This was a fabulous place to stay for 4 nights, in the rice fields in a small village where vilagers' lives are real and authentic. The staff were warm and friendly, always happy to help us with our Balinese language. The food was nice and fresh and the Wooden House was a treat to stay in. I would recommend Umusari to anyone wanting a relaxed, authentic Balinese experience.

This was a stay during COVID with almost all rooms empty which must be difficult for the hotel. The room we stayed, gardens and pools were well maintained. Just one advice to fellow travelers: do not accept the room next to the reception because there is noise entering easily (wooden walls). Instead ask to be shown the rooms down at the river, where the restaurant is located.

The staff were lovely - even surprising us with banana pancakes and iced tea in the afternoon. The pool was nice and quiet, the room a little small but the bed really comfy and the aircon terrific. All in all, really great for the price!

Nice budget villa centrally located in the village of Umabian, Tabanan, Bali. Very quite place away from tourist area of Kuta and Canggu Beach; yet close to Ubud, Monkey Forest Kedaton ,Taman Ayun and Tanah Lot Temple. We enjoyed the tranquility, the outdoor pool and the massage ( only US $11.00 per hour ). The pathway to the dining area presently under constructions.

This villa estate is a very nice choice if you’re looking for peace and quiet with expansive working rice-field views. There are a handful of units that are pretty separate from each other, yet connected by stone paths and a communal swimming pool. My single room (Balinese House) had a very comfortable king-size bed and aircon, with a nice open-air bathroom. It’s duplex-style, so you share a wall with another room. The other villas are suite-style (larger and closer to the pool). The shared wall is thin so I’d get the suite-style if you want more privacy. There’s a small mini-mart right next door, convenient for getting random snacks (have cash). Walking to Mengwi takes about an hour, so best to ask the helpful staff to arrange for a taxi. The meal situation is a bit vague so I’ll explain it here: Uma Sari Villas has a restaurant that serves breakfast (complimentary), lunch and dinner (you pay). The restaurant is actually a 3-minute walk down the rice field with a beautiful setting, although Ayu was nice enough to bring me dinner to my cottage one night. For breakfast, the oatmeal and eggs are very basic, so I would get the banana pancakes with honey, or the Balinese breakfast options (order the day before). The dinner options nasi campur and nasi goreng are amazing and hearty.Recommended: explore the rice fields and terraces all around the villas (walk or bike). Thank you Uma Sari for a great stay!
