Beautiful location, helpful and friendly staff. Very close proximity to transit. Gorgeous pool!

Great property. Easy to find and space is open. The standard double is small but brilliant when you don’t spend a lot of time in the room.
Pool amazing and staff superb.
A few minor issues with shower door and door frame but other than that, would recommend

Our stay was excellent, or room was lovely and clean, the restaurant served great food options at reasonable prices. All the staff were really friendly too. Highly recommended for those who dont like the busyness of hotels, this resort is much more laid back.

Had a fantastic stay. Staff were really friendly. Loved the swimming pool!

the location of the property is ideal as the compound is very spacious and scenic but it also benefits from a quiet and relaxing feel. The resort is next to a mountain and there are also great views of the port/ocean from the viewpoint.
Piano di Sorrento is very well connected to Sorrento (can be reached via train - 2 stops, 5 mins). The train station is 10-15 mins by foot and otherwise, the hotel is able to arrange a shuttle to the station which costs around 4 euro per person. Beware that the last train leaves Sorrento at 10pm!
We very much enjoyed relaxing at the pool. There is a poolside bar too, if you would like to order beverages/snacks.
It’s honestly a perfect option if you’re looking for a mix of exploring and relaxing on your trip!

Had an amazing week at this beautiful resort. Very pretty with all the flowers and plants. The staff is very friendly and they always want to help. 10/15 minute walk to the train which was good!

The stay was brilliant, 10 minute walk to train station where you can get trains to Sorrento/Pompeii or buses to Amalfi/Positano. Much less crowded than Sorrento centre. The pool area is great and was very quiet when we stayed. The double room although basic, has everything you need including a TV and good AC. The staff are really helpful in instructing how to get to certain places and reception is open 24/7. The cleaners tidied our room every day. I would recommend this stay to those on a budget, and the bigger rooms/cabins looked great for those with more to spend.

I went with my young adult daughter. The staff were so helpful with accommodating all our needs. The restaurant staff gave us. Table on patio even though it was t set up. Their pier was beautiful, amazing sights to Sorrento and the other way to the black sand beach. The cottages were comfy and so homey. The location is 15min walk to train station. You must get a ticket for $1.50 euro and see Sorrento, 5 mins away. We would definitely go back

This was a great place overlooking the water. Lots for children to do (playground, pool). Lunches at the pool were fantastic. The staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included.

I am currently inter-railing Europe so I am aware of the type of stay that we had booked. We arrived at 10pm and the staff were very friendly, however the 2 person bungalow was below standard. There was 1 working socket so we could only charge one of our phones at a time, which was inconvenient when travelling. The shower was mouldy, there was no cleaning service during our stay and we were not informed that we would have to pay for access to anything but a bed to sleep in basically. If you are just looking for this it is good, but the cleanliness and noise of other guests was off-putting. For a “4-star resort” it does not meet the rating advertised.

Chalet turned out to be an extended old mouldy caravan nothing like the photos. Groups of German school kids that are loud from early in the morning till late at night. Good breakfast

Fairly basic facilities but helpful and friendly staff. No real problems with the rooms or site.

Accomodation was very basic, only 2 ring cooking facility, no oven or microwave. Small fridge and some cupboards. Bedroom really sparse with thin mattress. Had to pay €40 for cleaning at end of week, but only thing clener did was empty bin and pull covers across bed. So was a very disapointing stay. Breakfast was
just a roll some jams and hot drinks.
Only plus was staff friendly

I stayed Villaggio Turistico Costa Alta due to my original accommodation falling through at the last minute. It wasn't the kind of place I'd generally choose to say, which makes reviewing it quite tricky to be impartial.
First, the location. Piano di Sorrento is a lovely little village, surprisingly full of high-quality reasonably-priced restaurants within walking distance. Careful on those roads though! Public transport is good via the Circumvesuviana train, however, the buses were unusable (they get full in Sorrento and then either drive past or miss out Piano di Sorrento entirely). The resort has a nice view from the tops of the cliffs if you sit where the wooden benches are (watch out for mosquitoes).
We spent 4 nights in the stone-built cottage, and one night in what I can only describe as a caravan with wheels. The stone-built cottage was good, although nowhere to sit inside (two bedrooms, small kitchen and bathroom). There is a seating area outside, but this seems to be a popular resort for large groups of young Germans who like to party outside their accommodation which isn't separated from your own. The "caravan" accommodation was much poorer, and any noise bleeds straight through badly.
We only permitted a breakfast on one morning for some reason, which was just as well as it seemed to consist of a bread bun, some jam and coffee.
The staff were fantastic, so friendly and welcoming and accommodationg. 3.5/5

Rooms are basic but comfortable with great air con the pool area was amazing we had it to ourselves most of the day. The restaurant seemed to get large groups of older kids on excursions at night but they were all supervised and well behaved. Staff were very friendly and receptionists went out there way to help at all times. I would go back again. Location was great we could walk to Piano and then get a bus or train to anywhere we wanted.

Overall a pleasant experience, shame about all the school visitors as meal times were a bit noisy and some of the children of school visitors and other guests were very inconsiderate in and around the pool. There was no supervisor at certain times.
Staff responded to any issues with rooms promptly.

There is no comparison between two 4 star properties, Grand Hotel Palatino - Rome, and Costa Alta.
The Staff was very friendly at Costa Alta but the rooms should be rated at 0 stars.
Old bunk beds army style, old dirty couch, 1970 style/look kitchenette, very small bedroom and even smaller tv, with an outdated bathroom with small septic tank flies allover.
Great piece of real estate very poorly equipped.
The pool looked amazing, just couldn't use it after hours.

Not what we expected, I thought there would be sea views. Bungalows were very basic.

I knew beaches were in short supply in Sorrento and I like a swim so a good pool was important in my booking. Pool is a really good size with lots of seating around. There were some school parties on site while we were there but had a good swim every day and sometimes even had it to ourselves. Had a one bedroom bungalow plus a sitting room with 2 gas rings and a fridge, and also a table outside to eat breakfast and have a drink in the evening. There is a beach/quayside 5 minutes walk away from the site. Sorrento is 5-10 minutes away by bus (there is a shuttle bus 3-4 times a day from the site) or a 15-20 minute walk to the station and Sorrento is 2 stops (1.20 euros and 5 mins) away. The same station gives you access to Pompeii (about 3.50 euros) and Naples. There are quite a few nice restaurants in and around Piano di Sorrento as well as in Sorrento but Piano itself is definitely a bit more down market. Didnt eat at the site restaurant but did use the very reasonable bar. Staff were friendly and helpful. School parties were a little loud in the early evening but it was always quiet after 11. There is a nice seating area overlooking the coast. Its a good value option for staying in the area.

The hotel was published as a 4 star hotel. It is hardly a 2 star hotel. the room is tiny, the furniture is very old, there are no mosquito's nets on the windows (and there are lots of mosquitos...) the bathroom is tiny, with insects coming out of the holes... the floor was not clean and the blankets were very old.
The rooms are like little huts in the garden (all rooms seem similar) and the garden is nice.

We had a lovely stay in April at Costa Alta - it is away from the main tourist area in Sorrento, quiet and picturesque, but at the same time only a short walk from shops and the station, and quite near the marina and the beaches in the next town. The staff was very friendly; the restaurant was convenient; and the cabins were spacious and clean.

We were on our way to Amalfi coast. So, we needed a one night stay place. It was very suitable for that. Mountains are really nice and the chalet was spacious.

Very basic cabin accommodation. Was clean. Had a cook top but no kettle or toaster and nothing to wash dishes with. Very tiny room but comfortable beds. Has a large swimming pool which was very clean. Fairly good breakfast. Easy 10 minute walk to piano train station which is 2 stops from sorrento. Very nice staff. For the price it is good basic accommodation just outside Sorrento.

Lovely family friendly hotel, rooms are a little compact but beautiful surroundings and view. Staff are friendly and helpful. The biggest problem we found was that it was a little out of the way, 2 train stops from sorrento, how trains are regular and cheap, however a 20 min walk to station. As we went just at beginning of station was hotel was a little quite, however I would suggest that letter in season would be quite lively which would be of benefit as last train back from sorrento is at 9.30. Overall a pleasant experience.

Our first impression of this place was walking through the garden in the dark. We heard waves crashing and church bells ringing. We noticed the lights of Napoli far off across the bay. Next morning we stepped outside and gasped at the view...spectacular vista of the sea over a cliff in a garden of orange trees and ancient olives. The room was basic with rustic charm. We used the kitchen and enjoyed shopping at local markets to buy fresh fish, sausage, fruits and vegetables. The lady who checked us in encouraged us to cook pasta, so we did. They had a beautiful pool, at least Olympic size. Situated in Piano di Sorrento, we were away from the tourist areas, yet just a train/bus ride from all the attractions. We were a 10 min walk from the Circumvesuviana train which goes from Napoli to Sorrento and all around Vesuvius. We bought a train/bus pass and used it the first day to visit Pompeii...off to a great start! Next we took the bus to Amalfi. It was one of those cliff hanger bus rides on a narrow road hugging the edge above sea. Spectacular! We came back again and again. We rode the bus all the way to Salerno. We saw Capri. We took the sightseeing bus up the mountain from Amalfi. We walked back down on the ancient path with at least 2,000 stone steps. When it was time to leave, we both shed tears. Yes we'd stay there again.

We wanted relaxed vacation after from a very stressful year. When we saw the apartment and the facilities we cancel right away, even when we had to pay for the one night. We didnt like it at all. Too many kids running around the campus (and I am saying campus because it looks like that). Running around and very noise was the main reason we cancel. Its more for spring brake style hotel/campus . We have a baby girl and with this people/kids running around, no quiet time for her naps. Too bad we couldn't enjoy it, the stuff was very friendly at the beginning trying to find a quieter place for us but it didn't work. When we cansel and went to the office to pay for the night they didnt like it and they was taking their time doing the paperwork. Too bad, sorry but not the style of the vacations we wanted. I should read the reviews first taking about how noise place it is.

Very clean. The pool was imaculate,a bit strange at first having to wear swimming caps and wash before you enter the area but it all makes sense to keep it all clean.Car park is safe if you have a rented car. There is a super market just outside the site so you can cook and eat at your kitchen for very little money. The owners and staff are mostly older so have a relaxed and mature style. Not noisy. It was a great place to set a base from.

Staff were extremely helpful, even drove us to the train station when we were leaving.

The accommodation was not what I expected from the website's pictures, although I shouldn't really have been surprised from the low price. We seemed to have a slightly different room than booked and had twin singles in the main room rather than the expected sofa that turns into a bed. Very basic, but clean with friendly, helpful staff. Wireless internet was not working, so we had a lo-fi holiday in a seemingly lo-fi country :) . It was funny to use the tablecloths provided as towels - are towels really that expensive for a hotel to buy? I can see people being annoyed on arrival here, but we had a good time and it appears to be a great, safe spot for kids.

Inexpensive accommodation in a friendly family-run holiday village with a really great pool. The chalets are basic but acceptable although the presence of several student groups might well put many people off we felt they were well behaved although noise does carry and units are very close together. Take your own towels and you must wear a cap in the pool. Convenient for day trips out.
