I'm very selective about the hotels I stay in and I would rate the Adler HG as perhaps the highest scoring overall hotel I've staying in. From location, to the spa, steam room, architecture, friendliness, effectiveness of AC, parking, room layout, pricing, pool and other amenities, it's the complete package. I had reserved a balcony room but was upgrade to the terrace room which is nice but there is some construction directly across the way. A very nice room and terrace sans the neighboring construction. The parking is tricky, you have to turn left over a pedestrian bridge you wouldn't think you could drive over but after the bridge, turn right and park. They will park it for you. 13 Euros per day. My only complaint is no conditioner, but that seems to be a European-hotel thing.

Beautifully renovated historic hotel. Luxurious room and bathroom with ample room to unpack, nice rooftop pool ,solarium and gym. beautifully presented and delicious breakfast and friendly, helpful staff.

I am always reluctant to give negative feedback, but my experience was extremely disappointing. As I booked, nothing indicated I would stay in a garret room. Management later maintained the pictures were clear enough, but I strongly disagree. When I found out upon arrival, I immediately asked reception to be relocated, just to learn the hotel was fully booked. I asked to void the reservation for good (at no cost, obviously) but staff flatly refused. Not an apology, no other compensation offered (not even a discount at their own restaurant). So I had to stay in a very inconvenient situation for three nights. Only on day two management offered to cancel the rest of the stay, but clearly, at that stage (already one night into the stay, with bags unpacked for me and a 5-year old), I had no interest in finding another hotel. Notwithstanding the 'reservation accident', the accommodation was a letdown under many respects. I paid 200+€/night to be housed in a garret room, with limited fresh air and light even with the dormer window fully tilted outwards. As I am 6"+ ft. tall, I kept bumping my head on the ceiling every time I had to get in our out of bed. No air conditioning in the room, so it's either sleeping with the window open (you get river noise and light at dawn) or closed (claustrophobia+severe heat). The furniture is outright crappy and old (mind: not ancient). Towels were few and scratchy, amenity kit almost nonexistent. Overall, a 3*** at best with prices of a 4****L.

Hotel Adler is a unique hotel in Brixen. You feel like staying in a castle. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and the owners are very welcoming.

Lovely hotel right in the old town and surrounded with character. Nice but fairly simple breakfast. Nice staff and all very clean. I had a third floor room so in the roof but still no complaints and very tasteful.

Great location right in center of town ~ though parking can be a challenge if you have a car! Streets are VERY narrow!! Great breakfast buffet. Rooms slightly dated, but overall a lovely hotel!

Their restaurant and wine bar is teriffic The Hotel is somewhat difficult to find given the many one-way streets. The town of Brixen is beautiful and with a detour

Fabulous hotel & staff. The location is right in the town centre. We were upgraded to a junior suite which had a beautiful little balcony.

We had a great stay at GA we found it so convenient to walk straight out into the old town of Bressanone. Staff were very helpful. We had a room overlooking the river where there was a bike & walking lane be careful as it can be noisy with people returning home late at night if you are a light sleeper. Otherwise really great old hotel with very good breakfast lots of fresh fruit (Cherries at this time of year)

Great stay in this beautiful, classic hotel. It is perfectly situated in Brixen and has easy access to all the town has to offer (village square, restaurants, outdoor pool, river walks...). They also gave us a Brixen Card which is such a good idea. It gives you access to all the buses, trains, cable cars and museums in the valley. We used this every day and it saved us a lot of money. we will return to do more hiking here and will likely stay here again.

A very nice, upscale hotel. Ideal location along a beautiful river lined with trees and next to the historic city center.

Very comfortable and well-appointed facility in excellent location. Staff were extremely helpful during our stay. Laundry service was the one amenity we missed.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Goldener Adler. The hotel was beautifully restored. The staff was very knowledgeable and kind. We did have a hard time to find the exact location of the hotel but was very fortunate to obtain one of six parking spaces there in the highly desirable part of Brixen. Great restaurants in walking distance. Fantastic free breakfast included. We wanted to return the following week but no rooms were available.

A beautiful, comfortable hotel in fairy-tale Bressanone. The coffee shop downstairs was good, I'm only sorry we were there on a Sunday as their restaurant in the center of town is closed that day. Stay here...it's a great find!

We booked at the last minute and then suffered a flight delay but they waited up for us despite arriving in the early hours. A lovely hotel run by lovely people in a very central location.

This hotel is close to the cathedral and the several attractions in the area are within 10 minutes walk. The hotel has an excellent dinner about 200 metres away, a well as its own facilities. The breakfast is good, and cars can be securely placed for free in sections about 100 metres away on the opposite side of the river. There are a remarkable set of murals in the cathedral cloisters, and a substantial collection of art from the twelfth century onwards in a fine palce building.
The region is mountainous and the dolomites can be reached within 1 to 2 hours. The town is on a railway, and the trip from Verona follows the river for nearly all the way. The town of Brixen (german) or Bressanone (italian) is a good base for the Brenner pass into Austria and Bozen/Bolzano
