Casa San Marcos hotel was amazing! Such beatiful building ( was build in 1702) with all its antiques, arts all over and modern amenities for very special and unique stay.
We felt we were staying in a castle two centuries ago though with all the modern day comfort and luxury.
4.6
Well maintenance and converted property. The only issues were the absence of room service and bathroom (could be a little clean/or modernized).

What a wonderful hotel this is. Full of fabulous artefacts, and antiques. The room was spacious, very clean and just relaxing. The staff were always helpful. A great breakfast, great view from the room, and exactly the type of place I love to stay at.

We loved our stay at Casa San Marcos! The hotel is a gem, historical, and interesting as a building, spotless and clean with a lovely breakfast room. The service was wonderful. The hotel is very safe and secure and you can easily walk around the Old Town from here. At night, there are several restaurants within a block so you can go back and forth safely. We loved looking at the statue from our window. If good luck brings us back to Quito, we will stay here again.

Absolutely stunning property filled to the brim with gorgeous curated antiques unlike any place I’ve stayed before, with a sense of interior design that surpasses many of the world’s best hotels. Add to that a wonderful staff and beautiful views. Just a five-minute walk from the square but so remarkably quiet setting. Truly an unparalleled experience!

We loved the historic aspect of this boutique hotel, the art, the owner—who took time to unexpectedly walk around Old Town with us, the helpful staff and the nice breakfast. Cozy place, comfortable public areas. Beautiful antiques. Very welcoming.

It was great experiece to stay in a boutique hotel with only 10 rooms whic was very well maintained. We stayed in Galeria Mirador room and loved the view of Panecelio. It had beautiful antique furniture and paintings, felt like we were transpoted to 300 yrs back in time. The owner was very courteous and took us on a tour of the history of this place. The service, David was great. The breakfast was home cooked and was awesome. Its located close to the city centre and very convienient. Our stay was an amazing experience.....

The service was just wonderful. The property is very well located close to the Quito Historic Center. Everything is walking distance. We are a family with two kids and could not have picked a better place to explore Quito. Thank you!

I planned a 2 night stay at Casa San Marcos in Quito on the 11th and 12th of June 2021. We had 2 rooms as I stayed with some friends. Our stay was uncomfortable and I would not recommend this hotel for any future business. We showed up, dropped off our luggage and went to dinner. For perspective, I travel to other countries several times a year and understand the importance of comfort and customer service.
Dangerous conditions and extremely sensitive antiques:
The hotel is littered with seemingly expensive pieces of furniture, paintings, and other antiques. We stayed in rooms 1 and 3. Room 1 had a very heavy room divider and there was only a short distance between it and the bed for access to the room. This piece was not placed in a safe location and after it was inadvertently touched, it fell and could have injured me or any tenant severely.. The hotel was adamant we need to pay $80 cash for this piece, but was unable to place it on a credit card or deliver an invoice. Reportedly this several hundred pound piece of furniture is worth $3000 and the damage we caused was a reported $80, but after discussion, Paulina was able to lower this to $40. This inconsistency and her aggressive style started the discomfort that followed.
Accountability and hotel leadership, doesn't exist. We left the hotel in the middle of the night, scared what could follow up after a spending a night here and the charges , they can come up with. So please choose a different hotel.

What a wonderfully quaint hotel this was! Antiques at every turn and the service was exceptional. The rooms where large and it felt like a step back in time. I highly recommend this place. Perfectly located within minutes of walking toward downtown.

Staff very pleasant

This hotel is steeped in history and charm. Quiet and comfortable.

This hotel is a treasure! It is a converted private home with spacious rooms and common area. The hotel is decorated with colonial antiques, religious paintings, and decorative doors. Each room is unique and I had to take a video to capture the full beauty of my room. Ideally located in Old Town on a quiet street and the staff are extremely helpful.

This was one of the loveliest hotels that we have ever stayed. It is exquisite in its art covering every wall, nook and cranny. The employees are so proactively helpful and the cooked to order breakfast was wonderfully served in a vine covered outdoor space.

Staff was more than accommodating, they arranged excellent tour guides and made sure our expectations when picked up by taxis was explained. Breakfast was very good. Nice quiet hotel and felt very safe.

The rooms were clean, nicely furnished, and the historical ambience was great. The staff made the whole experrienc
e excellent. From the kitchen staff who served a deo89c89us breakfast every j9rhi8hgk and took the time to talk to us about their city and its delights, to the desk staff who also arranged transportation for us with knowledgeable guides and drivers. We met the manager several times and she was a delightful person.

What a beautiful property! The staff were excellent, the food was delicious and the beds were incredibly comfy. Located in a very good location as well which made our stay even more memorable! Overall, it was a great stay!

Lovely hotel and location. Staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Great breakfast. Only problem was sound-doorbell rang at 7am each of 5 mornings of our stay. Sound insulation was poor as well. Could hear talking, laughing, walking overhead at all hours.

Lovely old colonial casa with individually decorated rooms in period style. Bed very comfortable. Staff very accommodating as I had mild altitude sickness and they provided late check out and coca tea. Breakfast (included) was ample and delicious.

Big rooms with all comfort in a large colonial house, with antique furniture and many artwork in the rooms

Loved this hotel. It is beautiful inside and have so much history and antique decoration and furnitures in the hotel. The staff are friendly and tentative. So close to the old town as well. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as the Casa San Marcos. The staff was friendly, helpful, courteous and very responsive to our needs/requests, including going out of their way to arrange a visit to Otavalo for us. The hotel is a very unique charm and character and it felt we were a part of a historic 200 year home. The property is undergoing renovation so some improvements are be made. Located in Old Town Quito. Great choice to stay.

What a fantastic and unique hotel in the historical area. The concierge Stephanie explained the history of this 300yo hotel as she gave us a guided tour and we were fascinated by the art collection and curios on display. All of the staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. They also gave us excellent recommendations - which sites to visit (even giving us a map and lending us an umbrella), a great bar/restaurant to try - Santa Rosa Cerveza Artesanal (a spot on recommendation it felt just like home & they had great beer & food, thank you Ive forgotten the gentlemans name sorry) and which beer to try in the hotel bar. There were great views of the Virgen de Quito from both the hotel bar and our room, El Altillo. The only downside was unfortunately the raked ceiling in our room was too low for my 183cm partner and there was a slight privacy issue with this room for us to feel completely comfortable. Otherwise, everything was fantastic and we would highly recommend Casa San Marcos to everyone.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and totally enjoyed the experience, The hotel was quite comfortable, centrally located but just outside the noise and commotion of the Old Town. It possessed an abundance of Quito charm filled with stellar art and antiques. The staff was extremely helpfully in suggestions on how to get the most out of our time in Quito. The breakfasts were fresh, well prepared and covered all the basics. Great place to stay!

This small (6 rm) hotel is part of a grand house, furnished with art and antiques. It was a beautiful space to visit and enjoy. Breakfast was served on a garden patio, a beautiful, light filled and relaxing place! Food was far better than average, with eggs made to order and great coffee, espresso, or cappuccino to boot. Service was generally attentive, by an earnest group of young people who spoke English fairly well and strived to make our stay enjoyable. Unfortunately, we were on the Junin side of the street, opposite a fairly noisy school, and within earshot of some major road construction. For early risers, this is probably not an issue. I would stay here again if I could get a room on the opposite side of the Casa. As our flight departed just after midnight, I appreciated being able to get another half day at a reasonable rate. The hotel is near Plaza Grand, so we could easily walk to some great restaurants and historic sites.

We had a great experience at historic Casa San Marcos. The staff took care of us as if we were family. Loved its look of "old Spain," with antiques and original artwork everywhere. Located in the historic district, an easy walk from city squares, churches, shops and restaurants. Casa San Marcos employs a great cook-- we looked forward to a wonderful breakfast every day and ate two great dinners there. They assisted us with arranging excursions, transfers, anything we needed. We Received a great value for our money.
