Sorry to say a very negative experience at Hotel Santa Lucia Le Sabbie d'Oro. Unfortunately, the hotel did not meet our 4 star expectations. The hotel lacks a modern ambiance, and the staff was not friendly or service-minded. Additionally, the rooms experienced issues with plumbing, which is definitely disappointing.
Even after requesting a room change, the second room had a distinct tobacco smell, which is unpleasant for non-smokers. Furthermore, our first night was disrupted by noise from neighboring rooms, which is unacceptable for a peaceful stay. It is regrettable that the hotel did not offer any compensation for these inconveniences.
Regarding the location, having a train passing outside your window makes it far from a quiet and serene environment. If you are seeking a 4-star experience, I would not recommend this hotel.

Very disappointed with the hotel. On arrival looked very modern. Inside very old and worn and brown. Reception not very welcoming, room very old fashioned but very clean. A long way from the town and to walk along by the sea 102 steps to negotiate, walk of approximately 2 miles.
Bad experience as our son wanted to send up a bottle of bubbly for our Anniversary but was told no one of our name was staying there. We brought this up with the manager and he was most apologetic and offered us a free meal as compensation. Breakfast very boring the same every day and staff were moving tables for the next meal whilst we were still eating.
Overall very disappointing stay

We stayed four nights - two of the nights the hotel hosted big parties on the lawn below our room. One night was a bit noisy while the other (seemed like a 18 year birthday) had a DJ that was extremely noisy from 9 - midnight.
If you want to be a family hotel - that is just not the way to go....

We stayed here for 1 night, as we attended a wedding, which was lovely. Our room had a fantastic view of Cefalu and the sea but the
accommodtion and hallway is looking little tired and could do with updating. On the plus side, the pool is a good size and bar area is very modern, with friendly and helpful staff, even with our very limited Italian. Our favourite spot overall though, was the quiet beach in front of the hotel, with beautifully cleàr wàter (few rocks and stones) which is another plus, as it is far busier further towards the town. Overall, it is great spot.

Pool was green! Quadruple room was actually a single room with four beds. Moved out within two hours and found a better hotel. I want a refund..

Decent hotel, friendly staff very helpful. No beach, beach erroded, but nice pool. Carpets extremely dirty and old, room Furniture sparse as from the 1950s, in dire need of renovation. Good breakfast with a lot of variety.

The hotel that is being advertised is not complete they are using the old hotel that is a dirty smelly smoke infested . Also the amount of black mold is too much to describe . The management would not even come out to talk to us . We had no Choise but to find another hotel. Expedia needs to ck out their hotels better also I have spent over $200 in phone calls to expedia to get another hotel and its been a nightmare especially when I have my family in another country .not happy at all with all of this.

This hotel had, by far, the largest room, best views, and best breakfasts of our entire trip through Italy and Venice. The pool is fabulous. My only complaint is that its quite noisy for sleeping. There is an outdoor disco, there was also a wedding reception held there while we were there (with competing music), and our room on the top floor was constantly disturbed by noise from the rooftop deck.

OK hotel, though probably the worst we staid in on our trip. Didnt start too well as the receptionist had our booking but couldnt confirm that we had already paid (which we had). So, I had to walk through to the other side of the building to pick up the wifi and email him my booking confirmation - 10 mins of messing around as the wifi signal wasnt good. FYI - Wifi only available in the cafe and TV room next door - nowhere else unfortunately. Room was small but clean and had a sea view which was lovely. Also overlooked what turned out to be the dancefloor, so we were kept awake until midnight by the music (it was our first night so we were pretty tired - normally we would probably have been out!) Breakfast was OK and we could sit out by the pool. We did try to go down to the pool in the afternoon, but not having placed our towel out early we missed out on sunloungers - a shame as at least 50% of them were empty! We had lunch from the little cafe which was lovely though gets very busy. You have to try the Gelato - delicious!! Walk into town is a good 15 mins but its a lovely walk along the seafront.

This hotel is in need of refurbishment throughout the rooms and guest areas. The restaurant/dining area has been done and is terrific as is the new air conditioning in the rooms. However, decor in rooms and corridors looks tired and is in minor disrepair. The bathrooms are also in need of new facilities and tiling, despite the best efforts of staff to keep them clean. The Blue Bar and pool are generally ok but also need refurbishment.

This is a hotel of two halves. Easy to park but not clear where reception was as there are three buildings. Reception was dark and gloomy (luckily staff were not, lovely guy checked us in) as was the rest of this building which our room was in (516) halls and rooms very dated but clean. Fantastic view from room over sea and cefalu to the side.
Walk through the atrium I the pool and breakfast room and you were in a different hotel! Pool was immaculate and breakfast/ dinner hall was ultra modern and clean!
Train line runs beside the sea shore and therefore next to the hotel ( as it does inmost of sicily we found!) but not a problem to us. cefalu about a 25 minute walk along promenade.

Souless cold large hotel with absolutely no ambiance or courtesy from staff. Breakfast was the usual unimaginative and badly presented Italian style buffet with plastic cups and long queue for coffee machines. Downstairs bar within the hotel was closed for renovations and the only other bar was adjoining the hotel which was open to the general public as well as hotel guests. Once again, queues for drinks/snacks and another queue for paying. No table service, all self service. Wi fi seemed only to be available in a dark and dinghy adjoining bar area. Check out time was 10.30 am and when I asked at reception if there was any way that I could extend this time as my flight was not until 9 pm, I was asked to pay a further €50. Excessive ! as I had already paid €73 for the room for one night single occupancy, definitely not worth the money.
Swimming pool area and common parts scruffy and dirty, uncomfortable sun beds.
Do yourself a favour, don't stay there, you deserve better!

First room we were offered was poor, small, no balcony but we asked for another room and were moved the next day to a larger room with balcony no problem. Breakfast was ok and area pleasant. Pool area good. Our favourite part was the hotel bar/ excellent patisserie which faced the road. Very reasonable with good snacks and lots of atmosphere. The downside was the long although pleasant walk to Cefalu. Ok now and again but too much everyday. Also 102 steps down to beach/walk. Only one bus per hour and timing a bit unreliable. Free sun beds on hotel's attractive beach.

Great view of beach and city against La Rocca. Pool and breakfast were great for family. They even returned my lost tablet that I lost. Lots of tour bus hotel guests stay at this hotel in the summer.

We stayed in the first week of July. Temperature quite hot 33 Degrees. Aircon in room was a necessity despite being a little noisey. Staff were very friendly. We only ate breakfast in the hotel - this was fine. Rooms were cleaned daily. All entertainment ended at 12:30 which make it very family friendly. A little competition for the poolside sunbeds. This may become a problem as occupancy increases later in the season. The hotel is located some distance from the town centre, however the walk along the sea road is lovely. I would definitely return.

The hotel is not well maintained, noisy and crowded. Staff is not professional (didn't know the internt code for example). But they tried to help. Breakfast was poor. It seems that the hotel is part of a bigger complex of appartments so the dining room is huge and not clean. At night the music from the bar downstairs was laude and lasted until midnight. Overall it was a bad experience for us.
