Gorgeous stay, beautifully designed hotel in a stunning location in the National park. Dinner each night was delicious local food, and the menu fully changed every night. Great recommendations on walks. Loved the sauna built into the rockface.

Amazing, remote, beautiful scenery. Lovely food. A place that seems to be made with love. Would especially recommend this in the autumn/ spring/ winter - as many mountain walks to explore.

The hotel is a little gem off the beaten track. The hosts were extremely helpful and catered to all our needs. They also offer pre booked meals in the evening which were of a very high quality using a lot of there own produce. They exceeded our expectations and would recommend to all especially those who like outdoor activities.

The room was modern and updated, but the hotel kept the old style black and white marble tile foyer and stairway. It was beautiful.

Absolutely magical. Relaxation in a lovely, rural setting. Owners so friendly. Excellent breakfasts and dinners, made with local ingredients. Close to a national park. Wonderful outdoor terraces and pool. One of the best places we have ever stayed.

Fantastic place in the mountains with very friendly staff. The food is great and you can really relax here. The road to the hotel could be better but everything else is perfect !!

The welcome we received on arrival was excellent as was the room. Although there was no fridge in the room, there was one available. Likewise, tea and coffee, although we had taken our own kettle and everything needed. The pool was chilly but enjoyable as was the solarium. We did not use the sauna. The village and countryside were spendid. Breakfast wasn't as complete as we'd enjoyed elsewhere but it was okay. Being able to eat outside did make it more enjoyable. Dinner, we thought, was overpriced. Although it was beautifully prepared and served, thirty euros each without wine was a bit of a joke. We couldn't get WiFi in the room at all and the base of the shower was very slippery. It would be very easy to fall.

Excellent and friendly service, excellent food, comfortable room, wonderful views and all in all a great place for a relaxing holiday or for us a great location for walking in the mountains. Many thanks to Andreas and all his staff.

Very quiet location. Good breakfast. Good wi-fi. Very friendly staff. Had the place to ourselves for most of the day. Able to find the location fairly well. Parking and hotel location down steep hill but ok once you get used to it.

Nice and cosy hotel at a remote and tranquil location on the hill. Great hospitality from the host.

By far the most enjoyable place of the 10 areas visited. Andreas was welcoming, helpful and a wonderful host. The meal prepared by Andreas' sister was by far the best experienced in Spain. The accommodations were clean and beautiful! The only down side was that they were booked and we were unable to stay longer. The town was friendly and welcoming and the area was fantastic for hiking and relaxing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It takes a little bit of effort to find this hidden gem, but it is well worth the effort. Andreas and Pepa were incredibly helpful and made us feel very welcome. The whole experience is so relaxing and peaceful. We wish we had stayed longer! The rooms are spacious and well appointed and there is plenty of amenities available in the lounge area.

A fantastic welcome. VERY tasty food - and plenty of it. Do not be fooled by the address. It is not in Alhama de Murcia but about 0 mms away up a mountain in the National Park. But if you have the time it is well worth the visit.

boutique hotel in a small village in the middle of walking country about 75 minutes from Murcia airport. Eat on site with set menu 30 Euro per head or two reasonable restaurants in the village. Only slight negative is that it has a plunge rather than swimming pool.

Wonderful! Could not have been better. The staff is extremely attentive to all needs and requests. Sublime serenity for a much-needed recharge.

The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout out stay. The underfloor heating was marvellous on the tiled floor and came into it's own on returning from a wet walk in the park. It dried or clothes very effectively!

Lovely place, excellent food and great host. Quite hard to find though - we had to ask a local! Shame we didnt have more time to see the surrounding area.

In the hills, Booted Eagle flies by, lovely meal at the hotel.

Ideally situated in the centre of the Parque D'espuna with two good quality and inexpensive restaurants in the village. The guest house is a traditional farm house expertly and tastfully restored though with modern internal features.
The finish is good quality throughout and Andre, the host, who has a little but passable English is unobtrusively attentive. The breakfast of fresh fruits, hams and cheese was supplemented by freshly baked bread and cakes.
All in all the attention to detail was exceptional. Will happily return and would recommend this to anyone.

From the moment we arrived at the Bajo el Cejo, we were able to relax. After what had been a somewhat harrowing journey, the immediate friendly and personal attention of Andreas, the owner/manager put us at our ease.
From then on relaxation was everything. Located in the sleepy village of El Berro, built into a hillside several thousand feet above Alhama de Murcia in Southern Spain, the Bajo el Celo is idyllic. We only booked one night there but both agreed we could stay a week if we had the time!
This is the ultimate rural chill - with quality - the meal we had in the evening was superb - no choice - only a fixed menu but beautiful. And if that's not to your liking then there are three other restaurants in the village.
The rooms too, though simple had all mod cons including a/c and a balcony view of the surrounding hills. They also all contain guides to the other Rusticae across Spain - individual guest houses with character - we hope to try some others!
A great place to go walking - several suggested routes are available. But a warning - this is NOT the place to go to if you want raving night life and the hustle and bustle of city centre restaurants!!
However, if you just wanted a place to relax like us - then it's ideal - with spectacular views thrown in for good measure. Thanks Andreas for genuine hospitality!

My partner (irish) and me (spanish) had a fantastic break in this hotel. The hotel has been very nicely done, looking after every detail. The peace and harmony of the place was exactly what we were looking for. The dinners and breakfasts were great, well done.
We both fully recommend this place.

Booked this hotel after reading your reviews and am so glad we did.The meal we ate on the terrace with the most fantastic views was superb. It was all locally produced and the service top class. We had 5 courses ending up with cactus sorbet which was deicious.30 euros each but worth it. The village had at least 3 other places to eat so we tried some oh them as well and they were really good also. The small swimming pool was a god send as it was very hot and enough sun beds to keep us happy. The mountain road going up was very steep and windy but comming down we were told the other road alot less so and I was alot happier. We would definately return

This was a wonderful place to stay in the mountains. Very difficult to find so I would strongly suggest that you go to the Tourist Information in Alhama de Murcia for directions. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best we had in Spain. The view and drive up the mountain is worth the effort. Highly recommend.
