This hotel was an amazing experience for our honeymoon and first time in Costa Rica! Staff is very nice and always available to assist. The grounds are well kept and gorgeous. The pools were fun to play in, or soak at the end a long day of adventures. The slides were a nice touch. We'd love to return.

This is my second time staying at this property and i enjoyed every time i have come here. I recommend anyone looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful rainforest to stay here.

Superb spot nested in the jungle in Chachagua village. We had an incredible stay. The hotspring pools and slides were the big attraction.

Property was away from city center so you really feel like you're staying in the rainsforest which is unique. Staff was friendly and helpful in resolving an issue that Expedia could not.

The overall experience was average. The staff is helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and had everything we needed. However, the facilities are showing signs of wear and tear and the seats outside have moist smell due to high humidity.

Truly a unique experience. The hot springs were a great way to relax after a busy day hiking/adventuring. The staff was overall very good. I can only imagine, it's hard to keep up with this place due to it's location and the ever changing weather in CR. A couple things I noticed. The pool was in disrepair. They seem a little short staffed during breakfast. Overall, though, I highly recommend it. It's a memorable hotel/experience.

We’ve just finished 7 wonderful and relaxing days here. First and foremost the staff here are kind, friendly, and accommodating. The campus as a whole is lush and well cared for. There is a never ending variety of birds to see and hear. A group of howler monkeys spend a significant amount of time each day around the wooden viewing bridge. We heard their haunting calls almost every evening and morning. While hard to find we did see a sloth near the same bridge on our first full day here. You truly do feel at the edge of if not in the rainforest. While the facilities are showing some age in a few spots they are aging gracefully. Each cabin is surrounded by tropical plants and feels immediately connected with nature. Early mornings on the porch hammock were wonderful. The hot springs are more warm than hot and felt good after a day of hiking or visiting La Fortuna (25 minute drive away). There is also a natural cold pool with water slide. We enjoyed going back and forth between the refreshing cold pool and the thermal springs. One minor annoyance was the occasional smell of sewage around the outside of the cabins. This must be tough to control in a remote tropical environment. As we expected the rainforest is very wet. It absolutely poured every afternoon. We found this refreshing after the hot and humid morning and early afternoon. In summary our family looks forward to visiting again someday!

The hotel, restaurants, and coffee/cocoa tour were all five stars. We were very impressed and would happily come back, this is a wonderful place. Our private pool overlooking the rain forest was particularly amazing, and the kids loved the water slide into the river.

The staff at the restaurants were excellent! They were extremely helpful, happy and accommodating. The pools were great especially the hot pools. The ambiance and the grounds were beautiful. I would have given it a 5 star, but our room was supposed to have 2 queen beds and instead it had a king. I complained and their solution was to bring in a twin bed.

This place was magnificent! If you have your heart in staying in a rain forest, Chachagua is the place for you. My family loved the sounds of the jungle every night. My boys loved coming across frogs, lizards, or leaf cutter ants. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel does not offer much night life you have to create your own. I only dropped a star because we didn’t have hot water for two days but they correct the issue right away. Also my daughter’s bungalow was leaking. I would recommend this place to friend and family.

I absolutely loved this property. Food options were fresh and accommodating if needed. The town was 20 min away if wanted to do excursions or visit little mom and pop stores! Absolutely beautiful. The staff was wonderful! Very polite! Be aware if you don’t like bugs - this is not the place for you haha. Absolutely beautiful grounds! The hot springs pools are warm &. Healing. At least that’s how I felt every time I sat in them. I would highly recommend anyone celebrating a honey moon or just want to get away with friends for a chill vibe ❤️

We enjoyed our three nights stay here. The place is beautiful, surrounded of nature and wildlife. Food was delicious though kind of expensive for locals. I want to let know that staff magnificent service made our stay a WOW experience.

So, firstly I highly recommend this hotel. It is secluded, with beautiful grounds and friendly staff, and each cabin is very private and well-maintained. It is certainly a wonderful, if rather out-of-the-way, location. If you are looking for something off the beaten path but with all the amenities of a top resort (it's also not cheap, but in my opinion, well worth the money), this will fit the bill. The hot springs are a delight and very peaceful. The restaurants serve very good cuisine. Since there are no other restaurants anywhere near, the only options ar in the hotel, but you won't be disappointed,
However, be warned. The checkout process left a really bad taste in our mouths after such a relaxing and wonderful stay. At checkout, they blamed us for breaking a mirror and wanted to charge us $200, stating that they checked the cabins before each guest and the mirror wasn't broken. We noticed the broken mirror after we had been shown to the room, so they asked us why we hadn't reported it. This is the first time that we have been held responsible for reporting defects in the hotel room and charged if we don't report them.
In the end, they removed the charge, but the episode left a very bad taste and upset us for being blamed for something we didn't do.
Otherwise, I still highly recommend this resort.

Loved this stay. My wife and I travel to Arenal area every year and have been exploring all of the thermal resorts. This is an absolute favorite. Amazing service, the bungalows feel secluded, great menus, fair drink prices, just an all around winner. This will be added to our yearly itinerary.

We enjoyed our stay. Dining options on-site were limited, but everything else was perfect!

First off let me say if you’ve never been to Costa Rica before, do your homework, and don’t believe anything a resort tells you. No place is easy to get to, and Chachagua is the worst. I’d only stay here 2 nights tops, and better plan on not going anywhere unless the resort staff approve. There’s some kind of major racket going on between them and transportation companies, tour companies. I can’t speak for all of Costa Rica, but these folks were judgy-gossips. My bff and never get wasted, but during our 1trip together a year, we like to let loose a bit, this place act like nuns at my all girls high school. They have 1 pool if you want to call it that. It’s more like a 2ft kiddie pool with only 2, yes I said 2 lounging chaises. The bungalows were ok, but the beds are like rocks. If you forget to tip your housekeeper for 1 day, be prepared to not have toilet paper or towels.
Also the on-resort activities are not great. The way they treat their horses is sad.
They advertise that it’s an easy commute to La Fortuna or Arenal, but it will cost you $100 USD to get there one way.
Stay in the La Fortuna or Arenal for a few days and then move on to one of the coasts

Amazing included breakfast - enjoyed trail to Falls inside property - 15 min - loved to hang out in the morning on the private patio with hammock. Enjoyed our swim in the hotsprings - not very hot - enjoyed by our biys 10 and 14 ages. A mini Tabacon Springs i must say - beautiful!

Room and areas clean.
Some options to do on property, like excursions.
Horses stalls were sad, and small. Felt bad for condition
Cute pool hot springs area.
Food low options for families especially.
Expensive for what you received.

Love the ideas of the bungalows. Breakfast included each morning is fabulous. Enjoyed on site experiences & guides that provided the experiences. I would have enjoyed more lounge chair options around the pool & hot spring area.
We felt like we were in the Garden of Eden…surrounded by beauty! 🌸

Breakfast and dinner was excellent!

We had a lot of difficulty with the wifi, being unable to text or send pictures to loved ones at home. In every other way, though, this was a fantastic getaway..lovely bungalows, warm springs, service and food, and the landscaping was spectacular!

Beautiful lodges in the rain forest , beautiful trails 2KM around the property which are nice to explore with a tropical farm at the end. Lodges are nice and clean but a little dark inside. Restaurants are great, drinks are excellent. The grounds need a little tlc ei the pool but the thermal pools were very nice. Nice area to see wildlife, toucans, sloths, agouti etc

We loved staying here. Staff was all super amazing and the grounds were gorgeous. I liked both their casual bar area and nicer restaurant for dinner. It was nice being close enough to go to La fortuna but not in the craziness.

Highly recommend. Beautiful nature, good food, nice rooms.

Absolutely adored the property and staff (and food!), however we felt the pictures of the hot springs are misleading. They were somewhat warm to cold, never hot which was what we sought out to find in a place. It would be 10/10 across the board otherwise!

We loved our stay at Chachagua Rainforest Hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our hike to the onsite waterfalls (done twice). We went into the Hot Springs each day! Heavenly! I enjoyed reading my book in the hammock. A beautiful hotel. Thank you.

Absolutely loved my stay at Chachagua. We reserved the family suite with the private patio and pool. I can't even express how amazing it was to stay at this property. Loved all of the staff (especially Hector), beautiful and serene grounds, amazing complimentary yoga sessions, and good food.

Loved our stay here - we were woken up by monkeys one day! Great food, amazing hot springs, great property tour; kiddos loved it. Only about 20 mins drove from La Fortuna.

The property was absolutely beautiful. We highly recommend exploring the property. We saw toucans and howler monkies. We also did the chocolate and coffee tour, it was great. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Especially I would like to thank Alex for helping us to try to find our missing luggage. We found it in Miami on our way back to Canada. We traveled with two kids. They loved staying there. The food was delicious too. We would love to go back there again!

Our family absolutely loved our stay. Food was really good, grounds are amazing, staff very friendly. Definitely have free rain forest walk to waterfall with Bryan. Hot springs and pools are amazing. Amazing place for 2-3 day stay to disconnect from outside world

Definintely a Eco Jungle experience. Located on top of a mountain, right in the middle of a rainforest. Bungalows were great, the outside patio was used every morning and night by our party, Howling Monkeys, exotic birds and other animals can be seen on property, bc it really is in the Rainforest. Staff exceptionally friendly, Breakfast was actually delicious. Dinner was very good, I did not have lunch there but my kids said it was very good. As, I said it is on top of the mountain, so its a long, winding road with lots of curves, dips and stops; daughter got sick on the drive there ( motion sickness), but it was well worth it ( my daughter agrees). Definitely , need a car bc it is a long drive and about 25 minutes from La Fortuna ( they tourist town near the Volcano). Only complaint, a fruit drops from the trees every day, and sometimes not picked up right away; so in the morning , at times, a too sweet, rotting, smell would be on some paths, but not overpowering , just annoying. Excellent experience
