Upside: Overall good hotel and restaurants. The Asian restaurant and Carnival buffet was very good. The 3rd floor lobby bar and hang out area was very nice.
Down sides: room service, pool food and drinks were mediocre. At check in they try to rope you into a time share so BEWARE. Very pushy and not ok as we paid over $650 a night and didn’t want to get hustled upon arrival. Also the pool area felt like a cruise ship. Can’t sit on the beach front chairs as vendors harrass constantly. Looked like majority of people were over 50 or had small children. DJ was way too loud and most of the music genre not appropriate for the overall age of guests. They did change genres part of the day but hard relax with the music blaring.
Room was nice and clean but the smell of the cleaning solution was overwhelming. Had to leave the slider open all night to keep the smell down and keep fresh air circulating.

Staff was amazing. Friendly, accommodating and helpful. Spacious rooms and property with many food and entertainment comforts to offer.

Everything was great! The only thing I’m very disappointed is the amount of pressure they use to buy their membership. They take a lot of your free time and they are very pushy and keep offering after mentioning not interested.

We went with a large group (20 adults 22 kids). Small to medium size resort. Which worked for us with kids due to a lot of walking from one place to another. Most of us stayed at the Preferred Club, which is a separate building but right next to the main buffet, pool and beach.
Advantages of Preferred club is that each room comes with a personal assistant, who you can text and request anything. Has access to somewhat premium drinks on the 2nd floor. Has small lounge area with food items 24hrs, next to the concierge on the ground floor. Overall its great.
Food: pretty decent. They try to add variety daily for lunch and dinner. Seevice is pretty good but can be a bit of delay based on how busy it is. But they try their best. Restaurants are good, different items compared to buffett. Must try the seafood restaurant next to the pool, they got fresh catch (red snapper) fried and pork belly tacos are amazing. But everything on the menu was good. Snack bar by the pool has amazing fried fish tacos, plus chicken fingers, hotdogs, burgers, fries, nachos.
Pools: well maintained, the waiters are pretty quick with the drinks. Some mixed drinks could be a bit too sweet. But overall good.
Beach: okay, nothing compared to Cancun beaches. Although no seaweeds, but tons of rocks which made it difficult for kids and elderly to walk around in the water. But the area outside of the beach is very clean.
Activities: kids club, nigh club, and had shows some days. But mostly signing and karaoke.

Our recent stay at Dreams Vallarta Resort was exceptional. The staff was incredibly welcoming and made our experience truly memorable. Special thanks to Oliver, Alejandro, Jacqueline, and Jocelyne from the Carnival main dining room for their hospitality and excellent customer service. Omar and David at the front desk, along with Judith Avalos, were very nice and accommodating. Oscar and Manuel at the Capers restaurant were formidable. We highly recommend this resort for anyone seeking a top-notch vacation experience.

My stay was wonderful. I will be returning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food options were good and the restaurants were nice and clean. The only problem was at check in . It did take a while to check in and after a long flight you just want to rest. Maybe the hotel can consider more people at the counter for check in.
Also, the beds seemed full size not queen size but over all I would recommend this hotel . It is beautiful!

Beautiful property and grounds but split into two resorts which is very confusing.

The staff are friendly but some has very limited English comprehension. It’s a little bit boring. Not much activities. Room service food are
The same everyday that I stayed there. And that’s 7 days.

Excellent service and the food was surprisingly good, the family hotel is very noisy and almost impossible to relax by the pool because of the kids playing and screaming

Reserved total of 11 room for a party of 17 people, and getting to the hotel at any point and time was horrible . Not allowing any guests and asking to pay 4/5 time more to book a room to bring you guest in ? What kind of vacation facility do that?

Most of the drinks have artificial flavors. Limited number of restaurant and limited number of items for the price that it charges its customer. Our family of 4 had food poisoning so it ruined half of our stay at the resort.

The hotel is clean and the staff are wonderful and professional. But the hotel is very old, they didn’t have any AC anywhere in the hotel except for the rooms, the food is very very limited and the same thing everywhere. We go to All Inclusive trips 2 times a year and this by far had worst food! The entertainment is lame, very boring! I mean we still tried to enjoy our time after spending so much money, but didn’t deserve it.

I didn’t like that the elevators didn’t have any air in them! You get very sweaty and crowded in them. Because it’s not enough for the size of the hotel

I’ve stayed at Secrets back December 2016 and this visit had my daughter. Booked using Expedia and stayed Saturday- Tuesday. Uber to the hotel from airport, 15min ride at 12pm. They would have a room for me at 1:30 and we could start enjoying their amenities. Room on the 12th floor was cleaned very well each day and it had a beautiful ocean view. Just sucks the elevators are very slow so lines can be long. 3 pools and decent amount of spots on the beach as well. The only really good restaurant was the sushi. The 6 other restaurants were just OK nothing to rave. Bellmen, maids, coffee shop, and front desk were nice. The concierges not so friendly since you don’t want to be bothered with timeshare spills. Didn’t like that if I wanted access to Secrets, I had to pay for a daily pass but Secret guests can come over free! Back then when it was Now Amber, it was free for me to roam thru both hotels. Checkout at 11:55am and was fast and smooth. July is apparently their raining season so each day poured down 1-2 hours straight at night and during the late day, more of an over cast. Overall, was a relaxing vacation, so many resorts in PRV that I would like to explore them all, never stay same place twice. This is a good resort for kids but not many activities for them to do but swim I would rate overall 4 stars as it’s a nice hotel.

Okay so I don’t ever do reviews good or bad but I’m flying home right now still irritated so needed to vent about my stay. Food was good a family resort foresure so my husband and I were going to bring the family back.. But we went alone so we got a room with our own pool a little privacy and paid extra for all 3 nights for the private pool well we purchased a massage from the resort which was nice but we headed back to our room to relax well we went to get in the pool and found used condoms they directed me to the concierge went to him he said will take care of it came back 4 hours later condoms still there I’m sure someone from above tossed but it’s unacceptable they did not clean immediately so we did not get to use our pool that we paid extra for. went to dinner came back no room service it’s a resort but okay. so we go to bed and wake up at 1am to the toilet sound like it exploded my husband went in there was soup coming out of the toilet I call concierge again someone will be right up my husband is throwing towels all over the ground nobody shows up next morning I go to front desk tell her how disappointed she asks it we want her to send someone to clean not even I’m sorry nothing I checked out she asked for my card to pay for my massage and our tip just overall upset about the whole thing we will not be taking our family back paid extra for a room I couldn’t even enjoy. Would not recommend this place to anyone disappointed and upset what a way to end a romantic trip

Amenities not described properly and the concierge did not communicate some how to’s like service light that was left on. Upper sales team for Universal Vacation Group was rude and pushy when we turned down their sales pitch to become members. After we declined to join our room was not cleaned for 2 days. Food was terrible across all restaurants. Pool had giant floor damage that we stepped in/on. Several broken/ missing floor tiles in hotel and loose hand rails through out

My friend & I had a girls’ trip here at Dreams. We had a wonderful stay @ Dreams. The food was excellent at the Japanese, Mexican & Castaway restaurant. The service was on point. I had an issue at the front desk during check in that could’ve been handled differently- language barrier.

This was a stay for my sisters wedding. First of all, they had us check in and then let us know that we didn’t pay for our room even though we had stayed a whole night prior to them having us pay at the front. Additionally, the room that we stayed in made properly it didn’t even have hand soap. and then our last day there when we were checking out, they let us know that we had an $800 charge due to not putting the correct amount of guest staying in the hotel room. Although they knew we checked in with two people at the beginning, they refrain from letting us know that there was an additional charge for a second guest in the room. We will never be coming back to this hotel or chain. This was the worst stay ever.
