It was very smelly (septic)! Bedding and curtains tattered. Trees on property were overgrown blocking view of pool and the sea. Our room had a “view” of the back of the restaurant, we paid extra to have a pool view. Bathroom door didn’t close. Furniture was water stained and warped. Listing on hotels.com said rooms were soundproofed and they were far from it! Don’t bother booking this hotel, search on.

I stayed for 2 days with my family. Due to my works i couldnt have too much time in hotel. But my family did. All the things after we check in till check out was perfect excluding breaksfast. The service was also perfect. It was a nice place to stay with family. If i do next time, i will prefer again. Thanks for all

Very fun stay! The pool is nice and the flowers on the balconies and inside the resort are so pretty. Staff could be a little more proactive (we asked for balcony door to be fixed and when we asked to play tennis, they said they were out of tennis balls.) In the end we bought some at the kiosk right outside the hotel and left them there. Breakfast was good, nice to sit outside near the pool. All in all a great time!

We loved our stay here and all the staff at the hotel made our stay so much better, everyone was SO helpful and kind, and their English is excellent. We had a room overlooking the pool and sea with a large balcony which was lovely. The room has a fridge and looks newly renovated as it is very clean. We didn't have a kettle but asked at reception and they found one for us and some cups to use. The pool area is beautiful and well maintained by the maintenance teams, and there is a bar open from 10am and snacks available throughout the day (try the club sandwich, it is amazing) There is also drinking water available so you don't need to buy plastic bottled water. The sea is just outside the hotel, across the road, it's a small beach, but there is shade available and the water is absolutely crystal clear and great for snorkeling. There's a small kiosk shop there as well selling drinks and snacks and ice creams. The local bars and restaurants all along the harbour front are all excellent and great value. Average €40-€50 for a meal for two with starters and drinks. I highly recommend an early run/walk along the coast to Marathon. It's a good 3k run before you run out of path and the sunrise around 5:45-6am is absolutely spectacular. If you continue 1k inland you can visit the Tumulus of the Athenians. It costs €6 to go in and walk around or you can see the mound/tomb from the fence.

We booked the hotel at the last minute, only a few minutes after booking, when we saw the room we canceled it and left. The rooms are dirty, lack of maintenance, but mainly you can smell the humidity and mold, our room also smelled of cigarettes. In addition, the hotel did not agree to the cancellation of the reservation, even if it lasted only a few minutes, and demanded payment of the full price. Probably the worst experience with accommodation in Greece...

Restaurants and cafes were walking distance. Shuttle service was available for pickup and drop off at airport . This was a great convenience. The beach Was a 3 min walk from hotel .

We had a great 6 nights here. Room was lovely and bright and the bed was extremely comfortable. The pool area was lovely and so well maintained. All staff were friendly and helpful. The area is quiet and more for locals so no big tourist shops but lovely local tavernas. Great place to stay.

this place was a great deal especially since it is right down the street from the beach and is in close proximity to many restaurants. The staff is all very friendly especially Lisa and Julianna at the front desk! This will be our choice on our next visit to the Athens area.❤️

Some part of the hotel is a bit worn out, but we had a nice updated room with a nice bath and view to the pool - a very nice pool-area, with a nice poolbar, and they bring you free water. Very nice and helpfully staff all over. A bit noice from the street, but we did sleep well.The breakfast is not something speciel, but ok. Good opportunities for biking and walking to historically places. A very good price for the stay. All in all very good value for the money.

Tired hotel. Hotel room is cold with pebble floor, not particularly clean. Bathroom only has dispenser for shower gel/shampoo. Furniture is worn out and dirty. Buffet dinner was dried out and unappetizing. Hotel staff were not particularly helpful and very slow.

Our stay overall was good, only dissapointment was we asked for a quiet room and were assured it was, but we were next to a restUrant in the hotel that played very loud music till 2 am. When we complained at 11pm we were told we had to pay for a more expensive room on the other side of the hotel. Very disappointing.

Confused that this hotel got such high reviews. It was clean and well maintained but not extraordinary. Our stay was fine except for two points 1- we rented bikes for 10€ each and the petal broke off of one of them half way through our outing, it made for a very long walk back. I was shocked that we were expected to pay for the rental av the bike that broke! Even though I told them clearly this was not ok they charged us. ALL of the bikes were in such awful condition they should not have let guests ride on them let alone Pay for them. 2- Between 2-5am there was a large group of cars & motorcycles drag racing up and down the main road just below our room. VERY VERY LOUDLY!! It was horrible and I realize this is not the fault of the hotel however they handled it very badly. They would not go out and ask the group to move on, I ended up having to go talk to them myself at 430AM. We barely slept. The area is pretty but I would never stay at this property again

We only stayed one night but our room was very comfortable and quite large, with a small balcony, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice pool. the (very) nearby beach was quite good and there's plenty of local bars and eateries.

We had a great time. The service was awesome. Front desk always helpful. Extra pillows came 1 min after asking for them! Our room was #29 first floor. Quiet and very close to the pool. The AC worked well, the beds are comfortable, tv had English Chanels only at night. The only thing I dont like was the room was not that clean. The floor is some sort of rocks, like outside, which never really gets clean. I had to leave towels on the floor to feel germ free. The pool is really nice! The breakfast was just ok. But dont be late,they take everything away at 10am. You can walk to the beach in 5 min. Plenty of restaurants there. Or walk into town, at the square for yummy gyros and waffles. We also went to see a movie at the local outdoor movie theatre for 6 euros each. We also rented bikes but they are all very old and falling apart with low airin the tiers. Not worth 12 euros. They should be free to take for the guest, thats how low quality they are. But I would say this place is great. Id stay again.

Our room was located above the hotel's all night outdoor disco which played loud music until 230 am. No suitable replacement room next night and would not refund second night prepaid room fee because we booked through Expedia. We left anyway, it was that bad.

Marathon Beach Hotel was wonderful! They have done a lovely job renovating and old standard into a stylish, modern and welcoming shelter in the current Greek storm. The design of the renovation is fresh and clean, the staff was extremely helpful and attentive and the breakfast was excellent. And I can't forget the large, lovely (salt water❤️❤️❤️) pool! I would (and already have) recommend it to a friend. The hotel is in a great area of Nea Makri, with nice shops, a beautiful port and lively night life just steps away. The price was rigt for such excellent service and such a beautiful place. Oh, and they have super cool bikes to rent. Go to Greece! Go to Marathon Beach Hotel!

I was so impressed with the way we were received and treated. Hotel manager and all staff were to extreme extend nice, polite, caring and helpful. It felt i have gone to stay with mum and dad. If ever i go back to Greece i will stay in this hotel.
