The room and bathroom were a little outdated and dingy, but I think it is on par with the other hotels in the area. The wifi was absolutely terrible, they might as well not offer it. No fridges in the room, and no water provided

The staff at the hotel were welcoming and attentive. This hotel could use an upgrade though. The bathrooms while clean, showed their age, Missing was a stopper for the wash basin and the holder form the hand-held shower would not hold the hand held fountain. The hotel is a bit tired but eminently sufficient for a stay. An English speaking channel on the TV such as CNN or BBC World News would have been nice. Breakfast was adequate but not the best I have had.

We actually stayed at the Famissi Eden, a location best suited for those traveling by car or with a tour. But it wasn't really inconvenient, just another 400 or 500 meters up the hill. The included breakfast was really great. The staff members were very helpful. The public areas were 4 star. The room decor was a little dated but clean, except for the dead bug in the corner of the room that was there when we checked in and when we left 3 days later. We really were knocked out by the public areas; top notch.

Good location. Bus stop to meteora just in front the hotel. Bed is very comfortable. Is in the main road near to many shop and restaurants.

This is a nice hotel, with a great view of some Meteora monasteries (from one side of the building). The facilities are OK, the breakfast is OK, but it's a typical soulless hotel that caters mainly to groups.

Great location great hospitality, Lorna at the front desk was great! Tons of information, and tips, if it wasn’t for get her we would have missed the sunset atop the monastery! The hotel needs a total revamp in the room! Other than that great location

Nice hotel at common zones and at rooms too.
Nice staff. Reception open 24 hours.
Many restaurants (including cheap ones) / shops in the area.
Convenient for Meteora (20 min or less from all monasteries). Some rooms have Meteora views.

The hotel is beautiful hotel, especially for the price. I was surprised it has a rating in the 3 range. Kalambaka is a smaller town but great to stay in and Famissi is located right on the main street. The hotel is situated close to stores and restaurants and has a direct view of one of the monasteries. The hotel staff was super nice and were actually disappointed (in a caring way) that I had to check out early to head back to Athens.

Wifi was spotty and subject to outages due to excessive client capacity. Reserved a double bed plus a single for two adults and child, arrived to find 2 single beds and a cot crammed into small room. No fridge, tiny 80's tv with8 channels. Good water pressure but very dated bathroom.

I cannot believe the quality of this hotel. When looking at this hotel I was hesitant to book after reading the comments but decided to give it a go from the great price and pictures online... I am so glad I did! My family and I booked 2 rooms, they were clean and up to date. Our rooms also had a great view of the mountains, which was just breath taking. The beds (each room with 2 twins) were incredibly comfortable, it was difficult for me to get up in the morning for the free breakfast. We went during off season (month of November) and as it seems (because we didnt see/hear anyone else) we had the entire hotel to ourselves. Breakfast was great, you had all the basics, no complaints. The lobby was gorgeous- filled with chandeliers, beautiful well kept furniture and the fireplace brought an added warm touch. I definitely recommend this hotel to future guests and can assure you it is an amazing price for everything it offers.

For the price, Hotel lobby was great. Rooms were okay, but hot. Went to the desk the next morning and asked to change rooms as the air conditioner didnt seem to work. Lady had attitude from the beginning and said Oh, no. First we have to see if there is really a problem. She sent someone up, said it was because we opened the door to the balcony. I explained that I did not open the door until it was so hot that we needed relief. She again said there was nothing wrong with the air. My sister next door said her room was also hot. I called Hotels.com, they spoke to the desk also said lady would not listen to anything, and they would send me to a different hotel, but had to transfer me. New person came on, told her situation, she had to speak to the desk, said they put restrictions on the air at a moderate temperature. She did not move us to another property. The thermostat registered between 89 & 90 degrees F. We went out for the day, and that night, the room was cooler. Another complaint was the breakfast. The milk was lukewarm and had a bug in it. The hot water for the tea was also lukewarm. The whole breakfast was sparse and unappealing.

The staff were very helpful, but there is a limit to what they can do with a hotel that was badly built in the first place, and has now reached the end of its' shelf-life. The first room I was offered was next to the stone staircase and smelt badly. The next looked good, but turned out to be under the old-fashioned clanking boiler or some such. I was able to sleep between 1.30am and 4.30am only that night, and moved hotel in the morning despite having paid Expedia (non-refundable) for 3 nights in advance: otherwise I would have been dead by the end of the stay.
The upper floor is disintegrating. The Famissi Group own several hotels this end of Kalabaka, and the most sensible thing to do - given the Meteora monasteries are fabulous and unique and tourism is bound to increase - is to knock it down and build a good hotel. (The bathrooms are particularly awful). The reason it has survived so long is that it caters for tour groups which stay only one night so don't bother to complain (that's also the reason they don't cater for dinner for independent travellers - beware when it says it has a restaurant).

The hotel was large and comfortable. The dining area was good for a buffet breakfast lots of choice. The rooms were comfortable and clean. No fridge in room or bath plug to fill the bath up to soak feet after the walking up and down to Meteora.
Very central to all the restaurants and to get the bus back to trikala.
