Great experience, we love our 2 night stay.
4.7
Very expensive, not just the room the food, drinks, and services, way to expensive
4.7
Beautiful property located in a very special and unique part of the Sacred Valley. If you want the most luxurious stay in this area, this will be it. Service was great. Pre arrival communication was good but not great. I ran out of shampoo whilst taking a shower. Rooms didnt have AC or TV that I could tell. Pool couldve used some skimming of debris. Otherwise perfect stay. Make sure to feed the alpacas!!
You can catch the Hiram Bingham train to Machu Pichu literally right outside hotel entrance which is a unique feature and experience
4.7
Amazing property and the most friendly staff. The service was top notch. Everyone made sure we were taken care of at every point during our stay. I’m from the US and they met every standard. I can’t wait to come back and spend more time here!
4.7
Great quiet resort with well manicured property and beautiful views. Very friendly, professional staff with beautiful views.
Note that the activities offered (horseback, shaman) were very expensive even compared to other Belmond properties in Peru. We ended up finding off resort options because of it.

The staff was incredible and so friendly. Ana was our favorite server and would greet us every morning and help with making reservations for the picnic. Yolanda in the spa was so amazing I had to go back for a second visit.
The property was beautiful. We were here during a strike meaning that for two days we couldn't leave the hotel. Luckily the hotel, staff and food made those two days very relaxing. We are our way through the entire menu and there wasn't a bad choice at the restaurant.
We always felt safe despite the protesters and what we saw on the news in Cusco. They even accommodated us an additional night very easily when we couldn't get back to Cusco on the closed roads.
Gery and Diego are amazing at drinks and would make excellent recommendations while we sat by the river.
We spent 3 full days not leaving the resort since everything was cancelled, but there couldn't have been a better place to wait it all out. Thank you Rio Sagrado team!

Nice hotel, quite and relaxing place. Some things like the staff should improve.

What an incredible property! We hit a bit of a bump during our trip when upon arrival in Cusco, we learned that a strike blocked the only road into the Sacred Valley, preventing us from getting to the hotel. I called and spoke to Daniel who immediately helped us find the solution of staying at their partner hotel in Cusco for the night and coming up the next day at no additional cost. I had been worried because our booking was through a 3rd party, but both hotels were extremely accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of. When we did arrive, we could not have enjoyed our stay more. The grounds were beautiful - complete with llamas that you can feed! - the rooms were stellar and spacious, the restaurant was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. I would absolutely recommend Rio Sagrado as well as Belmond properties.

Beautiful

The people at this hotel are so kind and helped us navigate a million things. They helped coordinate tours, transportation and even our COVID tests to go home.
The one ding I would give it is that the room was so small and the quality of it did not seem 5 star. There was a really low level smoking smell that was always present despite being a nonsmoking room.
It’s a good spot - but not what I expect from 5 star.

Amazingly beautiful, amenity-rich, and superior service. The hotel’s mission/philosophy is to encourage guests to disconnect and they really deliver. Between the natural beauty of the mountains, river, landscaping in the backyard, pool/spa, delicious dining options, and even the baby alpacas that roam the grounds—it feels like you’ve been transported to a different reality, one of tranquility. THIS is how you vacation!
4.7
This hotel is excellent! The room was spacious and we had great view over the river. The stuff was very helpful and attentive, probably the best service I’ve had in a hotel. Highly recommended!
4.7
I loved the relaxed, spacious property. I cannot describe enough just how wonderful it was to wake up to the view. Everyone was very lovely.
My only complaint would be the quality of the food. I require a celiac diet, and many times the staff just didn't quite understand, and made errors. The Belmond also owns the Sacred Valley train (which I highly recommend), and they understood perfectly and were able to offer me alternatives. The staff at The Rio Sagrado need a bit more education. I don't blame them, just the training should be a bit better.

The staff in hotel was very friendly and very helpful
Thank you

Amazing property by the Urubamba river. Beautifully maintained and very relaxing. Staff was very kind and helpful, best service. I definitely recommend staying there.
4.7
The hotel is really beautiful with an espectacular river and valley view. The staff is very kind and helpful.
The cons: didn’t receive any VIP benefit, including the room upgrade, late check out and the 10% of the spa services that we used.
4.7
Gorgeous. The hotel is an amazing oasis and the perfect base for exploring the Sacred Valley. Baby alpacas roam the property and you can feed them at 8am and 4pm. Waking up, you can see the sunlight on the mountain right across the river and take a shower with a glass wall looking out over the landscape. The spa has indoor and outdoor jacuzzzis, but the pool might be too cold for extended swimming.

This hotel is amazing. The grounds are incredible and the staff is top notch. It’s a magical place and certainly will be one of our favorite resorts we have ever stayed.

Great location for nature lovers , wonderful architecture from natural materials with great amenities .

this was a great choice to stay at--we spent our arrival day night in Cusco, then rented car and drove to the Rio Sagrado and then we took the bingham train to MP from there, they stored our luggage and kept car--we did the Belmond bingham train ride to MP and had Bingham tour in afternoon of arrival day--they arranged for our night trip backpacks to go Sumaq hotel so we could take the afternoon Belmond guided tour of MP and next morning from sumaq we did the Aztec Trail to the Sun gate-then took the Peru Rail 304 train right back to the Belmond Rio Sagrado the next day at 3:30. I can not think of any better way to see MP--only difference I would do is stay two nights at Rio Sagrado so can do the Salt pond Maras tour and then go see the Moray Terraces, two very unique must see things-each about 3 hrs-was other things in immediate area as well

The grounds were beautiful, and each room has a spectacular view of the property, the river and the mountain behind it.

WOW! From the moment we stepped off of the train, we felt special. A hotel employee was waiting to take our bags and help us off of the train. He drove us to the check in desk, where we were greeted with warm towels to wash our hands and a wonderful mint tea. We were escorted to our room in a golf cart and were amazed by the beauty of the property as we were riding. We were thrilled when we walked in to the room to see rose petals laid out on the bed in the shape of a heart. There was a wonderful note from the manager congratulating us on our marriage, and chocolates laid out next to the note. Shortly after we got to the room two employees came by to make sure that everything in the room was suitable. They dropped off extra bottles of water and gave us a note to invite us to relax by the river the next day to watch some of the local wildlife.
That night we visited the restaurant and had a wonderful meal, then took advantage of the steam room and the beautiful indoor/outdoor hot tubs. The next day we enjoyed the wonderful breakfast, fed the baby llamas, and relaxed at the property. My wife booked a massage, which she thoroughly enjoyed. We spent the rest of the day at the pool, on our gorgeous terrace, and relaxing by the river to watch the ducks! I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed staying at this property and the beautiful flowers and plants that attract various birds and wildlife. We absolutely loved our stay at the Belmond Rio Sagrado!

Tranquil and well kept grounds. For those interested in the luxury train to Machu Picchu, the hotel is the starting point of that trek. Nice appointments in the room with plush towels and robes. Sitting areas around the grounds for quiet time. There is one restaurant on the grounds and one must travel about 15-20 mins into town for anything else. The food was carefully prepared for esthetic and taste balance. The service was excellent.

Wow! We thought that you couldn't get better than the Tambo del Inca. The Rio Sagrado is in a spectacular location with only 25 lovely rooms with great views. My wife and I spent a full "down day" and two nights after our trip to Machu Picchu. The property is wonderful, very intimate and quiet, with spectacular views of the river and the mountains. We both got excellent massages and facials at the spa. The restaurant is also very good - the Peruvian chicken is amazing. The real treat is the service - could not be better, more accommodating. Also - ask when the feeding time is for the baby alpacas - photo opp time! Recommend this hotel most highly!

We were upgraded to a 3br villa, which was amazing! And the spa was complementary.

Very nice location next to the Rio Urbama River in the heart of the Sacred Valley.
Expensive compared to other places in Peru but well worth it.
4.7
Friendly service, amazing vista with views an amazing river system. Had altitude sickness and had first hand experience of being cared for by staff in a professional manner, yes the altitude sickness abated.
The grounds have flora and fauna, baby alpaca an amazing experience.
4.7
Nice location, however the staff does not know what they are doing ! The entire staff has to be extensively trained.

This was our fancy night on our backpacking honeymoon and it did not disappoint. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We arrived on the evening Vistadome train and they stopped the train for us to get off at the Hotel. we were greeted with a smile and transported to reception in a golf cart. The room was incredible, complete with humming birds in the garden in the morning. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, with a choice of hot cooked breakfast and a buffet. The one dinner we had at the hotel was awesome, it was tasty and a fair price.
We had the spa pool area included in our booking which was a welcome relief for sore legs. The ladies there were attentive and offered us drinks and fresh fruit was we relaxed in the water.
This place with worth the extra cash for a few nights of relaxing in luxury. I am glad we booked here and not the Sanctuary Lodge, which is really a giant bus park overrun with tourists. The Rio Sagrado is by far the superior option for your Machu Picchu adventure.
