Spent one night, and it was a great stay! Lovely sightseeing when walking in the Placencia Sidewalk toward the sea! The staff from the office was friendly and gladly showed us where to find Captain Jaks to prepare for the next day’s adventure. I recommend booking the Serenade Hotel as it's affordable and has excellent security.

Great staff, my wife was extremely sick and they help me get a cab and call the local nurse for help.

The proximity of the Serenade Hotel to the Hokey Pokey dock was good. The manager was friendly and helpful. The room was perfectly adequate and the air conditioner was great.
I didn't like the foot traffic going past our door as a short cut to the nearby bar, which was noisy. My wet suit booties were stolen from right outside our door where they were drying. The walkway should be closed off to the through traffic and a secure place to dry clothes would be an improvement.

I know this property as I live in Belize so no surprises. It was better than alot of places for the same price. Then again if it was not for it being a Festival week end

This was a great location and the staff were accommodating. However after a long day of travel and exploring, it was close to 1am when we realized that the hot water did not work in our room. After cold showers and finally ready for bed, we were kept awake by the excessive foot traffic. Promptly at 8am I was upstairs requesting a room change. Our room remained on the 1st floor but there was hot water and a tv. So we made it through the week without any other issues that were worth complaining about. This was a last minute trip and I read the posted reviews , which are 100% accurate. Your experience will be based on your comfort level, we were up and out every morning and only returned to the room for brief periods of time or to sleep for the night. This is a safe and friendly place that is up front about their accommodations. So if you are looking for a place to drop your stuff and go take advantage of the cheap price and great location. Do not expect to have WiFi if this is a working vacation.

Great location in the village. Easy walk to everything. Staff was very friendly and helpful. She helped make travel arrangements for us.
Bed was not very comfortable. After a few nights, we were very sore. The kitchen was not open at night when we wanted to save some leftover dinner. It was also closed in the early morning when we wanted some food before an excursion. We just didn't realize the hours for that.

Nice clean and room. It was nice to come back and see clean bed cove every day and a different colour. Close to beach and next to the sidewalk.

Serenade was a GREAT location If you really want to get a feel for Placencia. Staying walking distance from everything made for an amazing experience.
This was a lower end hotel price wise, but the owners were so accommodating and helpful! They even did laundry service for us for a small amount is USD. I would highly reccomemd the Serenade! This is not a high end resort, so just be aware. There is AC, a tv, and a working shower..what else would you need!!!? We wanted to save money on a room to have more money to explore and experience Placencia.

Run down, dated , small, loud, poor shower, TV subscription service only. Late at night some strange guy banged on my door and tried to open it. Couldn't wait to check out.

The place is older. Not a lot of amenities. My biggest negative was having a tiny mirror in bathroom. Hard to do hair or makeup. Space for bigger mirror.

Staff was very friendly and actually allowed us to check in early since our room was ready and we needed a place to leave our bags.
The only gripe I have is that they used a lot of Pine Sol to clean the room, and we needed to air the room out for several hours before things returned to a normal level. I can't really fault them for that since we checked in so early, so I marked one off on comfort but would still give them a 5-star rating for customer service. :)

Very clean. Small room with all amenities. No view from our room, but right on the famed side walk, in the middle of the town, close to everything. But still very quiet and safe.

Hotel is family run and located in a prime location, steps away from the beach, close to all the restaurants and bars, but also in a quiet area. A/C worked great, which was key!

Great place to stay. Can't beat the central location and beach view. Great friendly and helpful staff. Beds were not the most comfortable but it is a budget friendly price.

Driving up to this place was the beginning of our nightmare but we maintained an open mind as we parked in the hotel's parking lot which also doubled as the CEMETERY parking and sketchy FLEE MARKET.
The front of the hotel looks like its on the beach. That's not exactly true. In fact the only view that all basic rooms (except the 2 that are on the top level) get, is a either the laundry room, or what appears to be a utility room (that's the one we got).
The Expedia pics make it look like you'll be relaxing on a Hammock while watching the sun go down over the beach..Well.. If you get the upgrade, you might get a shared hammock but you'll be overlooking a graffiti'd sign and a few trees.
Inside of the room, we had to kill our pet cockroach but what finally did it for us was the fact that not only was the shower floor slimy, as well as the water faucets themselves, but the water pressure was the lowest we had ever seen.
To put things into perspective, we had travelled all over Belize, from San Pedro, to San Ignacio, to Corozal and more. We had stayed in 4 different hotels and a hut in the Cayo forest. We were not expecting a palace but for double the price of other rooms nearby, this was completely horrible.
Their are many nice places in Placencia and they were all cheaper. We know this because we tried to rent them but at the time, it was Saint Patty's day and everything was booked.

Like staying with friends, entertaining, relaxing. Easy access to beach, restaurants, pubs, grocery stores. Older building but very clean and comfortable. Owners/ staff were helpful and fun. Would stay again.

We recently stayed at Serenade for a week. It is in a good location however, I would never stay here again. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and very old. We stayed in the 2 bed, family room. The first night we slept in the double bed and kept rolling to the center so the next night I slept in the twin bed. I expected them to clean the room and make the beds and they NEVER did. Our room floor was full of sand and the sheets on the twin bed came off every night so I was laying on the mattress. They never brought us any new towels, only 2 clean wash clothes and we had to buy some more soap at the store.
