Very loud hammering, due to construction on the building. starting at 7:30 am. Trains passing by kept us up. Bedding smelt like body odor and needed to be replaced. Bkfst not good. scrambled eggs cooked in crock pot and appeared black n color. Front desk attendant nice.

At check in we were told our room wasn't ready and to allow them an hour because they are running behind. We went back 5 hours later because we attended a wedding and walked into a dirty room! We canceled and went home. All hotel guest we encountered had the same experience. Unacceptable!

The hotel is beautiful and was overall very clean. However, the day we arrived, the manager and several employees had walked out, leaving the man at the front desk (on his first day!) to run the hotel. Not only was our room not ready by checkin time, but we ultimately ended up cleaning our own room, changing our own sheets, etc. The man at the desk was amazing, but in way over his head. He needs a raise, the owner needs to figure out his employee morale problem, and our room should have been comped.

Some issues with the room and the "breakfast" fell far short of expectations.

AC WAS POOR. THE BLIND IN THE ROOM WAS BROKEN. THE POOL WAS CLOSED. THE FRONT DOOR WAS CONSTANTLY LOCKED. THE BREAKFAST TIMES ATE INCONVENIENT. CUTE PLACE FROM THE LOOKS OF IT AND GREAT LOCATION.

I appreciated the staff’s friendly demeanor during the few encounters I had with them. While there were some things that were out of the control of the hotel (loud, inconsiderate guests, a train nearby that ran 24/7, loud traffic, etc.), this was a disappointing stay. Dusty furniture, poor pillow selection, refrigerator that did not work, and lack of daily housekeeping (although I was there for three nights). Trash stayed overflowing, towels not refreshed/replaced, etc. I will not return nor will I recommend this hotel.

A great older hotel. Very quaint and mostly quiet depending on other guests. Lots of places within walking distance.

Nice hotel. Very clean and quiet. Breakfast was adequate, but options could have been better. Friendly staff. Excellent location for what we had planned for the weekend.

I reserved a double room with two queen beds because I was traveling with my daughter, but they gave me a tiny single room with one bed. Not even a baby bed fit in the room, so I ended up sleeping on the floor. They said a baseball team arrived that night and had no other room. The building is vintage and lovely, but I needed to rest, and I could not do it.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Liberty. Room was comfy, spacious and clean. Lovely old building with real charm. Chrissy was a fantastic host who literally did everything she could to help during my stay. My only minor gripe would be that breakfast options were limited….. but there is a very good cafe literally next door for those who want a more substantial breakfast.
Otherwise, the Liberty was exactly what I needed it to be for my stay.

I thought I booked a night but I didn’t. I then asked the front desk lady how much for a room and she said 425. So I booked on Expedia and she said I booked $20 over her price. I asked her how that was when it was 425 and she said that was the room number. But then she gave me room 414. I was not happy at all. Also, the room AC didn’t get cold. We work up hot in the middle of the night

There was no security on the hotel doors, like the sign suggested. Anyone could walk in. The lady at the desk was mean and rude! The door was propped open to our first room! There was soap in the shower and finger nails on the counter in the bathroom! It obviously wasn't cleaned. The sheets on the bed looked like they weren't changed and they didn't smell good! The carpet was stained and not just in our room but everywhere. No one was vacuuming the carpets in the hallways and they were gross. The eating area was a complete joke! Coffee was terrible and even cold from them not making it one morning. The area wasn't even clean. The mean lady needs to be fired. Our toilet ran in our room and the mini fridge froze our food. This hotel needs to be gutted and new management is a must.

It was very clean and pleasing to the eye,the staff was very friendly and helpful especially the new girl, however the beds were very hard, the pillows were small like baby pillows and the water pressure in the shower was non existent.

Very well done remodeling of an old building. Only hotel in downtown area and many dining choices available.
Cons:
Train whistles through out the night as well as many fire/ambulance sirens 24 hours.
At the rates charged some hot items could be added to the breakfast.

I lived in Cleburne 20 plus years and always heard the rumors surrounding the hotel being haunted. I since moved away And now come and visit my grandkids but came across a really good deal on Expedia for a week stay. I jumped on it with a little hesitation but I am very glad I did. It makes me want to never stay at another hotel again. The staff was helpful yet left you to your business whether 4 pm or 4 am. The rooms have an antique look but spotless clean all the way to the toilet. I usually bring my Own cleaning supplies but on this stay I didn't even have to use them. I was very impressed with the overall hotel. It could use better breakfast and my room didn't have a microwave but those are minor things that can be looked past due to the exceptional experience we had with our stay.

Lovely, quaint, very clean hotel with friendly staff, but seemed to be understaffed. Very limited breakfast buffet - cereal, toast, limited fruit, occasional hard-boiled eggs, Texas shaped waffles - that was often manned by the front desk staff. Often we and other guests had to request refills/replenishments of the limited items - like coffee and waffle batter. Housekeeping was very limited despite requests to have room serviced. Got a partial servicing once during our stay. Often had to get towels, tp, toiletries, etc from front desk when we returned at night to an un-serviced room. Staff was very prompt and friendly when supplying these items at night. Curtain in room didn't go up and down, so we pinned/clipped it up to see out the window. Hairdryer broke mid-stay, but was replaced promptly. Cleburne is a small, quaint town so probably not too many overnight guests. But we were there for the eclipse, paid a premium, and thought the service would be a bit better. But the stay and visit were overall positive - and we got to experience the total solar eclipse!

Oh my goodness, I can't wait to tell you about the most amazing hotel my husband and I stumbled upon last night! It was already pretty late - around 10:40 pm - and we were worried about finding a decent hotel where we were headed. But we lucked out and found the most incredible property that surpassed all of our expectations!
Despite the property information saying there was no front desk, we were warmly welcomed well past midnight and shown to the most stunning lobby. Seriously, the interior was like stepping into a time capsule. The vintage furniture and decor were so authentic that you felt like you had traveled back in time.
And our room was the absolute cherry on top of this amazing experience. The king suite was beyond perfect. There was no musty hotel smell, the AC unit actually worked and cooled the suite, and the plush carpet was so clean that you could walk around barefoot without any icky residue sticking to your feet. It was like stepping into our own luxurious bedroom! And let's not forget the bed - it was so comfortable and cozy that we almost didn't want to get out of it.
The breakfast wasn't the best, but who cares when you're in a hotel that is this amazing? We even had a Texas waffle, and it was delicious. Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic experience and we can't wait to do it all over again the next time we're in town!

The hotel, itself is very beautiful. You had to call someone to come check you in. It was somewhat out of the way to get to the hotel. My particular room did not have a closet to hang my clothes, the toilet did not function properly...had to remove the lid to manually flush it, and the bed was almost as hard as attempting to sleep on the floor. Inam sure there are much better choices, especially for the price paid for the room.
4.0 / 5.0
Quaint hotel with secure interior opening doors and unique history. Staff is down to a bare minimum but adequate. Issues were minor such as drapes not opening and no heat-proof cups in room with coffeemaker, cramped bath area (no tub), parking in next block across back street. Breakfast was better than the continental advertised, had a wafflemaker and hard boiled eggs though coffee was out. I wouldn't call rate a great value but was an upgrade from basic motel chains. Was generally quiet with few guests during our mid-week stay.
