A lot of wonderful things about this hotel. the surrounding natural beauty and the very beautiful dining room and common rooms with stunning views. The wooden deck surrounding the hotel and outside the spa area is somewhat degraded and even rotten in some places by the hot tub. The breakfast is very nice. We only ate dinner there one night but would not recommend. the food was not great and the fish was really not good. An oddity that there was absolutely no information about hikes or things to do nearby. Of course we had the internet but desk staff seemed befuddled by the request for suggestions. Trails behind the hotel can take you down to the water but are poorly marked and there is no map. (bosque and mar arrows are also backwards) Our room had a small balcony to enjoy the view, but oddly no chairs. Bed was comfortable and cozy. Bathroom very spare. Shower was a plastic walk in like in a camper. no shelf or any place to put soap. Bottom line is that the natural beauty is amazing and the common rooms are extraordinary. It's kind of hard to understand though how every review can be 10 out of 10.

The hotel is in an idyllic location surrounded by beauty and nature, the service was superb, with friendly staff, the food and the wine exquisite. The building was lovely.

An amazing, beautiful location. My only regret is that we only stayed one night. The staff was outstanding.

We stayed at the resort just as the COVID-19 pandemic was occurring. We found the hotel to be an oasis of peace and serenity. Just what we needed when the rest of the world was so crazy.
We liked the remote location and calm vibe of the hotel and spa.

Hotel is set up above the tree tops across from Castro. It takes about 15-20 minutes depending upon traffic in town. Road to the hotel for about 2 km is a one lane gravel road that has some fast twists and turns. Nothing your car can't handle, but good to know about ahead of time. They have a really nice breakfast in the mornings and I would absolutely recommend the hotel for dinner as well. While dinner is not included, food was delicious and after a long day you probably do not want to venture out to dinner and come back on the narrow roads.

12/29/17 What a wonderful place to relax, truly relax, in a gorgeous, private setting...a lovely walk through beautiful farm/grazing land takes you down to the shore or up to a tiny town or into a lush forest. Dinner here is pricey, but how could you get a better, more dramatic, every-shade-of-green below you view?? The staff is professional as well as relaxed and friendly. The modern innovations of the architecture make you feel you're in a wide treehouse with splendid views all around you. Interesting guests come and go within the quiet. I dream of the green...
