Just ok - the house and room need some upgrades.

We had a very comfortable stay. The bathroom is well appointed with good towels and robes. Breakfast is very pleasant. Great location for downtown .

It was not a great experience and the morning breakfast was poor. The location was within walking distance of the shopping and downtown areas. It was old and did not seem clean and in good repait

Smallest shower I’ve ever seen right in the bedroom
For a bed and breakfast the breakfast was dismal

It was a nice stay! Very convenient spot of seeing plays at the Avon (which was the theatre where our 8pm show was). We didn’t see staff much, but check in and out were convenient and easy.

A quaint, elegant property maintained in a wonderful tradition. The rooms were well appointed to continue the tradition of it hospitality since 1873 well situated for access to any point in Stratford by walking. The owner has obviously taken great pains to preserve the elegance of that. With updates for our modern Comfort.

Charming, comfortable inn. Close to downtown Stratford - quiet street. Easy walk to theatres. Helpful staff. Simple continental breakfast was fine for us - coffee, juice, fruit, yoghurt, granola, bagels / bread with spreads. Beds comfortable. King bed was excellent. Single bed needs better mattress. Bathroom in room was fine. Good hot water supply.

I booked a room with a queen bed for my wedding anniversary- was given separate twin beds instead

Good Location, walking distance to Avon theatre and main strip for shopping and dining. Check in very easy, met by owner. Breakfast choices adequate to start your day. Probably not the best choice for families with young children. Parking is easy as long as you are not driving a boat for some of the spots. Found everything very clean.

I would rate my visit to this location as a 4.5 out of 5. I was very satisfied and I really had no complaints. The location is great really close to DT Stratford walkable.

Nice enough. Could use some extra TLC. Great location.

We've stayed at the Stone Maiden many times, but not for years. Lovely old place.

Nice place, but lacks personal amenities (shared liquid soaps and shampoo) and less than desirable breakfast offerings. I guess i expected a bit more but OK for parking and location.

It is a nearly one-hundred-year-old building. The management has managed to retain the vintage ambiance, beds, lamps, and other furniture while modernizing the plumbing, shower, and bathtub.

Honestly, this was a rather disappointing experience. This was once a grand house and I'm sure it could still be, but it is quite run down, tired, and is desperately in need of upgrading - at the very least a deep clean and fresh paint (for example, the trim on the bottom of the shower is moldy - a scrub brush and bleach would easily take care of that).
The bed was supremely uncomfortable - far too soft and every time my husband so much as shifted position, the whole bed shook. There is air conditioning, but it is a window unit and is quite loud. The room was very small and everything just sort of feels like no one really cares very much.
We were greeted politely by the manager, who assisted us with our suitcase. He was quite nice, but he was in bare feet - I know it's hot, but it felt a bit disrespectful, honestly. Again, if it were a 100-dollar a night motel, I'd be less annoyed, but they're charging around $300. And the pictures on Expedia make the rooms look both bigger and brighter.
On the plus side, it is in a great location and located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood - about a 15 minute walk to the Festival theatre.
I think with some effort, this could be a truly lovely inn, but we will stay somewhere else next time.

We stayed in the "Secret Garden" which is the penthouse suite. There are numerous stairs to reach the room and one set of stairs is very narrow, making it difficult to get luggage up and down. There is a window unit for air conditioning, but because the room is the attic of the house, it is difficult to cool. The window unit is in a skylight above the bed and leaked onto me as I slept. Parking is tight! I would not drive a truck or large SUV. Thankfully we brought our car. The breakfast is called a "snack" and that is the perfect description. It has less options than a basic continental breakfast. The television in the room is outdated. You cannot stream from it. It is a nice quiet neighborhood and close to shops and restaurants. If you are looking for something historic for a night and can handle stairs (no elevator), this might work for you.

It was a lovely Inn. I'm elderly and use a walker and they did not have a lift which was not on the website. I was booked onto the 3rd floor and Tim and Marshall were very accommodating and changed my room. Both my daughter and I loved our short stay.

Like staying at Granny’s house! Good check in with Manager. Room was ok not as large as photos make it look. Small bathroom small shower in bedroom. Dust on lamp stands. No bedside outlets. No coffee tea making in room it’s in the hallway and covered in dust! Glasses in hallway available but filthy with dust.
Needs a freshen up for sure there’s shabby chic and plain old worn out. Bed comfy but need new pillows! They all smelled of previous sweaty heads!

Quaint older property.

All was very accommodating. Only recommendation would be, if not serving breakfast (hot and prepared), bagels, toaster, bread, Danish/Donuts would at least bring a feel of comfort to guests in the morning.

Marshall was very attentive. Very attractive mansion. Quiet. Well situated.

The Stone Maiden was a charming property. Felt like “home”. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The communal billiards room and little nook carved out for reading was also a pleasant addition to our stay. Parking was plentiful and the heart of Stratfords downtown was a mere 5 minute walk. It couldn’t be in a better location. All in all my wife and I had a wonderful stay. We’d definitely stay again.

This is a beautiful old house that has been maintained cheaply. Any repairs we saw are evident and poorly done. Our bed was old uncomfortable and shaky. Our air conditioner was an old yellowed noisy window unit. Who knows how much mould has built up in these units. It felt like only minimum is done to keep the property functioning for this use.
The location is convenient to downtown and the theatres.
Overall we felt our room was worth about half of what we paid to stay the night.

Very nice bed and breakfast. However no breakfast was available at the property but it was very easy to get to restaurants. The rooms are beautiful and quiet. Everything is in walking distance. I will definitely come back.

No breakfast. No response to texts. No filtered water dispenser or in-room glasses available.

The stay overall was fine, i was just disappointed that there was no breakfast offered considering it is a B&B. It should be removed on the reservation page instead of informing us after we have already reserved and payed for the stay.

The Inn's hosts were very hospitable and friendly greeting us upon arrival. The Inn is amazing...decor, cleanliness and very interesting. The rooms and private bath are well appointed, very comfortable, roomy and romantic. We walked to all for dining, gardens, parks, bike rentals. The Festival Theatre is a 5 minute drive. Lovely experience and we will return to the Stone Maiden Inn!

This place is an absolute gem. The prices are incredible, the manager was friendly and greeted each guest as they arrived, and the lounge areas are stunning and comfortable. This place is a perfect time capsule of antique beauty. Parking was easy to use. The room was clean. There was a strong urine smell on the top floor the first day we arrived, but it was remedied the next morning. We will be back!

After booking I received a note from the facility that Breakfast was no longer included. They did offer to refund me for the cost of the breakfast, which I agreed to, or allow me to cancel, which I chose not to do, however, it was disappointing.
Overall the stay was comfortable, but average.

We wished to arrange early check-in which required contacting Stone Maiden rather than Hotels.com. We called three days in a row with a return call and received a return call on the day we needed to check-in. The room was fine but the TV did not work. Hotel was fine, service was not.
