Great place great location been there many times before and it never lets me down

The room was acceptable for the price we paid. However we were attracted to this hotel because it included use of the pool and spa. This area was terrible. I refused to use it, because it was so dirty from the changing rooms to the pool. It was so smelly in the steam room that I couldn't go in it. We did complain and were given a small refund, but could not cancel and check out and be completely refunded. I could not afford just to lose my money. I would never recommend this place and I would absolutely never return.

Stayed with my grandson for a week at the end of Aug. Beautiful old hotel with lots of character. Our room looked like it had new carpet and curtains but bathroom was still in the 80’s. (No toilet brush in bathroom!!) Room was cleaned and beds made as often as you like.
Hotel needs a lot of money spending on it to bring it up to scratch, it could be a fantastic hotel if it had a coffee shop put in, its own bar, gift shop, entertainment etc as it seems like the one Legacy forgot!
Pool area needs updating and the showers/ changing rooms especially.
Even so, we had a nice stay.

The hotel had some beautiful features but needed a lick of paint and some TLC.
Alot if the bars and rooms weren't open any more, as well as elements of the facilities broken - steam room and jacuzi.
The room we had was rather small but workable.
This could be an amazing hotel but just not qute there yet.

We had good time with a great sea view room. I must say swimming pool
Is goods as well however they need to clean more in swimming pool area. Both changing room in swimming pool area are very old ( broken wall and tiles)
and not clean at all. They need to make sure they clean all the time .
Suna and steam room are excellent.
We only used one day swimming pool
we stayed 6 nights. Rest I must say good and location is perfect with car park.

Third time staying at the Hotel Victoria & another lovely stay, very friendly staff & bonus the lift is now working.

Nice location, close to Great Western Beach. Our room was nice, had great sea views and was quiet, although no aircon and had no fan either, until they managed to find a tiny one from somewhere.
The hotel however was very run down, not very clean and poorly maintained. There is also no onsite food or drink except for the pub next door, which is ridiculous for a hotel. They also only tell you this after you book. The hotel has amazing sea views but there is no access from the hotel to the seaside and the only places to sit on the grass area you need to walk through a parking lot and bin area around either side the side of the hotel. The area was terrible and you feel like you are sitting in front of an industrial area, so not very nice. Breakfast was ok, but it was exactly the same every day so got boring fast. Its such a shame cause the hotel has so much potential in a nice location, but for the price, I would highy recommend finding somewhere else to stay.

Friendly stuffs, close to beach

Helpful staff, big rooms, parking on site. Stayed for a few nights in a family room and it was huge. Nice little balcony to sit out on. Building is a bit dated but location is perfect.
3.9
Room was great. Wonderful sea view. Great size. It’s dated but clean and the staff are friendly. Nothing to complain about at all.

We stayed two nights and I felt that the hotel had character but needed a redecoration.
The staff are friendly and helpful but the room we were given was below the standard I expected for the money I paid. The furniture was old and chipped/ scratched and the wardrobe was missing a handle. The room which had no air conditioning was very warm and the supplied fan helped us get to sleep. The window only partially opened due to a security strap and we had a lovely view of a Tesco Direct store.
The bed was comfortable and the television worked. Had to have the kettle replaced due to the smell it produced when boiling.
The bedroom itself was clean but had a few marks on the walls. The bathroom had hairs on the floor around the sink which we noticed when we arrived. Also the grout around the bath had mould in numerous places. The shower was reasonably hot but took a while to adjust the individual taps to produce the right temperature.
We were informed that the restaurant and bar were closed but we could use the Irish Bar next door or the Mexican restaurant on the other side of the hotel. The bar was a poor substitute for a relaxed hotel lounge and the restaurant appeared closed. Again a poor substitute for a normal hotel restaurant.
The parking was reasonably charged.
Overall, I was disappointed with the hotel and would think twice about staying again if I was visiting Newquay in the future.

Love the old oak interea woodwork

We loved our stay at the Victoria. Please don't come expecting the most modern decor or facilities but if you are an appreciator of old school style and don't mind a bit of mildew or peeling paint, then the Victoria is an incredible place to stay in Newquay. We brought our young spaniel and he loved it, staff were so welcoming and the place has such charm, is located *perfectly* in town with wonderful sea views. We fell in love, and we will be back!

We received exceptional service. The staff were very.friendly and accomodating. I requested a disabled parking bay for my dad and it was set up waiting when we arrived. They also provided him with an amazing ground floor bedroom. They couldn't do enough it was an amazing stay. Thank you Victoria we will certainly come back again. I can't comment on the breakfast though as we didn't have it unfortunately, but maybe next time.

A dated property but extremely good value for money out of season with car parking charges only £7 a night. Rooms were fairly spacious with plenty of storage space and tea/coffee facilities and bathroom toiletries and a good tv . Only complaint would be that the rooms would probably be unbearably hot in summer months but lovely and warm in winter.
3.9
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean hotel. Main area is tired but the bedrooms are bright and modern. The Bathroom tiles floor and wall in our room needed re grouting. Breakfast good. Lovely stay.
3.9
Centrally location budget option.

Really enjoyed our stay, hotel takes you back almost to the late 1800’s. Some say a bit spooky but I liked it. Brilliant location! We managed to secure one of the hotels parking slots for our stay at just £7pd and left the car there for the weekend. Everything is walking distance. I would stay again.
3.9
Staff really nice. The pool and jacuzzi was very unclean.
I doubt its normal for a jacuzzi to be green/brown?
I rinsed my costume afterwards and dirty water was running from it.
Otherwise good for a cheap stay, but only for the room.
I would stay again for under £50 margin.

Shower bar was loose and fixed the same day as reported. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was good, a great choice of food and drinks.
3.9
This is a good hotel. The room was fine but we didn't sleep as it was way too hot, despite turning the heater down. Didn't expect that in December. Great breakfast though but probably won't be returning .

Lovely place great service and stuff

Fabulous old building with great features, room was lovely although a bit of maintenance needed. Fantastic bed, very friendly staff, superb breakfast and great position. We'll definitely be recommending to our family and friends.
3.9
We had a great stay, a beautiful old hotel. We enjoyed a swim and spa each day. Breakfast was lovely. We found it hot for sleeping.
3.9
Unfortunately, everything about this stay was terrible.
We were greeted by a very unfriendly staff member on arrival. The room was smelly and mouldy. The whole hotel is Very dated - it’s a real shame as you can clearly see how impressive it would have been once upon a time.
3.9
Lovely hotel in a great location. Stayed here a few times as always good value. Amazing pool, with long opening hours, that you can swim in when you want, instead of other hotels where they have silly booking times.
3.9
Stayed at the hotel before which is in a great position for Newquay and is very clean for such a large hotel. Disapointed with the room. Same room as previous year which is so small.
