Lovely place to stay - food excellent!

This is a nice Hotel.
The only downside was that my room was really hot.
Unfortunately the Breakfqst at £14.95 ways too expensive for my work budget.
The evening meal was nice but a bit on the high side price wise for what it was

Perfect. Lovely food and very comfortable large bed. Service also very good. One small minor negative was room was a bit warm - but there is a fan

We only stayed foŕ 2 nights but wished it was longer. So much character and history. Rooms were lovely and beds so comfy. Perfect location for exploring the area but also, after a full day it was so nice to come back, hang up the car keys and enjoy the many bars and eateries right on the doorstep. We ate in the hotel restaurant our first night which was great. Good menu choices. Every member of staff we encountered was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. We are already planning a return visit in warmer weather next year.

We stayed for one night and was not disappointed, the staff were friendly and polite. We have said we will come and stay again

The staff was extremely helpful. The room we had in a newer part of the building was very large and had a kitchenette. The room was very clean, the bed extremely comfortable. The pub had terrific food. I would highly recommend staying here.

Every aspect of our 7 day stay was the best experienced by my wife and I when compared to the many dozens of hotels and restaurants we have enjoyed. Highly recommend The Black Boy Inn!

Great hotel

Quiet hotel room. Friendly and helpful staff. Outside seating area.
No separate dining area. Not a complaint , I just prefer a quiet dining room.

Well appointed rooms, great shower, very clean and well cared for. Slightly noisy neighbours in adjacent room. Would be better if the external lighting could be dimmed

Nice room and friendly greeting. Was noisy until closing time in the inn but didn’t bother me

The location was great. The room was great. But the person that I spoke to on the phone prior to arrival was very rude. I ended up not being able to cancel my trip which I understand because it was non-cancel no cancel, but she was so rude about it that she wouldn’t even let me speak And that’s unacceptable. Also check out is at 11 and we went to get our bags at 10:59 and our keys didn’t work anymore. We travel all over the world that’s never happened before we had to go back down to the desk and get a new key overall it felt like they felt like we were taking advantage of them , so although it was a beautiful location and the room was very comfortable I would never go back because I don’t like being treated that way by anyone especially not a hotel.

Great location and our room no 21 was very well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious with a power shower and very clean. We had breakfast which was superb value for money and the service outstanding. This is a pub/hotel full of character. The staff here are friendly and accommodating. We will be back

The website is not transparent at all….we had to climb 40 stairs to our rooms, and on arrival we were told there was no parking, so we had to park 500 metres away. Really inconvenient. Our room was small and stuffy, with scaffolding directly outside our window. Noisy tradesman started working early in the morning. Would never stay here again, nor would I recommend it.

Everything was perfect, rooms beyond expectation, staff were great and really friendly, food was fabulous and huge portions, handy location, couldn't fault in any way 👍

So much history in this lovely hotel. Great location too. The staff was excellent. Special shout out to Alwan at reception and Dilman (I hope I remembered the name correctly) our waiter at breakfast. Only negative is because the hotel is so wonderfully historic, there is no lift and the stairs are difficult to navigate especially with bags. The beams in the first room we were given would have made the middle of the night bathroom run a bit of a challenge.

Very nice property. Using the shower is a challenge as it’s a risky situation and not for the aging.

Incredibly unique layout situated within the walls of a historic castle. The staff were extremely courteous and treated us like we were family. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Staff were amazing, room was beautiful and the food was out of this world. Would highly recommend staying here.

We loved our stay! The room was comfortable, and both meals we had in (dinner and breakfast) were very good. Live the history!

We stayed in the four poster room which was huge and a really stunning, comfortable room, it had everything we needed and the shower is amazing. The only downside was this room is located above the coach house, I had to call down the reception twice around 11:30pm as the music was booming through to the room I suspect due to it being an older building as it didn't seem overly loud inside the pub, but this was solved and turned off and they were very helpful on the phone. We also had a similar problem in the morning as everyone has their breakfast in the coach house so you can hear everything.

Lovely hotel, ideal location for Caernarfon for the castle or for climbing Snowdon

Cute little inn just inside the medieval wall of the city of Caernarfon. Great food and atmosphere. Fair warning, on-site parking is limited though there is off-site parking nearby. Highly recommend!

Met up with friends and walked a few of the local big walls including Snowdon. Great few days and the blaxk boy is sure a great resting spot. Great staff, great food and comfortable rooms

Loved the atmosphere in the 501 year old inn! Shower was awesome, bed was nice a comfy, and the meals very good. Really worth buying the breakfast option.

The hotel was within walking distance of several restaurants and shops. The parking was extremely accessible and the restaurant inside the hotel had a lot of really good food options.

I liked the fact that there was a heater that I could turn on whenever I liked and it wasn't just a room with a bed taking up most of the space; it was more like an apartment complete with coat hooks sitting area and 2 TVs, One for the bedroom and one for the sitting area. A very impressive- looking shower. I only have baths but it really looked the business. We didn't use the iron but it is a very considerate thing to have if your going to a party where appearances matter. The one and only problem we have was the beams. I booked this hotel on impulse without thinking it through as regards our height so the low beams were a bit of a problem. It was a problem especially for my husband. In truth, I would rather give the hotel 4.5 out of 5 cause everything else about it was luxury.

Fantastic! A comfortable clean room, and the food served in the restaurant was delicious. Very happy with my stay.

This is a lovely hotel but very overpriced for area. We were told by reception, when enquiring whether breakfast was included (i couldn't remember what was booked ). Her response was , 'it depends who you booked through'. She checked and when noting it was Hotels.com , asvised it wasn't! At £140 a night, out of season , you would expect breakfast. Also made a note of credit card number on booking stating 'becsuse you booked through 'expedia'' For £140 a night for an out of season stay in Caernarvon , would expect breakfast. Food was nice but again over priced and we told by various more frequent travellers there to go elsewhere.

We stayed for 2 nights and from check in to check out the staff were friendly and fantastic. The food was of good quality and quantity the selection of food was very good. The bedroom was lovely very big and very clean, there was a hostess tray which had a good selection of tea and coffee with biscuits too. The hotel is positioned in the an ideal location within the town and also to get to other attractions. I would definitely recommend The Black Boy Inn and will definitely be returning.
