Location is good. Walkable to centre and free car park next to hotel. Safe, quiet area.
We've stayed at this hotel 7 times since 2015 and were pretty disappointed with our stay. We rely heavily on the kitchenette and discovered they no longer provide a filter coffee machine. Apparently as too many are stolen. It would have been a comptomise to have them available for those willing to pay a deposit. Our friend had a very poor selection of crockery/cutlery in his room, with stuff missing. No reusable teatowel was provided as previous years, just a very small, thin disposable cloth. Not very sustainable.
My husband and friend checked in and were not informed by the personnel that there would be no water in the whole hotel from 9am the next morning - they read it in the lift. As i had spent 12 hours travelling and arrived very late, I was looking forward to a much needed lie in, but had to get up in time for a shower before the water went off. Would have been courteous to inform guests in advance by email (and absolutely at check in).
Overall, the rooms are looking tired and a bit shabby. Our sink plug mechanism was broken, the shutter handle was missing a part.
Given our previous positive experiences we found this stay unexpectedly disappointing.

No airconditioning and the window was very dificult to open

Great location near water. Parking close by in secure lot.

We stayed as a stopover before travelling back to the U.K. we were two adults and two kids and we had adjoining family rooms.
Beds were very comfortable which was welcome after spending two weeks in a caravan bed.
The teens enjoyed their own room and bathroom and tv. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful to us.
We loved the bar where we sat and played games they have available with the kids. Dingo Disco was our favourite.
The hotel is very family friendly and beautiful views over the harbour to watch boats and seagulls.
There is a very nice Belgian beer garden near by in walking distance and a very good pizzeria which the hotel staff recommended.

The block we stayed in desperately needed renovation. The room smelt awful and was in a very poor state of repair. Mould around the bath and the toilet seat was stained. The bed was very uncomfortable. I’m so glad we only stayed one night!!

This hotel is wonderful. It's fairly close to the city center (about a 5-10 minute walk) and somewhat close to the beach (about a 20 minute walk). My room was spacious and clean and the wifi is super fast. I think most rooms have a view of the industrial harbor. It's nice to have a water view, although I wouldn't exactly call it picturesque. They allow pets, which is always a bonus. There is also a laundry room (you buy tokens at the reception desk). I look forward to staying here again.

The room was clean and there was a fridge and microwave.
The bed was extremely hard. The fridge was very noisy so we did not sleep well.
We could walk to the beach and the area felt safe. There was a big free car park near to the hotel.

Beautiful vieuw, near city center

It was wonderfully placed and was clean.
Let down by no kettle or coffee making facilities.

Catfished hotel, doesn’t look like the photos.

A perfect stay, as usual. Great location and parking, at the right price. A lovely setting on the harbour, not for from bars and restaurants ora walk into the nearby town. The kitchenette is handy for preparing your own meals.

Very handy, and walkable to where we wanted to be. Street is a bit busy at times due to the university but we were still able to find free parking within a short distance. Some nice restaurants just a short distance away that the staff directed us to.

The listing here doesn't mention that these are essentially student dorms. Nothing wrong with that at all and these are really well priced and quite nice dorms at that. Given these house students, you can see some hard miles on the property but maintenance is kept up. It's a very good budget stay and reasonably close to some restaurants and shopping. It's not terribly close to the main beach (~8 minutes by bike, ~25-30 minutes walk).
I wouldn't rule it out for future stays.

Amazing place, amazing breakfast.

Great value! Mini kitchen with fridge, microwave and sink in room is amazing! Bathroom big. Bed however was a bit hard and uncomfortable, like the hotel première class beds (costing the half the price per night). Uograde the mattresses and it's 5* for me.

Good for a night away

Great place to stay, room was a good size and comfortable. A wide range of food for breakfast. The only downside was the fridge was rather noisy, but would stay again, good value for money.

Staff were extremely helpful and very polite, we thank you for your kindness! Highly recommend

Street parking is dangerous, a lot of young kids on scooters checking out the car!

Great location for the town
Room clean and good beds
4.1
Excellent value for the money. Rooms are somewhat small but not a major issue. If you have mobility issues, ask for a room with a shower because the tub is quite high for older people to get in and out as there are no grab bars. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful employees.

The hotel was nice, room was a good size but very hot. Breakfast was decent.
4.1
Excellent location, staff were extremely helpful. While we did not dine on site, my travel group did have a few drinks in the bar. Easy to find parking in the area, and neighborhood felt safe.

Parking was a nightmare until we got told about the underground car park which required extra payment
4.1
Building was a little bit old and tired, but very clean and tidy. Good value for money

We came to the hotel as a stop over in our journey. Hotel is very nice, very secure. Rooms are very spacious and you have everything you need to prepare quick meals and breakfast.
However when it came to sleeping despite the big and very comfy looking bed, you hit a disappointment. When you lied on bed it actually felt that the floor would me more comfy. The bed was extremely hard, firm that me and my partner managed to sleep on hour on it. A huge disappointment in this sense.
I know some people like extremely firm beds but we defo aren't one of those.
I do need to say for how many hotels I've stayed in I've never felt this way.
Appart of that hotel was fab.

Reception staff were very friendly and helpful
4.1
Room was very cramped/congested. Lobby is as untidy.
4.1
Check-in quick and easy. The gentleman that checked me in was understanding and answered all my questions. The parking garage was under the hotel and definitely worth the £5, the cheapest we paid during our Europe trip. The rooms were well equipped and clean. They do look tired and could use a refresh. Overall, would stay here again for the price.
4.1
Nothing was unique.
4.1
Great place to stay to explore Dunkirk, out if the centre but we prefer that as its quieter. 15 mins walk to beach, 1940 museum and restaurants 1 hour 20 mins to Dunes museum, battery and bunkers.
4.1
The bed was essentially a futon. Hard and lumpy
4.1
For the price it isn’t bad I suppose. Basic apartment with all you need. The bed and decor are not the best though.
Quite a bit of noise throughout the night making it hard to get some sleep.
But you get what you pay for hey!!
4.1
Pleasant staff and nice clean room. Only gripe was a hard bed, but happy to stay there again.
4.1
Really nice property that was perfect for us to look around Dunkirk day before we sailed.
4.1
Basic but clean safe and quiet. Easy walk into town with lots of restaurants to choose from.
4.1
Our code didnt work so we were on the phone to customer service for 45 mins trying to get into our apartment. There wasnt a reception so things cant be worked out efficiently. We were then given a different apartment where someone was already in it! Finally managed to get into a third apartment. This one had a broken bed so we had to sleep in the smaller bedroom. Luckily there was only 3 of us! There wasnt any hand soap in the bathrooms so we had to use washing up liquid from the kitchen. All pretty poor for the price we paid.
4.1
Poor check in process, unfriendly staff member. Appartments very small and photographs are deceptive and give a false impression.
4.1
Very convenient for ferry terminal.
