We very much enjoyed our stay at Riverside Hot Spring. The staff was friendly, the on site mineral baths were very enjoyable and easy to book and the food was very good. For us, it was amazing that we could have our dogs join us on the trip. Thank you!
2.5
Great little hotel, friendly staff, spacious rooms and the private soaking tubs are very nice. We ate at the restaurant downstairs and though it's a little pricey, the food was delicious and worth it for a special occasion.

Amazing 100+ year old hotel located in Lava Hot Springs Idaho, holding on to the feel with all amenities updated! Private mineral baths, beautiful decks overlooking the Portneuf River.
Lovely Restaurant and bar with excellent waiter (Will) and Chef Josh!! Had a European feel and was very clean and comfotable!!!

Great stay! Much better than the neighboring hotel that was horrible customer service and filthy.
2.0
Comfy little hotel that has everything we needed. It is old which was expected but the age is part of the charm.
The portable A/C unit is a bit loud. The mineral pools were an added bonus, the #2 pool we used could use some cleaning. Still, we are planning to make use of them more in our next visit.
The lightbulbs in the hotel are a mix of warm and white lights. It may have better ambience if they were all warm lights.

Love the individual hot springs room you are allowed to book with your stay!

High priced for what we got. No warm water to shower in. Food prices were outrageous.

We loved it here! It was a great experience. Staff was great, room was nice and clean. Dog friendly is a plus! Was great walking to the hot springs down the road and then a soak in the pools downstairs before bed. We will be back.

It’s an old property so the carpets are older and dirtyish. It’s kept up well by the staff. Staff was friendly as could be. Great location, next to the big mineral pools. And there’s 3 pools in the basement you can use up to 4 times a day. It’s a little pricey and the breakfast was a little small, but now I’m nitpicking. Great stay and the pools made us feel terrific!

Location was great, clean place but needs new mattresses. Staff was pleasant but the hotel is under staffed.

Great older style hotel in the heart of the town. Historic and a different experience to chain hotels.

Love the history of the building. The private hot tubs with natural mineral water, that were readily available at no extra cost, were great. The lounge/restaurant is fantastic. Sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine watching the river was very relaxing. Be aware, the trains come through regularly, but it didn't bother me. We will definitely stay here again and have a massage at their spa.

Window air conditioner with bad installation, greasy smelling smoke enters room from grill &bar next door . Expensive for what is there

I loved the historical atmosphere inside the building and our room. The inside hot springs was cool but sign up quickly they fill up fast.

The hotel was very cute and quaint. And I would give it five stars, except the bed was not good. It had a dip right in the middle and so you would just roll to the center other than that great hotel

The food was good in the dinning room. The service was great too.

The property is old but well maintained. The staff is friendly and very guess first.
We did soak in the onsite pools. The area was clean and made for an enjoyable time

Great old (110 years) hotel. Classic. Comfortable bed. Great view!

I like their free breakfast. The lady cooked the french toast in the kitchen. It was really good and hot pool/wave boat ride is close. The room and building are old and dirty, the portable air conditioner was so loud.

Our room was quaint and comfortable. It was a perfect birthday staycation with the lava hot springs close by. The inn itself had a few private mineral baths guests could reserve by the hour.

Building itself could use some maintenance.

It is a historic hotel so it has rustic charm. Absolutely beautiful woodwork and views. Pleasant hot springs. However, if you are plus sized bring your own robe. They require you to wear one and the sizes they have do not fit all bodies. Otherwise, it was very nice and the breakfast selections are tasty.

The hot pools in the basement were so relaxing. The breakfasts were delicious. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable. It was a great stay!

This hotel is perfect for the history buffs and also if you want the convenience of hot pools on site. When they say adults only, I would recommend for people 50 and up. Younger people might enjoy one of Lava’s other locations more, though the staff here was kind and friendly. It is convenient to the entrance of Lava’s tubing, and you can rent tubes from Gator right outside. The Rooftop bar is across the street, and Lava’s hot pools are just a short walk away. I mention history buffs because the architecture and many original design elements are still present. There is a lot intact from the buildings original construction offering some interesting quirks. I also caught a glimpse of a dark-haired spirit on the lower floor. I think a man and nice so I wouldn’t come here looking to bother him. If you are paying attention you might see him too. It’s safe to assume it may be why only adults are welcome at this location. Someone could write a western novel here comfortably, and the mattresses and pillows are quite comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend this stay to people looking for a sterile clean airport-hotel environment. Some of the fixtures need to be replaced and may even be off putting to some. The room was clean, but some things, like a worn out toothbrush holder should be removed altogether and a bedspread with holes in it shouldn’t be offered to guests. All in all it was a worthwhile stay and if a good nights sleep is what matters, you can definitely find one here.

Very nice hot mineral baths
Fabulous dining

Bathroom tub not clean in or side. Window air conditioner had so much dust. It needs to be cleaned

Very enjoyable and friendly staff 😊

The first room we were in was very nice (old but in a cute way) but the window air conditioner did not do enough to cool the room. We were moved to a different room that was dated (maybe updated in the 70s). It had an in room air conditioner that was slightly better then the other. The public areas of the hotel were hot. The mineral spring tubs were nice but combined with the heat in the hotel/room... maybe a great choice for spring or fall but June was not a great time to go. The restaurant in the hotel was very good!

I just love hotels with so much character! I would have stayed longer if I could have. Dave helped me check in. Great guy! Derek was my waiter. Super personal! The morning staff was congenial and made me feel like I lived in a mansion with my own staff. I loved it!
5.0
Historic building that’s being updated with modern facilities but with homelike ambience. Enjoyed the private thermal pool very much, as well as the on site restaurant.

Very accommodating and friendly stay in this small town. You get to soak twice in the evening and twice in the morning. .
Good to be there in shoulder season. The town probably gets very crowded in summer.

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel. I loved the idea that it was built nearly 100 years ago and appreciated the wooden doors and architecture , The rooms were clean and comfortable.
1.5
The hotel is super nicely located and the hot tubs at the hotel were really awesome. The breakfast was really poor and the service personnel were not very observant. A major plus was the bar and the people working there.

Good hotel very old need more maintenance

This property is run down and not as advertised. We arrived early and walked the property to find broken window A/C hanging out of windows, over grown weeds in front of property and general lack of maintenance. It was not the 5-star property as advertised. We did not stay nor should anyone else.
