Stayed in room 24 which faces the afternoon sun. It's already autumn but the room got so hot in the afternoon that we had to open the window to let in the cool autumm air. Unfortunately, the houseflies flew in too! We spent the next 2 days getting rid of the houseflies. I think we killed at least 6 of them. Cannot imagine what it's like to be staying in that room in summer.
On the other hand, breakfast was good - their alfajores were fantastic. Location - on San Martin avenue and close to the start of the main hikes such as laguna del tres, laguna capri and chorillo de salto. There are 2 cosy sitting areas in the lobby (good to hang out in to get away from the hot room). Complimentary coffee and lemon infused water was a nice touch too.

Bed was very comfortable and the staff very nice and helpful. The only small complaints are maybe shower walls could be cleaner and WiFi is not strong in the rooms.
4.0
Quiet neighborhood and close to the gate to Fitz Roy. Big shelves are convenient. Hotel staff are kind and helpful.

Extremely clean and cute hotel. Check out is rather early in most hotels in Patagonia at 10 am but they allowed us to rest in their very comfy lobby for some time.

I had an amazing stay at Poincenot! All the hosts were incredibly welcoming and the accommodation exceeded expectations. The location was convenient, with easy access to “El Sendero al Fitz Roy”. Also, the cleanliness was top-notch, the breakfast and the amenities provided added extra comfort. I highly recommend it.
I will never forget that one of the girls from the front desk (I’m sorry I don’t recall your name) lent me a pair of trekking poles. I wouldn’t have made it without them.

The property was nice, clean, and an easy walk to the hiking trails.

After staying at the hotel for three nights with six people in three rooms, I would like to confidently give Hotel Poincenot a five-star rating. In terms of service, they were the best among the six hotels we stayed at during our 18-day trip. During check-in, Milena patiently explained all the relevant details, and she especially helped us handle a small medical incident calmly and professionally. During check-out, Rocio made a great effort to find a taxi for us, as the village is so small that available taxi drivers were rare.
Breakfast starts at 7 am. When we informed them of our early departure times at 5:30 am for hiking and at 4:30 am for a sunrise expedition on another day, they asked about our preferences. We mentioned that some hot drinks would be appreciated. Surprisingly, they prepared hot coffee, hot water, and a variety of foods and fruits!
The hotel is relatively new, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained. It features expansive public areas, perfect for socializing with friends or other guests, particularly when outdoor activities are limited due to the frequent weather conditions in the area. The beds are comfortable, and the Twin bed size is suitable for individuals with a small or medium body size.

Fabulous location in the heart of town. Super clean and friendly staff. Very helpful.

Very impressed! Newer, nice property and rooms. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and some spoke English. The breakfast had good variety and was delicious. The bed was comfortable, bathroom nice with good pressure & temperature. The wifi was good, & they even offered luggage storage so we could continue to explore the area without all our stuff, post-checkout. Close to shops & lots of restaurants, close to trails as well. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Newer hotel close to trails- bfast a bit scant but ok- horrible wind noise kept us up and hotel did not seem well made to combat noise- otherwise not a bad stay

Staff, breakfast, rooms. All fantastic. Great location.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel
is very very simple. There is not much by way of amenities, but I would definitely stay there again.

The property was modern, stylist and well appointed, very comfortable. Staff was very helpful with directions, taxis, confirming our excursions, restaurant and trail suggestions. Would definitely return.

The front desk staffs are very friendly! We ordered dinner after a long day hiking, they provided us forks and hot water.

Lovely modern styling, excellent breakfast and situated a very short walk from the start of the Fitzroy trail. Good food and drink options on the doorstep.

Hotel located at the end of the main street, avoiding noise from restaurants and bars. Service was not great, waited more than 15 minutes for check in, without apology from staff
2.5
Great little hotel, in great little town. Hotel reception could not have been more helpful. Great advice on walks, treks, buses, shops and even the weather update! Had asked for quiet room and had top floor room 34 facing onto hills. Room comfortable and warm, bed good too, which is needed after 10hour trek. Highly recommend hotel for location, comfort & hospitality. A little pricey but looks like best hotel in El Cheltin

Our room was completely infested with bedbugs - once we were bitten we turned over the mattress and it was swarming with bugs.

We have been upgraded and sent to a same group hotel nearby “Destino Sur” which was excellent

The hotel seems to be one of the nicer ones on the Main Street. It’s conveniently located near the beginning of the hiking entrance to fitz Roy and close to many restaurants. Our top floor room had a vaulted ceiling and we experienced a cool breeze that would sneak in during the wind gusts and a lot of noise as well. At night it wasn’t a problem to sleep because the wind died down. Would stay again.

This hotel is very conviniently located near the tracks! Breakfast is good and overall very clean
1.5
Loved this place. Easy to walk to trails for hiking, excellent breakfast. Rooms were kept too warm but we turned off the heaters and opened the windows and it was fine. Would love to stay there again.
1.5
Clean hotel. Friendly staff. Could have had better recommendations on treks or arrangements. Nice stay.
2.5
The hotel is right off the main street of town, very close to wonderful restaurants and views of the surrounding mountains. The staff was always very nice and helpful, offering maps of the area and recommendations. The room was great and very cozy; the bottom floor rooms are very warm but the heat was turned down as soon as we asked. We had no issues with noise throughout the night; overall no complaints. I would definitely stay here again!
1.3
Wonderful hotel with even lovelier staff. The rooms were very cozy and comfortable.

The people at the hotel are fantastic and very friendly. They made our trip a blast and helped in every possible way to have the best use of our time. They called local agencies to organize transportation and went extra mile when busses were overbooked.
2.5
Poincenot is located close to restaurants and shopping, but more importantly several trail heads. We were able to walk to more than 7 trails.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. They can book reliable transportation to activities if you desire.
Only issue we had was the room was very hot. We asked to have the heat turned off and it was done immediately.
2.5
The hotel was the perfect location - on the main drag, only steps away from the Laguna de los Tres trailhead. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms and bathrooms were a good size (plenty of closet space for laying out your gear). The pillows were not the most comfortable but all in all it was a great stay!

Nice hotel and location etc.. However, almost non existing Internet connection.
2.5
A great little inn style hotel in El Chalten. This place definitely has a feeling of an inn, although it is not.
The location is very conveniently located next to the trails for Fitz Roy, and near the town center (5 mins walk which is nothing considering people go to El Chalten to hike for hours)
Check in was instantaneous, after saying my name, I was given a key and shown to my room, no passports, no credit cards, nothing, felt right at home. The staff is very friendly and willing to help.
The room itself is very clean and well kept, with relatively modern styling.
There is Wi-Fi in the hotel which is actually very reliable considering that all communications with El Chalten are through Satellite and therefore unreliable.
Breakfast is continental style and quite fresh.
2.0
The hotel has an open, spacious design and our room was entirely satisfactory. The hotel is located a couple of hundred yards away from the town centre (which was fine by us), but conveniently situated for the start of the walks that we undertook. Our couple of days in El Chalten was a highlight of our 3-week visit to Argentina, and the hotel made a significant contribution to our enjoyment of those days.
