It was a great place to stay with family. The rooms we were allocated were spacious and comfortable. It was convenient to the beach and the local shops in the village had great eating options. We will stay there again.

Fabulous location, great facilities, wonderful restaurant - we’ll be back. The only downside was that the access to the beach was closed for renovations so we had to walk the long way around to get to the beach

All in all a very nice property with good facilities and beach access. Small things let it down like dripping taps, flat batteries in AC remote, blinds that don't open properly, floor not cleaned very well and no place to wash dishes other than bathroom sink Also hot water not quite hot enough.

Sandcastles 1770 is in a great location - right on the beach. Unfortunately, my room wasn't clean - satay sauce spilt on the floor in front of the fridge and dead bugs on the floor and window sills. The bathroom smelt musty. I mentioned these things to the receptionist when I checked out, but her only response was to say I should have complained earlier.

Right across the street from the beautiful beach with a nice walkway. Room was exceptionally clean. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool with adjacent outdoor kitchen/lounge. The amenities were plentiful.

We had a recently renovated villa so that was fantastic. I would stay here again one night wasn’t long enough.

Location was great and that’s where the good news ends. There was no reception office open for the entire 2 night/ 3 day stay, so couldn’t get extra towels or toilet paper (only one roll in room). There were also no pool towels and the pool was hot and very dirty. It appeared that all that had been done in the room after the last guests left was new bin liners and bedding. The shower was full of sand and mouldy, sand on the floor of the room, dust and torn up toilet paper on the window sill and last guests belongings still in bedside drawer. The cupboard doors did not slide and had to be lifted to access the space. Girl in the restaurant was very rude when we asked about booking a table and when we enquired about takeaway she said we’ll have to see if we’re too busy! Yes, we knew our room was called ‘budget’ but it was $230 a night and we at least expected it to be clean.

Poor room service, we 3 people stayed for 3 nights , there was no room service and not enough milk, toiletries. When we called the after hours manager no response.. worst ever experience, please stay away from this property

I was disappointed my room was changed without consultation after discussing what we required we had a room we couldn't use due to steps so we were moved to original room we booked. Then to top it off they booked our room for another person as well who came to check into our room with her key. I am not keen on giving a bad review, but no one bothered to contact me to explain or apologize for the inconvenience, I had to call them myself. Lovely property and a great location. There was a smoke alarm sitting on the bench that had fallen from the ceiling. The unit was immaculate and loved everything about it. But the staff failed with supplying customer service.

The bed was really solid and uncomfortable for the price I paid I would have expected a comfier bed and the tv remotes none of them work had to get batteries, and had ants all threw apartment

Nice place, close to beach and very clean. We stayed in a 2 bedroom beach house pool. The photos were miss-leading showing the pool having a glass pool fence and at the end of the balcony. Our one was actually a metal fence and tucked around the side. Also had little issues in the room: bbq wouldn’t light and dishwasher rack was broken. Would we stay again? Yes, but these are things I would be mindful of.

Super friendly lady at front desk, central location, clean and tidy. However, this is a typical roadside motel, with the sound of early traffic coming right through the windows. And the photos give the impression it’s resort style accommodation without making it clear you’re in a motel quite apart from the resort rooms, which appear to be quite a bit nicer. I think it was very overpriced at $270 for what it was. Had it been $180, even $200, then it would have been fair value. Overall, we had a comfortable stay and would recommend if they brought down the price of the motel rooms.

Motel rooms are on the main road, can be noisy. Restaurant was only open a few days a week. Few places to eat in town, mainly fish & chips, one Thai, an RSL and a few cafe's.
