Well-located (walk to Archaeological Museum and Santa Chiara), charming hotel with palatial breakfast area. The neighborhood is filled with shops and Neapolitan character!

Charming hotel in great location.

Hotel is in a good location in the Old Town Area. Front desk staff were not helpful when we needed luggage racks in the room and the breakfast staff had loud music in the mornings, had other hotel employees come to the breakfast area and use their fingers to eat while standing and chatting. The breakfast room is gorgeous and worth going to breakfast.

This property is unique. It’s located in the Center of Naples, but on a very quiet street. I like that this hotel is, out of many others on Expedia, has 24/7 reception with English speaking staff and with 1 pm checking-in time. We had triple room with Snow White bedding on King bed. The bathroom has very small shower stall, but we managed fine. The key word for the hotel is CLEAN. The premised used to be Archibishop’s and the Breakfast room is grandiose. If I ever come to Naples again, I will stay in Decumani. Highly recommend this hotel.

A gorgeous find right in the heart of the old city - but you’d never know from the outside! We felt truly immersed in Naples.

Location hard to find , cars cant get there

Quaint little hotel, I loved the breakfast room, it's even more stunning than in the pictures. The room was also lovely with great AC. Convenient location for easy walking to attractions and transit. Great place.

Great experience, taxi dropped us off very near, it was easy to see the entrance. The rom was smal but nice, clea, the interior is exceptional, like a palace and their signature - breakfast room - is spectacular! Very nice location for day and evening Napoli experience! Only good words for the Decumani de Charme hotel.

Located in a seemingly less than salubrious area of Napoli, reception staff a little aloof and not exactly welcoming, but OK, not rude, just aloof. The actual hotel once inside is quite nice, with an impressive dining hall. Our room was also adequate but the bed mattress was quite hard - the worst we’ve encountered on our Italian tour. Breakfast was good though the scrambles tasted of nothing. The waiter that served us was friendly and welcoming.
So for the price, we were disappointed overall- we stayed in an air BnB when we first got to Naples and it was superior for half the cost - better bed, bigger room, bigger bathroom.
What was useful at this hotel was their booking a taxi for us which took us to the airport for a reasonable price.
Can we recommend? Not really, doesn’t represent good value I’m afraid.

We stayed here a year ago and liked the location and quiet spacious rooms. This year the breakfast seemed not as good and the reception staff not as helpful as our previous trip.
Overall its comfortable and easy walking to the city.

The hotel itself was truly quaint and comfortable but the area it was in was filthy and extremely hard to get to. We were in a rental car and drove for over an hour on the tiniest streets, could not ever find the hotel and finally returned our rental car to the airport and took a taxi to the hotel. Even the taxi could not make it down the narrow streets and had to drop us nearby with directions on how to walk to the hotel, all our vacation luggage in tow after midnight, through crowds which were insane. I would not stay here again - we were scared trying to get to it and didn’t arrive until nearly 2:00 AM because of all the problems finding it. When we finally did check in the reception clerk said we just should have called him to get instructions - nice to know but this was after we were already so scared and had to rerun the rental car and take a taxi from the airport.

Property was very clean on the inside with a professional staff and an amazing breakfast bar. Area around the property is a college campus filled with graffiti and limited outsides lighting.

Travelling with my teenage son - 2 night stay at the end of a trip around Italy. We arrived in the evening and we were a bit taken aback at first by the unassuming entrance to the hotel but very pleased once we entered into the main body of the hotel. The foyer is small and plain but the main hotel corridors and rooms are much more decorative which befits a 4 star hotel. Check in was quick and easy. The room itself was a bit dark but that is mainly due to the tall building opposite blocking out the light (I imagine this is common in Naples), Air con was great as it was quite warm (June). Twin beds were comfortable if a bit narrow. Shower was very small and could do with an upgrade but otherwise fine. Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast room was magnificent and good selection on offer.

This was a great stay. The hotel is centrally located in Naples. Rooms were clean and nice and everything you can realistically expect from an older European hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful!! Nice breakfast. I would stay here again.

The Hotel is wonderful and we would gladly return. The hotel staff were superb. The area outside the hotel had graffiti but that is common in Naples. We felt safe.

The hotel was great, plesant welcome and friendly service. The room was nice and clean, the shower was the only thing letting it down. Breakfast excellent. There's a restaurant and bar of the top of the street which are both great and well worth a visit

Impossible to find. We spent 3 hours trying to find the property. Ultimately we parked the car and walked to find it. Google maps could not find it. Check in staff arrogant and disconnected. Photos of the property on booking site create an illusion. Entrance is a mouse hole in a wall.

This is in the heart of Naples, so bear in mind, it’s a gritty city. Quiet alley like street. Lots of graffiti on the streets nearby. Very short walk to Spacca Napoli, one of the main streets to stroll through the gritty heart of Naples. Elegant dining room for breakfast though the breakfast buffet was relatively ordinary by Italian standards. Glad we stayed here, though.

The Decumani is right in the heart of the historic area of Naples and major sites are easily walked to. The breakfast is amazing and served in a beautiful room (where you can also enjoy a late night drink with the bartender). The staff was extremely helpful and responsive to questions and concerns. As another reviewer mentioned, don’t let the street view deter you from this hotel! It was a great place with a great family run restaurant right down the street.

Hotel itself is very charming. The dining room with the terrace are exquisite.

My recent stay at Decumani was marred by the abysmal quality of customer service I received throughout my entire visit. From check-in to check-out, the staff's attitude was consistently rude and unprofessional, leaving a sour taste in my mouth.
Upon arrival, I was met with disdain from the receptionist, who seemed more interested in chatting with their colleague than attending to my needs. They were dismissive and lacked basic courtesy, making me feel unwelcome from the start.
Throughout my stay, every interaction with the staff reinforced my initial impression. Whether it was requesting extra towels or asking for restaurant recommendations, I was met with sighs, eye-rolls, and curt responses. It was evident that they had no interest in providing assistance or making my stay enjoyable.
The pinnacle of this poor service came when I encountered an issue with my room key late at night. Instead of offering a solution, the front desk attendant rolled their eyes and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by seeking help. Their lack of empathy and professionalism was shocking and completely unacceptable.
It's disappointing that such a beautiful hotel is let down by such atrocious customer service. No matter how luxurious the amenities or how comfortable the rooms, it's the staff's behavior that ultimately shapes the guest experience. And in the case of Decumani, the staff's rude demeanor overshadowed any positive aspects of my stay.
I would strongly advise against

Wonderful hotel in the historic centre of Naples. Great location for exploring the area. Rooms are relatively large and comfortable, breakfast room is grand and beautifully decorated, and the breakfast is excellent. Lots of dining options nearby. Staff and service excellent throughout.

The hotel was full of character, elegant and historic.
Service was okay but it would have been better if they had answered my emails before I arrived.
Tea and coffee in the rooms would be better.
Very nice breakfast and dining room

Location! Location! Location! Everything about this hotel was awesome! Breakfast was hot and cold food, with as many cappuccinos as you want. Staff is very friendly and went out of their way to help us. Rooms are big and bed is comfortable. Restaurants, bars and shopping a short walk away. Will definitely stay here again

This hotel is absolutely wonderful!
The dining room was something straight out of a palace!!
And the included breakfast was ample and delicious!
The immediate area surrounding the hotel looks a bit unkept but once inside the hotel it is immaculate!

Excellent location, within walking distance of landmarks and ferries. Hotel entrance very modest, and there isn’t practically a lobby. The inside is however very roomy, very nice dining room. Rooms are nice as well. Staff very friendly and helpful

The hotel is on a beautiful building from a different period.
Gorgeous breakfast room and the breakfast spread was excellent.
