Great stay in an well-maintained historic ex-fraternity house! The fresh-made breakfasts were way better than we expected. And the location so close to campus couldn't be beat....just a quick walk to everything!

We go to Minnesota once a year to go fishing. The Iowa House is about half way between our house and the cabin on the lake.
We always stay here going to and coming from Minnesota. It’s clean, quiet, and easy to get to from the feeeway. The staff is friendly and helpful.
We love it!

We were enjoying a combined 50th reunion of ISU college friends and family. I stayed at a hotel the first night with one group of classmates, but when i arrived for my longer stay with family friends, it was so much like coming home! We could gather in small groups, enjoy coffee and visit and step.into the next room to visit with others. We met wonderful other folks who were doing student orientations and learned about their excitement to begin the Iowa State experience and we were happy to share.our half-century of Cyclone pride. Just loved our stay and the entire ambience of Iowa House. Looking forward, we'll choose this as our "home" again! Thanks

Love the location!!!

The staff does not know about public transportation. I had to go out and find out on my own. They gave me the wrong key to the door and I couldn't get in. I spent an hour knocking on all the windows and no one came out, I was alone in the house, there was no other guest or any of the staff. With my things inside, being cold on the street, cut off because my cell phone is foreign and without WiFi, without having anyone to turn to, I was forced to break a glass to enter. I called from the reception phone to the help number they had on a sign and it was not available. If I had more to do, I went to bed and, not happy with the lack of attention, they took me out of the room with the police as if I were a criminal and expelled me from the hotel. I couldn't even spend the night, I had no way to ask for help or explain the situation and they did not return my money. A terrible experience, to be forgotten. And we are talking about the United States, a first world country. These things don't happen in mine. Terribly attended, terrible management of the conflict. A real shame.

Like Iowa House overall.
4.7
Very adequate overnight stay, very cute historic home in a great location. This is definitely your typical corporate owned facility, with offsite owners. Breakfast is mediocre at best. Air conditioner didn’t work in our room, but that might have been a one off issue.
4.7
I liked the combination of old-house comfort and up-to-date automatic check-in.

We loved the Iowa House for a one night stay in a college town. The place is charming and must have great stories having been a frat house. After arriving we were a little skeptical of location right amongst college housing but we were pleasantly surprised. So much space indoors and outdoors to enjoy. We would definitely go back. Highly recommend.
