here at Hotels.
We had ordered and prepaid two rooms out of which only one was ready after official check in time. We first waited loooong before we were served at the reception and then and arrogant receptionist told us that it was just bad luck the room was not ready, but we should find joy in knowing they also often helped with early check in for free. Tired after a longer journey we just wanted a room - but the receptionist did not find it urgent since we had one room but he could offer us a free coffee. I asked if it was a joke that he would compensate no room with a cup of coffee - it was not! So we waited, by the way without coffee since the coffee maker lacked water and the receptionist did not know how to fix it. We later found out that the coffee in the reception is free anyway (when it works) so not really a compensation.
We finally got our room and after some complaining got one free nights of parking as compensation - but since they never checked our plates - I guess I might as well have parked for free, now I ended paying 25 Euro for one nights parking. All this left us annoyed for the first day!
Despite this bad start of stay, it luckily all in all still turned out to be a good stay at the hotel!
Fantastic service minded person receiving at the breakfast restaurant, nice facilities and beautifully restored interior.

States on line parking but access is narrow and staff neglected to state a coin was needed to exit…. Made a very difficult reverse
The Air-conditioning control was broken so to sleep the windows had to be opened and the noice was bad.
The lift to the garage malfunctioned but the door open at the parking level.
On exiting the lift floor was 10/12 inches higher than the floor and I was lucky to stay on my feet.
The hotel is a little off the beaten path and walking to the Reeperbahn dodged homeless and druggies
Not a pleasant stay
The room was ok and the bed comfortable
If Airconditioning worked it certainly would have helped

Excellent. Great location in city, close to many interesting things by foot and subway close by. Nice view from our room at one of the top floors. Very clean and great comfort in room as well. Will stay here again our next time in Hamburg!!

Nice hotel, good location for nightlife and not too far from centre shopping area, 10 mins on train or 30 minute walk. Beautiful building with history. Located in a park so u can find some unsavoury characters nearby late at night but that is an issue with any big city across Europe near nightlife. Bed was a bit soft for my liking but the hotel was well located, clean, staff very friendly and helpful so I would recommend and stay again. Unfortunately I did not eat at hotel so cannot comment on food however lots of options few minute walk away.

Very nice hotel with competent staff. Not too far from the exhibition center

Stay away in times of covid. Very poor service and little-to-no covid backup plans. I repeatedly asked for daily cleaning (they noted it 5 times), yet only had my room cleaned twice in over a week. One morning the cleaning lady unlocked my door and walked in without knocking (yes, without knocking at all!!??). They replaced the breakfast with an overly expensive albeit horrible "lunch basket" with 7-11/gas station like triangular sandwich etc... Next to the hotel the area is full of rats (I saw at least 10 walking to and from the hotel) and there are drug addicts and dealers everywhere who will approach you every single day... I could honestly go on... Just overall a super sub par hotel that I would not recommend anyone during covid.

Good overall. However in early mornings I don't know what exactly room service was doing but they were closing the door(s) every minute sooo loud, it's unbearable after pleasant Hamburg evening and night

Very nice hotel. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Lots of restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood. Walking distance to city centre. Parking very expensive

Nice hotel and in a cool area. But they stopped my card at the hotel on day 2 claiming that they had tried to take payment and it hadnt been authorised.
I went to reception within 5 minutes and asked them to process the same card they alreasy had on file, and it went through without any issues.
Found it a little rude.

The building is a unique old water tower. It's a very cool building and the water tower theme is reflected on the inside as well
