I enjoyed the vicinity to the beaches, shopping and dining.
Staff and facilities were outstanding.

Hotel is very nice but restaurant closes at 9:30 and breakfast opens at 7:00 only, no way to get something to eat in this hotel during my business time…I think you should improve the service as it is not at the right level for this 4 stars hotel

We very much enjoined our stay at the Golden Tulip. The service was excellent and the staff most accommodating, having allowed us to park our tall vehicle on the forecourt

Pros - pool area was genuinely lovely during a heatwave. Great food served to your deckchairs. Rooms have great air con, reception staff are helpful (booking us an airport taxi and fixing a bathroom leak issue very quickly). None of the facilities (gym, pool etc) were ever overcrowded, which is a big plus.
Cons - picked the area for the local beaches, but they weren't very nice, so staying closer to Marseille port is probably a good idea if you're not worried about having a pool. Food, although genuinely delicious, was overpriced - €25 for a salad! The same goes for the spa treatment. The rooms were fine, barring two really irritating issues: 1) the shower heads are very badly designed and fall off their stand when turned on, so we ended up having to take a bath each night. 2) our double bed was just two twin beds joined together, but because they weren't designed to be connected they kept on slipping apart at night, which led to plenty of mishaps.
Overall, we had a decent stay there, but there are some very fixable issues that could make the hotel really great. That said, looking at some of the problems of the others in this price bracket, I still think this is the best option for a poolside holiday retreat in Marseille.

This is not a 4 star hotel. It is run down and service is non existent. We waited for 7 hours to get into our room and then it smelled of cigarettes and we had to leave. Everything is very run down. Pictures are deceiving.

L’hôtel est tres bien situé pour les amoureux de la mer.
Ce n’est pas l’hôtel de plus moderne de Marseille, mais les chambres et espaces communs sont immenses, on s’y s’en bien. Je recommande !

The hotel is clean and quiet. The receptionists are nice especially a guy called Valere; Valere is so helpful, nice and professional. But and but Make sure not to forget to wear the mask, otherwise employees will panic and act as in military school. The security guy there is very strict, he doesn’t even allow you to extend your legs on the metal table at the terrace, Swimming after 8pm is not allowed; you almost feel you’re in a paramilitary school.

Don’t stay here if you are looking for friendly service or hospitality. Especially not if you are looking for Expedia gold rewards. We were downgraded as the hotel had pictures from better room categories loaded to the superior which we booked. We booked a room with explicit 1 king bed and a balcony in the pictures. Instead we were given a wheelchair accessible room with no balcony and two twin beds. The drain in the open plan bathroom was blocked so the bathroom became one massive puddle. After persistent complaints we were reluctantly moved to a better room the next day. Only here we had to deal with neighbours that spent all day smoking a coal fired shisha on the neighbouring balcony and partied loudly in their room with friends and music until 5 in the morning. Despite being able to smell the coal on internal hallway, through the doors of their room, security was not bothered and simply told us that smoking is allowed on the balcony. No apologies or reparations of any kind were offered for the excessive noise. We were not given the advertised Expedia VIP voucher either. Very deceptive and underperforming hotel.

Hotel located in a Prado so quite convenient to get to the Calanques and next to the prado bars and restaurants...With a COVID situation we did not have the room cleaned every day though towels could be exchanged at the reception. Nice view so picture was relevant while choosing the room on the app and when we get it.

One block from beach, gated parking with elevator to room, very good breakfast, and spacious room.

Perfect room location and sea view. Unfortunately the pool was not available for nearly 3 days, half of my stay.

Excellent respite only 15 minutes from downtown Marseilles, but felt like a true resort. Partial sea view room was basically a suite. Heated pool was great. Only small downside was the very slow service at the pool bar, but lots of other dining options in walking distance.

A great hotel in a great location, placed near the beach and Borely Parc

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. We had a room with a partial sea view that also overlooked the racecourse. The room was great and beds very comfortable. It’s located close to the beach too. We also had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and I would highly recommend.

We have stayed a few times before in the previous years. This time, the stay was dissapointing. The pool was very crowded as staff were seen letting friends inside - whom were loud and smoking hash. The food menu used to have very nice options. There was a 2-3 violent fight ongoing in the rooms one evening with a concern of a woman being beaten up. Upon reporting this to reception, it was just ignored. The fridge and shower in the room did not work. Strangely after reporting this on the last day, instantly the fridge worked without any maintanance! We shared our experiences with the manager (Mathilde) but apart from the fridge and shower, the other issues were kinda ignored to our faces which was kinda rude. I didn't feel good for paying abour 1000 euros for the weekend (room + expenses) for this experience.

Highly recommended for cleanliness, comfort and friendly service.

Sketchy location, but per Reception it’s a good area. Room A/C didn’t work & it was laste Sat night so no one could fix it. We then asked to be moved. New room was slightly better.

Was told that i would need to leave a deposit which would be frozen temporarily only to arrive back in the UK to find out the hotel has decided to charge me my deposit. I am expecting a refund or my deposit back as I only used the room to sleep in not have a party.

We had a great time here, located 2 min walk from the beach which was the main reason for booking this hotel. The staff provided excellent service and gave some excellent recommendations for eating out and places to go.

Location was not good for vacation. Inconvenient transportation, especially weekend. running swimming pool only 10am-9pm unreasonable. Price was much higher than the conditions it has.

Staff were very friendly.Had a few drinks in the bar and ate the in the restaurant, the food was really nice.
This hotel is a bit out of town and there is not much around but it was fine for my stay.
The room was big, very bright but with black out curtains. Overall a nice place.

Staff were very pleasant, good facilities and easy access to beaches and Vieux Port

Breakfast very poor for the money charged. Service was poor during week due to amount of business people in hotel. Room was noisy overlooking a busy road and petrol station. We were moved on our second day to a quieter room. Through Expedia we paid more than if we had booked direct.

Staff were friendly -especially the concierge who was very helpful.
staff at breakfast accommodation. And the pool staff were great and pleasant

Tulip Hotel just needs to fix some small things that befit a 4 star rating. Broken tiles in the spa pool area, hand rail for difficult to get into spa pool. Also TV - French or English language options always defaulted to French. Bar staff were very accomodating and friendly! Would be great to have minibars in rooms! Also the shower head was hard to control, water hence in all directions!

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable room - Only thing missing was coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

My daughter and I had an incredibly relaxing 4 night stay in this beautiful hotel. Our room was kindly upgraded and we had an amazing view over the hotel pool, the sea and the racecourse. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Little extras like dressing gowns and slippers helped to make our stay extra special. Wonderful spa facilities! Will return!
